facts propounded by who or whom? Did you ask yourself how many sharia states this so called destruction of beer truck happened?

I mean, if Sokoto state, the very sit of Islam in Nigeria isn't even doing this nonsense, what does that tell you about these states that destroy beer trucks.

I hope you know the links you posted were personal experience from individuals?

Wait what? Are you purposely being foolish or what?

The vanguard newspaper site (BBC carried the story too) reports the destruction of beer bottles carried by trucks and you are here calling it "personal experience"? The report that had a quote from the head of the sharia police and pictures of the destroyed bottles? Do you know the meaning of facts?

The fact is clear; drink alcohol in Kano and Jigawa at your own risk.

You are just too ignorant to discuss with.

The original argument stands. Sharia law is a violation of the Nigerian constitution.

Octopusssy:

Arguing with that one is like arguing with a hollow stone wall- fruitless, unedifying and time wasting.

Look at this dull babe talking. You are supporting someone that is claiming that sharia law is compatible with the Nigerian constitution.

A christian for that matter supporting such position. You are just too dull.

Worse is the fact that we never see you in sensible debates.

When we are debating plotholes and movie logic, you are absent
When we are debating racism and life abroad, you are absent.

But when it is to support homophobic and theocratic nonsense, you will be here making long epistle-like comments.

What a disgrace.

yes of course. Personal experience as reported by journalist who reported it. Now why should their experience be any different from mine? Or is it because i am not a journalist.

Are Kano and Jigawa the only states that implement sharia law? How come all you've stated revolve around those states. Or you've being constructively narrow minded just to flare your ignorant opinion everywhere?.

If I'm too ignorant to discuss with, then it's certain you're too myopic to even reason with. Mr local champion.

See this clown. Below are the differences between your personal story and a fact-checked news article from a journalist;

-there were numerous witnesses to the event of the destruction of the beer bottles. You are talking for yourself
-there is picture evidence for the destruction. You lack any concrete evidence for your story
-there is a quote from the head of sharia police confirming the destruction.

That aside, I only need one example to prove my point that Sharia law is impeding our freedoms enshrined in the constitution. I gave you two instances where a sharia state went above the law by stopping people from drinking beer.

Your reply is called "whataboutism"- instead of accepting you are wrong, you went about asking for other sharia states. Oga, that is a red herring I am not intersted in.

Guy, accept that you are ignorant. Soo many lawyers have pointed out the incompatibility between sharia law and our constitution

The last few pages of this thread highlights the problems we have in Nigeria

-Ignorance caused by religion (and sometimes lack of exposure)
-Too many useful idi0ts
-Aggressive "I don't care attitude"

-Ignorance caused by religion
We can see how mentally deficient some people are because of religion. These are otherwise educated people who start talking like illiterates on certain controversial topics. For instance, gay rights. Imagine someone that is educated comparing homosexuality to pedophilia.

-Too many useful idi0ts
Going by the argument on this thread we can see that the number of homophobes outnumber the sensible people. It is very difficult to fight against a majority. This problem also extends to politics. Our wicked political leaders know that there will always be hungry fools in the masses that will vote for them because of bags of rice. They knew that they could fool a lot of dumb religious Nigerians to be happy with 14 years imprisonment for gays so that we ignore how they are stealing money.

-Aggressive "I don't care attitude"
I don't know why many Nigerians cannot have a logical debate. They cannot reason and see the other person's point of view. The worst is when some know that they are wrong but will dig into their illogical beliefs out of spite. I don't know why many of us cannot use logic to admit when we are wrong.

You can't beat a dead horse, bro. When that _shithead equated pedophilia with homosexualism, I knew he's a lost cause right there and then. I recognized immediately the risk of reasoning with someone like that, so I ignored him. When you fight with a mad person, you're gonna get dirty, it's a guarantee. There's no point arguing with someone that thinks like that. He called Beorn narrow-minded, an ironic accusation coming from the same guy that equated gays with pedophiles. He couldn't see that he's actually the one that is narrow-minded... which is kinda fascinating when you think about it. His delusions of grandeur is a spectacle. grin

I dunno man... I think it's best not to engage with homophobes. Just leave them be. You can't win this war, man. We can only hope that maybe one day, progress will finally consume their antiquated mentality. Cheers.
