Oh Chief!full compliment of U23 and Awoniyi will not be a starter?

Pls give me the full compliment of U23 starting eleven cos sometimes “i no dey understand how we dey” rate our players.

Some are special talent abi and whether they perform or not they deserve call up and non special talent need to work their socks off to get invitations.

If Osimeh,Iheanacho,Success and Kelechi Nwakili are special talents then Awoniyi is what

Boss truth be told Awoniyi deserve a place in eagles 25 man squad.

@ ur second to the last paragraph, well it looks like the coaches don't see Awoniyi as such (no offense intended,) that is just what it is. Even Success who plays in a more competitive league didn't make the squad list.

I laughed when I saw a commentet like "Rohr is not in charge". Even if you Sir Kog45 draws a 25man list your list will also be criticized.

That was a very fair list from Rohr in my opinion. Good morning all.

You think awoniyi deserves to be there ahead of Paul because he is in a better league and you don't think iheanacho deserved to be dropped maybe just because he is playing in the Epl

You are being controversial as usual

That's not a fact as you are being bias and not realistic

If you wanna say awoniyi deserves to be there not Paul to be dropped for him ,the earlier the better for you

Where did you see me write Paul Onuachu should be dropped?

Besides, how come you didn't say this when Kayode was dropped for Simeon?

As far as your list includes Awoniyi, Kayode, Ajajun it is fair

There is nobody that was supposed to make that list that is not there

When did I insist Paul Onuachu should be dropped?

Besides, last year, many here used better league standard to drop Kayode for Simeon Nwankwo.

What's problem if it's used this year?

Awoniyi should’ve taken Nacho’s spot. I don’t trust Nacho around our team. He’s not a serious guy and jokes around too much. An unnecessary distraction might I add.

Well on the Taiwo Awoniyi issue, me personally would drop nacho for him, though I didnt catch any of his game in Belgium but on this same thread i have liked, maybe 6 or 7 times when somone posted " Awoniyi scores", can't say the same for nacho....

He hasn't really impressed this season, ND I'm sure he is one of the guys in contention for the drop...well unless like someone noted earlier, he got rohr nudes....

Meanwhile I don't want them to drop the two Samuels, nor Simon(make d guy at least go one competition)...onuachu offers something more the last match he played SE....

My guts tells me nacho and Simon...I won't really understand if he drops someone else....or that ajayi guy,I've never seen him play before...

This is Nigeria where sentiments have beclouded many people sense of reasoning.

In a sane society, Awoniyi will make the list.

The List!
No surprises. Anyone who is surprised by this list clearly hasn't been following Rohr.
I don't understand why Junior Ajayi is on standby. Okereke would've been a better option.
I guess the likes of Okereke, Awonyi and Azubuike are strictly for the U23.

The U23 qualfiers would be early in June, except if we expect our U20 team to crash out early I see them still being in Poland then.

Since Chukwueze is not part of the U20 party then he should team up with the U23 team alongside Osimhen and other Eligible SE players.

The u-23 qualifiers has been postponed to September
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2023, 2025 And 2026 World Cup by Danielnino00(m): 8:58am On May 15, 2019
On the list: No surprise at all..Very typical of Rohr..

The two players to be dropped will most likely come from the attack.
Iheanacho could be the main victim if he doesn't impress in the friendly before the final list..And difficult as it may look to accept,Chukwueze spot in the team isn't guaranteed at all. He could be dropped! Even Osimhen! I dunno if Kalu is currently fit though, but if he is, his spot is also guaranteed.

if anybody is going to b dropped in defence, it would be Awazeim... Balogun with his lack of game time would still make the list based on his experience in the team..

Overall, Iheanacho, Chukwueze, Osimhen and Awazeim are the ones likely to be dropped!

Sometimes some Dudes beat your Imaginations and Expectations of them as regards to Fairness. How can Someone keep hammering that Awoniyi won't even make the U23 first XI for God's sake?!

First and foremost, it was he's playing in a lower League, forgiveness dropped an uncontestable Fact to checkmate it. Secondly it was the heroic Performance of Osimhen at the last U23 qualifying Match as if Awoniyi had not done the similar Feat in GwG.

Why shying away from the Question asked by Forgiveness?! How many Goals did he score before he was called over to the National Team?! Because Onuachu scored a Goal in his Debut Season, thus he's rated highly and better than Awoniyi now. I pray he doesn't turn to be another Ogbuke!

Though Forgiveness can be annoying at times, but he's right on Awoniyi's Exclusion From the List. He's in form, he's playing well for his Club, yet he's not even on the standby List. That's unfair!

Am I surprised that Iheanacho made the List? Capital No! Is he gonna be dropped? Capital No! Iheanacho is going to Egypt, same as Musa, Simon, Etebo, Ndidi, Mikel, Balogun, Ekong, Igbalo.

The Competition for the final List is between Onyekuru, Chuks, Osimhen, Onuachu and Kalu. Two of them are going to be dropped. They are talented, exceptional but they're not core Members of the Squad yet.

Besides why do we need 10 Attackers in the Squad at the Expense of Midfielders, especially attacking Midfielders?! Seem Rohr is thinking of of playing 4 - 2 - 4 Formation in Egypt? Two Strikers flanked by tricky, pacy Wingers who can as well operate as Wingbacks by covering up for the FBs if the need be.

End Note: In my Opinion, the List is fair enough. I have nothing against it, so is everyone on the List. And whoever makes the final Cut should count himself lucky and ready to die for the Color.
This is what I've been saying for ages now. When I heard Rohr had invited Azubuike but left him out to play for U23s - I thought dude had this in the back of his mind.
Honestly - I don't understand what Ogu is doing in the team. Maybe he's a leader or something. I would've preferred we took Mikel Agu or Azubuike over him.

Rohr will have faith in him and if he flops at the AFCON and his playing time doesn't improve, he'll go down the pecking order.

First off please when did we ever have an Iwobi vs Dele Alli argument here?

Talking about Awoniyi we are talking 2019 here. Awoniyi couldn't score in a 2019 U23 qualfiers and the Osimhen u are trying very hard to pull down because of him scored 3. That is what we are discussing here.

I have told u Osimhen is a special talent which was why Rohr picked him early. You cannot say same for Awoniyi who has even been struggling with form for a couple of years now.

Why didn't you give the same reason for Opabumi when Onigbide picked him at first? Or Opabumi wasn't a 'special talent' as at then?

Icon4s:
Why we failed at the 2002 WC.

3. Parading too many inexperienced players plus some players only took part in one or two friendlies. Batholomew Ogbeche, Femi Opabunmi, Justice Christopher, Efe Sodje. They were not tested but were trusted and lo they failed us.
What happened to their careers after that World cup?
Lesson, every player that will make the next world cup squad be tested and trusted.

How come you had a different reasoning?

Icon4s:

Recall his comment when asked abt y he took Adepoju(hu was virtually called back frm retirement) and Opabunmi to the 2002 WC when it was obvious they were nt good enough at that time to make d team.Remember he dropped Finidi George, Sunday Oliseh, Tijani Babangida and Victor Ikpeba. The Nigerian press tagged him a tribalist nt jst bc he picked Opabunmi and Adepoju ahead of the above mentioned Golden generation Eagles bt bc of the ethnocentric reason behind his decision. It was d Ibadan connection though Onigbinde is from Modakeke bt was based in Ibadan jst like Adepoju and Opabunmi.

U remember what he said when appointed Shooting stars coach for the 2003/2004 season? He said he wanted to build a 3SC team that will comprise only of the Yoruba players. 3SC managed to escape relegation that season and Onigbinde was fired grin.
Have u noticed he is d last Yoruba to coach d Super Eagles.

Although i still respect that man a lot. U know he laid d foundation for the rise of Gambian football.

Icon4 is inconsistent.

Today a player is special talent but tomorrow a player is inexperience. That's is just the double standard used to determine who plays in the 'National' team.

Who are the experienced strikers we have in the super Eagles now?

Onigbinde dropped Yakubu Aiyegbeni and took Opabunmi to the world cup.

Besides, Osimhen's rating at U17 was higher than that of Opabunmi. Which Nigerian U17 Player has ever scored a double digit in a single tournament? Osimhen is highest ever goal scorer at the U17 WC. Talentwise both players are not at par.

Mind you , if you are fair with ur reasoning, all along I have been against Osimhen's early inclusion into the national team until he proves himself at senior club level.

You cannot hinge on Osimhen's call up to keep crying over Awoniyi's exclusion. Both players are currently not on the same pedestal.
