Story 1
During one of our installs, the client shared with us how Mr Ayo (not his real name) borrowed his brothers car, and waylaid in the night somewhere in Lagos. 1) They have so many cars on the platform. Bolt has over 2000 cars registered. The only they can supposedly keep all of them in business is to get more rider. Yes, MORE RIDERS. And how can that be achieved? Low fares

2) The primary reason (I stand to be corrected) why a large number of people use uber and bolt is because IT IS CHEAP. Forget comfort that we all shout. Gbagada to Ikeja is like #1000. Even a bike or Danfo won't charge that for a charter. Some of the riders you pick have cars in their compounds, yet they request you, and yoh think it's comfort? Nah I don't think so

Imagine Uber and Bolt increasing the fare. A lot of us here won't do 20 trips in a month. Look at your ride history. It's filled with trips from #500 to #1500. Increase the fare and see all those people disappear

We live in a Third World, where the gap between the rich and poor is wide, and where the percentage of low income earners are far more higher than we can imagine

Uber/Taxify can only survive here if they make the middle class and low income earners a priority.

Uber prices are cheap everywhere they establish. ,they thrive on comfortability and affordability but in Nigeria the fares are ridiculously cheap, so cheap that even some riders will pity drivers..I disagree that if fares are increased a bit rider will leave..alotta people take the trips not just because it's cheap but for convinence..personally I take it when I don't wanna drive not because of cost.

Yes fares must be kept at a low rate to ensure more riders board their services but not ridiculous as it is now...its ridiculously low bro..uber/taxify r exploiting the desperation of the Nigerian youth dats all

I saw ur post where you're claiming you rented your car out and was looking for vehicle to rent, that driving someone else car will make you work harder. very lame and stupid excuse.

The problem is you have spent 3years driving Uber @ 40 no achievement, still on rental, you have nothing to offer. My senior Uber driver pls pack well. Young boys are taking over.

When uber started, Festac to vi was about 4k and riders were on the increase, nobody complained u til they slashed by 40%.

The red cabs where also available and were more expensive, majority of the people consider comfort before price, it's just now that you see plenty olosho's using it and their main concern is price.

From #2,300 to #4,000 is an exorbitant hike. A 20% rise would not be so felt by riders while drivers would be a bit more satisfied e.g a 3k trip rises to #3,600. But if they have good reasons not to raise the rate ATM, at least do other things like commission reduction, bonuses etc.

This is so off point. Prices were never 4000 from festac to VI. Why should it be now? That's not the kind of increase we are talking about. Maybe 20-25% increase from what we have now. Festac to VI should not be less than 3k.

This thing is called ride sharing for a reason. Not all of us want to drive all day and pick 10 riders before we make something reasonable. If na two trips at a reasonable price, then fine. Going by the logic of the business, nobody would share their rides with the current rate.

This is so off point. Prices were never 4000 from festac to VI. Why should it be now? That's not the kind of increase we are talking about. Maybe 20-25% increase from what we have now. Festac to VI should not be less than 3k.

Every sound business man tries to knock down price to build more clientele reach but these fares are ridiculous..very very ridiculous..if these fares are increase a little bit, trust me no rider will go anywhere...people love the comfort as well as the cheap fare but when taking okada or other uncomfy means of transport becomes more expensive than taking an aced car then i begin to worry.

its simply because the drivers are not together plus the high employment rate hence this expliotation by these companies..Nigeria is their goldmine..

Eyes dey see for this job o....someone requested me for an older rider...i got there she came out with two 25litrs keg and two 30litrs keg and I asked if she was going to buy fuel in them but she no answer me...i pack dem put for boot started d ride and saw Alaka as destination from Chevron so I just concluded that she's taking d galoons empty. We follow short cuts burst out at agungi and she asked me to enter a compound and park she then asked the gatekeeper to start fetching water in the kegs��‍♂and drop them in my trunk��‍♂120litrs of water naim I wan carry from Agungi to Alaka o� omo I vex come down drop d two wey dem don fetch keep inside my boot cancel d trip ni o......
