I made this kind of post in a group and was recommended to used Debbietone soap and jra foundation cream. I started using it from 2months postpartum now I'm 6 months postpartum and my colour is back.

Its Ghana black soap in white container even the cream is made in Ghana so beware of imitation

[quote author=BowsandBabies post=78330288]Alcohol and fragrance free soaps are good for babies, but no matter how good the soaps are they still have ingredients in them that strips out moisture from the baby's skin, thereby leaving the body dry.

Everyday use of this soap causes the baby's body to dry out. 5 months old baby can't play as hard as a 2 years old. That's to say your baby's skin is clean, only water will do.

I have been using one sabamed soap on my baby since she was 3 months, i'm still using that soap ( it's remaining small sha)

My first child had reoccurring dry skin because I used soap morning and night to bathe him.

My daughter I bathe with water everyday but I use soap 2 times in a week. Her still is so fine, no rash or eczema.

Just minimise the way you use soap on your baby and watch his skin. Ori, coconut and palm kernel oil is the best.

Also reduce chemical when it comes to your baby. I use pure water to bathe her, so I don't come close to savlon.

Wow, thanks so much ma, we have been using savlon right from birth as recommended at d hospital cos baby had rashes then, will stop it and go with 2ce a week for the soap.

Thank u ma.

Good evening sabi mummies and daddies in the building,

My wife just lost her job today and we have a 7 months old daughter who has been attending creche since 2 months ago due to her mum work. The current creche is a bit far from home because it's closer to her mum former office but I'm confused if we should look for a good creche nearby or let her stay at home with mummy for now.

My thinking is that she will be able to learn and develop more playing with other kids of her age instead of staying at home alone with mummy.

It depends on what mommy wants.
If mommy wants to find another job, then baby needs to go to creche but if mommy would love to bond a bit more with baby then she can take a few weeks to hang with him.

Another option is to register in a creche close to you and tick only 3 days on for him. That way, mommy has 3 days to do her and 2 days to do baby.

All your questions have been well answered, just wanted to add that you should not allow anyone to shame you oh! Please return fire for fire while you work on your tummy and give yourself time to get back to shape. A horizontal cut isn't as easy to recover from. Lemon water is fantastic, always flavour your water with a few slices of lemon. Just put it in the bottle and be topping up the water

Thanks mama. My diet is fine and I eat before 7pm. Unripe plantain flour is the only swallow I take. I take oats and Pap with moimoi or beans in d morning. I will keep trying. Thanks.

Hi mamas... Remember when I needed help with my baby's skin so here's an update. Might be a long read.

So I complained to my mom about it and she brought a native soap for me. She said I should bathe her with it, then rub the soap on the legs. I did that but like I always noticed, it'll look like the rashes were going and by night she starts itching while sleeping the next morning another will appear. After 2 days same routine, I told my mom again that the soap ain't working so when I go back to hospital nobody should say I like wasting money grin
Meanwhile , my mom also brought a bottle of groundnut for us and my baby is a groundnut lover.. She can finish a bottle in a week if I allow her. So after my mom went back to PH, she told my aunt about our recurring predicament. Then my aunt told her to tell me to reduce groundnuts for my baby cos it delays the treatment.

When I was told, that's when I became calculative and retraced all events concerning groundnuts and its family.., few days before that info I gave my baby peanut butter and the next day she had rashes on her forehead and neck which I thought was heat-rashes. That's how I knew "NUTS' were the culprit. I felt really bad knowing I was the one doing myself.

So we've stopped all things nuts and she's on antibiotics and allergy medications. I still bathe her with the soap too. No more breakouts and her skin is healing.
I'm still on the lookout tho..

PS.. I'd never believe someone I know is allergic to a kind of food not to talk of my own child. This life eh

Sebamed is good, Aveeno is good too but expensive. People recommend chicco a lot too
This sebamed though, I don't understand. I have a friend that use it for his 2 kids from birth but their skin is so dry and somehow wrinkle self. You need to see their hands.

I have told her to start using dove soap for them, and Ori with palmkernel oil.

Abi is she the one not buying the original sebamed ni. But she buys from all these known supermarkets.

I think baby skin differs. When I couldn't get Aveeno from the stores I usually buy. I tried sebamed on my baby, if you see rashes eh! The skin was dry and had something like dried burns.
But some mom swears that its very good. So I guess it has to do with the skin.

Exactly what I was driving at. It's the skin and the truth is a child that will have dry skin will have it, no matter what you use. Just that it can be controlled.

I just heard about jergens jelly for dry skin today. I will post the pix tomorrow. Its 2k, may be some Mama's can try it too for their babies that have dry skin.

Waow. Your questions have been beautifully answered and I learnt a lot. Thank you for asking on my behalf.
Let me add a little bit.
1. Such happened to my baby though I didn't see dried catarrh but he had this wheezy breath around 1 to 3 months. I visited the hospital and the Dr said it would resolve on its own that it's water from the womb and coupled with development of the lungs but if I was still worried about it I should do steam inhalation with silverbird for a week which I did twice as well as sprinkling around his bed but when a woman spoke of how silverbird ruined her sense of smell, I stopped it.
Just as the Dr said, resolved on its own. Avoid powder to prevent respiratory problems in babies because they can breathe it in.
2. For breast not holding baby I'm also mixed feeding with baby right from birth and he's 5 months. Please give him enough water. My baby was constipated right from when I introduce formula. Pooing once a week until 2 weeks ago when I started making sure that he drinks water. He hates water. I spoonfeed him cause he hates bottle. Since then, he poos every day.
3. Me I need help on this because my baby was fair at birth but now he's only fair on his head and face and dark on other parts of his body. I need help on how he can get uniform color.
4. I'm 5 months post partum cs. My belly was very big but it's reducing. I'm not doing anything to make it go down more but I can learn. I don't care what ppl says.
They must talk.
5. I've never used anything for cs incision and no itching just slight pains when I stress myself with work. I don't know if cs mamas feel pain too. But I will start using ori like y'all suggested. Thanks.
