"You have to report your world income (income from all sources both inside and outside Canada) earned after becoming a resident of Canada for income tax purposes on your Canadian tax return." https://www.canada.ca/en/revenue-agency/services/tax/international-non-residents/individuals-leaving-entering-canada-non-residents/newcomers-canada-immigrants.html Orange1234: 3 Likes 5 Shares |

You can sit in those seats if they are available but be ready to give them up if a pregnant woman, elderly etc come on the bus. Sitting and getting up if someone who needs it comes up does not lead to embarrassment. The sign clearly says you must give it up if one of such people come on it doesn’t say do not sit on it even if no disabled or elderly is on the bus. amdman: 6 Likes 1 Share

joo2018: You're not taxed on the income you bring from Nigeria... You just report it so as to calculate your benefits... Like GST.... It does not form part of taxable income. 7 Likes 7 Shares |

Kindly clarify. I definitely want to learn. The OP stated that it was foreign income after he became a PR. So factual and deemed residents are not taxed? primeson1: 1 Like |

ttmacoy: The poster is kind of right. One thing you need to realize is not all disabilities are visible. Canadians are also not confrontational so someone might actually need the seat and not want to ask you to get up. You also would not realize they need the seat because their disability is not visible. In general I'd avoid seating on those priority/reserved spots. 21 Likes |
