You are too shortsighted and i'm not sure you have had a real life experience. you said that because you know how his future will turn out?

Justwise , you are not exposed at all. I have lived abroad for over 20’years , so I know what I’m talking about. That’s why Nigeria is not good . Do Chinese or lebanese come to Nigeria to take cleaning jobs or gateman jobs?

Sincerely speaking, you don't have to be judgemental here. He made those choices based on the information he had at hand. And now he is sharing his story not for us to pity him, but for someone out there to learn and not make the same mistake he made. So stop playing perfect, or as they say "Besserwisser".

Not being judgmental just stating the truth, Nigerians make poor choices and then blame it on someone else. Some posters on here are even advising the op to take the same path as this guy did.

No, I never said the Naija based girls were better. My point was that do NOT marry any girl in the west or do NOT marry a girl in Naija and bring her to the west....she will ruin your life and make you miserable unless you really wanna be a slave. If you don't always put her on a pedestal she will file domestic violence against your as.s....Women, by nature, are Selfish and Evil!

I'm sure you have learned anything helpful to others throughout those 20yrs if at all you have stayed that long 'abroad'.

You have no clue how many foreign students with limited opportunities get by and eventually scale though..almost every single one of them started with menial jobs.

I don't think i'm ready to waste my time today educating you about living abroad on student visa or post graduate visa.

If you are truly exposed you wouldn't be comparing China and Lebanese citizens to Nigerians. Chinese and Lebanese have the money only looking for business opportunity to invest, they study abroad on scholarships paid by their govt.

I think you are the one, who is more or less unexposed. Since when did cleaning jobs equate to unfulfilled future?
A professor friend, once told me how he picked potatoes on a farm when things were difficult for him. But today he is a Prof and is fulfilled? Mind you, he is German.
Doing menial jobs as a buffer doesn't make you less human, but instead, it propels you to strive and work harder. The op is just 25 with a master degree and he is complaining... Only if he knew how delicate this life is.

What I see is people failing to understand that in Germany, it is difficult to break through without the German language. I saw recently an advert in my town looking for java developers with C2 language proficiency. _I had to show some of my friends the advert, because I felt that is a subtle way of saying we need only native speakers.
_Below is what you see when reading job adverts

Das solltest Du mitbringen (What you should bring)

Abgeschlossenes Studium im Bereich Informatik oder Naturwissenschaften
Erste Praxiserfahrung in der Software-Entwicklung (First hand experience in software development)
Gute Kenntnisse in Java und JavaScript (knowledgeable in ..........)
Spaß an der Arbeit im Team (Enjoy working and also in Team)
Sehr gute Deutsch- und Englischkenntnisse ( Fluent in German and English) Here Fluent is not B1, it starts from B2

That's it. They won't outrightly say these things but the way things are designed shows you their target.

Imagine, comparing Chinese and Lebanese to Nigerians. How many Chinese students have you really met in person? Do you know how wealthy they are? You think a poor Chinese Student will leave China to study in UK, America or Europe ?

No it’s called a student visa for a reason, it’s for you to study . Nigerians go through issues because they violate the terms of their visa or they try to use the student visa to immigrate which the U.K. has caught on too and is making it very difficult for foreigner students. How does it make financial senses to spend thousands of dollars / euros or pounds to study and not get a decent paying job .

You are contracting yourself and all over the place with your point.

Did the school or the foreign govt promised you a job during the admission/visa application? How many Nigerians are working in Nigeria after graduation?

You are contradicting yourself. Your arguments are invalid . When an individual is on a student visa and wants to stay back to works that means you will need job sponsorship to get work authorization. Now is it tesco or Walmart’s going to sponser a student to work as a cashier ?

Stop arguing with those dissenting voices! It’s insane to spend over $65,000 from your parents in Nigeria on tuition overseas in a country like Australia and you end up packing shi.it of older citizens and wash plates in restaurants while having some masters degree and be deceiving yourself that “it is just for the time being”.

Trust me, it is easier for you to convince a brick wall to submit to your superior argument on here than to convince some sluggards on this forum on the importance of dignity and sense in yourself. A living witness here, I NEVER EVER NEVER EVER DID NO DAMN MENIAL SHI.T WHEN I WENT ABROAD. All I had to do was scale my expenses for the entire year during my student visa and post-study visa, paid my rents 12 months upfront and got my allowances 12 months upfront (albeit little in comparison to what menial guys make). I got a decent paying contract job while on student visa within 3 months of stepping foot into the country.

I told myself before leaving Nigeria that ANY job that I can’t do in Nigeria, I will never do abroad. It’s really a personal decision which I think it’s sane but people here be thinking because you’re African, you must appreciate just “being” in the foreign country. Balderdash trash!

I’m not discouraging anyone from doing
menial jobs at the beginning. Re read all my post , we are talking LONG TERM. The op made this post because he said does not see any PROFFESIONAL career opportunities LONG TERM in Germany . From his experience it has been difficult for him to secure any professional jobs. Plus he is there on a visa .

THANK YOU. These countries charge foreign students a lot of money on school fees . Now it’s worse than before. Some places just want yor money and after you finish school , they want you out of their country. It’s big business for them.

Very painful! These goons here glorify suffering so much that you’d think it’s hideous not to suffer before breaking through.

Nigerians pay way too much than they end up getting on the long term. The OP is not alone. Thousands of Nigerians are stuck like him but scared to admit.

When I’m chanced, I’m definitely going to make a post to bring to fore the senselessness of embarking on these evil mission where educational agents convince Nigerian Parents to part with thousands of dollars to go fund an economy where their children end up being aged caregivers and all sorts. They save to come ball in December and run back to continue from where they stopped. I hope only sane people with experience would comment under the post tho.

Most of these people don’t and can never get it. They think you’ve got some bourgeoisie mindset when in fact what you’re serving is basic free tip for useful minds to decipher.

Get off your high horses and face reality, because your family is wealthy to sponsor you and even give you allowances, doesn't mean every other student have such luxuries. The bigger than attitude we have in Nigeria is the reason we are, where we are now. There is dignity in Labour.

You can only work as a cashier in Tesco or Walmart? Do you know that those companies run graduate programs in business and IT fields?

The high fees you paid does not come with job offer by the school or the foreign govt., you are paying for the knowledge and certificate just like in Nigeria.
