Have you gotten your test results? What was the outcome?

LordReed:

When I look at a painting I know there is a painter because I have contemporary examples of painters painting. If I wished I could commission a painter to paint me a work of art. Similar with a building. In this god case there is no comtemporary example of a universe being created nor can you commission any type of god to create anything for you.

So if you had no comtemporary examples of painters painting you wouldn't have believed painters exist? undecided

LordReed:

It is good you that you acknowledged that your god idea is faith because you do not need faith to engage a builder or a painter, just get out your money or chequebook and they will readily oblige you. Your god on the other hand can be besieged with unceasing prayers night and day to no avail and when your prayers fail the standard response is god works in mysterious ways. If any builder or painter took your money and failed to deliver you'd immediately term him/her a fraud but with your god idea it is excuses upon excuses.

You need faith if you need to know the particular builder or painter. The fact that you have not seen them doesn't mean they don't exist, all you need to do is to check the record books and believe what is written about them.

LordReed:

Intuition is not proof, please try again and this time bring proof not conjecture.

Without faith you cannot please God. Try establishing any sort of friendship without faith and see how far that takes you. cool

Wow I had similar experience as an atheist . It blew my mind and made me a believer.
You were an atheist?

Believe me in my opinion, you're still talking gibberish and trying to justify your ingratitude to God by all these excuses you're coming up with, and showing that you're really not serious and probably why you became an atheist in the first place

I saw some of your last posts here and they were posts that openly made mockery of God and blasphemed His Holy name, and you said here that you stopped questioning since January 2018 but I have added some screen shots of some blasphemous comments I saw which you made on mid last year.

And even here in your op you talked about the girl knowing how irreligious you were, how you detested religion and how you were reluctant for her to pray for you, but here you are talking about atheism stopping to make sense to you, how you stopped being an atheist any more, and the kind of Christianity you practiced bla, bla, bla, so to me you were right when you said you were confused, for you're confused indeed.

You may be think i'm being too harsh on you, but you need to understand where i'm coming from is the point of hard truth, that you need to hear for your own good.

For if you say that you had left atheism and started practicing whatever kind of Christianity then how come no one here heard about that?

And worse still how could you not have come to testify of God's healing power you experienced when no one else was able to help you out from the life threatening sickness in the same place you were openly blaspheming his name?

I mean nothing concerning that being mentioned here on Nairaland shows your extent of ingratitude to Him.

And it had to happen again to you but still yet all you could say is that you're confused.

Perhaps it's better that you have even revealed that she was an ex-prostitute so at least that should show you how God works, for God uses the foolish and weak things of this world to confound the wise and strong respectively, for she the ex- prostitute was the same one that told you to go back to God, meaning that she had done the same, and hence made herself a vessel for God to use to this extent.

So my friend instead of wasting time trying to explain yourself, try to right your wrongs and ingratitude this time for you've been given a several chances already and maybe this is your last one.

As you can clearly see I have even shown more appreciation of this your story more than yourself, for I believe it's something that atheists as your former self need to hear.

Yeah, God can use even an ex-prostitute to achieve something that seemed pretty much impossible here on Nairaland, CONVERT ATHEISTS TO BELIEVERS.

Thank you.
Will you stop being brash? Who do you think you are? Can't you see he is going through something?

Unless there was a major modification of the human genome resulting in certain abilities being lost there is no reason to believe that something we were capable of for the past few thousand years we no longer can. I will have to see evidence for why there are no longer any contemporary painters.

The faith you speak about with your god is not the same faith you speak about with relationships with other humans. You god faith is "evidence of things not seen", while in relationships you trust in already established capacity. It is 419 people that ask you to have faith in things you have not seen or capacities that have not been demonstrated. If your friend that has no job or business asks you to borrow him 100million Naira to pay back next week, will you give him?

As for people's work, yes you don't need to have seen them to know that it is their work but they have many contemporary ways of identifying the work as theirs. At least ever since we developed the tools to record our history we have done it reliably well. Ownership of work has usually had to be recorded with the extant authorities of the day so no bagga can come and claim what is not his. These records are usually public so you can't tell me I need faith in unseen things when records are available.

I can't help but recall how Bishop Oyedepo's wife was bed ridden for years and received extensive medical care. If there was any thing different that such a person does to receive results shouldn't his wife have been a 1 number one candidate to have it? Why did she receive extensive medical attention if it was just a matter of faith (her name sef na Faith lol)? She even used a wheelchair at some point. Abeg guys I need real proof not wishy washy nonsense.
Hahahahahahaha. She was sick for 10 months. And she was not diagnosed with any ailment, so was not treated for anything.
When you tell your lies, pls check your facts.

And, Living Faith Church is not against medical Care that is why there's a free clinic (Gilead) in every branch church where the medical Brethren give their free services to help the sick.

When nothing was found wrong with her, all she took was communion.

Lordreed, stop lying or you don't know what actually happened.

She wrote a book about it, 'Delivered From Destruction', it's all there, read it if the demons in you will let you.

LoL! I thought your god gave you power over demons, why don't you cast them out na? Why are you conversing with a demon occupied human? Your power don finish? LoL!

Yes I confess I was going off sketchy memory of Faith Oyedepo's ailment and I never read the book but it doesn't detract from the point being made. If there was some kind of supernatural power at work why did it take 10months? Did any miracle of healing in the bible take even 1 week? Did the supposed Jesus take 1 week to effect any healing? Did he not supposedly say greater works shall you do? Is Oyedepo not supposedly a sent prophet of the god? Why is their own healing in stark contrast to the so called miracles in the bible?

Go back to the Lady, appreciate the gift of God in her life, be open minded and ask her what you seek to know, while doing so drop all your belief, they may be your blockage; they are shocking the word of God you have received. Christianity is as simple as believing by faith in the redemption work of Christ and conducting your life according to His word.

Admit that you lied. If someone wasn't here who knows the truth, you'd ve gone one with your lies.

If we believers don't get sick, how can the power of divine healing be exhibited? Or, is there divine healing on a healthy Person?

Oh, you believe the healings in the Bible? That's impressive.

Most importantly, She is healed. Healed by taking communion. She is alive and strong.

Yep unlike you dishonest folk I can admit when I make a mistake and yes i was incorrect about how long it was.

Nope I don't believe your fairytales called bible but it is instructive to show how deluded you are to believe in supernatural mumbo jumbo when it has no real life demonstration.

What we know is people can go into remission for even life threatening diseases with or without prayer. Your supernatural fairytales say the process of supernatural healing is virtually immediate and on command so the ultra powerful Oyedepo could not command the sickness for 10 months? Some of the big men of God that died in the past 20 years died of one ailment or the other, Oral Roberts pneumonia, Kenneth Hagin heart attack, Idahosa heart attack. It is all just mumbo jumbo.

No it just means I am not convinced especially if it is a claim that is not reasonable or does not fit the facts at hand.
