Ogbeni forget this long talk.....These people u mentioned are on another level and I understand rich people get depressed too. But the reason for the sudden massive suicidal trend In Nigeria now, Most especially among the Youth Is POVERTY Besides the rate at which poor and an average citizens commits suicide Is Incomparable to the former. So u people saying the rich commits suicide as well doesn't really have a point.

Depression is a result of impasse which the victim has no
solution in their head of how to overcome often because this
situation has no actual or immediate solution or the healing
process takes quite long. It is a kind of long term
sadness, nothing will seem to take your mind out easily.
if you can't afford a psychologist, this is what you can do.
1. You must hang around things and people that takes
your attention, e. g discussions, playing games, watch the
movies you like,
2. have a blackboard(someone that listen to all your
complains without getting bored and do not advice you
directly)
3. A reinforcer(a person whose job is to ensure you do
normal task like eating, feeding, goto work and do things
you find attractive).
4. Lastly, the person that would ensure you start tackling
the situation realistically either by finding a job or learning
how to forget people you have lost. he may need to refer
you to a professional if need be.
This person can be one person and the activity you find
attractive can be one or two. By weeks you would
improve. I am a living witness.

After listening the person should be able to tell you what he has learnt from your story. or what he thinks he noticed that you might not have taken notes. Not like an advice though, but more of like throwing light to something, to make you see it in a much broader way.

your mother isn't too fit to occupy this position. you are not looking for and advice here. you need a better way of thinking that is all, you need someone to understand your story and tell you what they discover, this could be the breakthrough for you. Depression most time is when the brain has run out of possible ways of thinking.

Asides my mother there’s no other person I can think of, everyone judges or thinks I need some sort of prayer or deliverance. The only person who used to not judge me and listen to me, happens to have fallen out of love with me. And with the rest of my friends, a problem shared is a problem to mocked with someday soon

However, suicide should not be the last resort, even though it could seem like a relief from unbearable pain and misery.

Luckily, there are ways to subdue suicidal thoughts that can move you away from hurting yourself and getting your life back on track. It is not an exact science, but we have spoken to professionals, and these are ten ways to deal with depression and suicidal thoughts.

1. Talk to Someone

Never feel like you are alone. Reach out to friends and family members you trust and tell them exactly how you feel. If you can’t access family members, there are call help centers and organizations like MentallyAwareNG that you can also call and tell your problems, and help will be sent to you.

2. Stay away from any thing that you could use to harm yourself

When you begin to develop these suicidal thoughts try and stay away from any potentially harmful object or substance, whether knife, poison or sniper.

3. Seek help from a counsellor

There are those who are professionally trained to offer help in these type of situations, reach out to one and relay how you feel exactly. These counselors will guide you on how to get rid of the depression and suicidal thoughts.

4. Seek religious help

Churches, mosques, or any religious house often offer counseling and help in these situations. If you are religious, reach out to your pastor, imam, guru, etc., let them help you .

5. Find a distraction

Try as much as possible not to stay idle. Go out as much as much as you can, go out with friends and have a good time. Staying at home alone will definitely rekindle and aggravate those suicidal thoughts. Hence, when your mind is distracted the thoughts of taking your life will gradually fade away.

6. Suicidal thoughts are just thoughts.

Some will argue they’re not just thoughts, but for the purpose of fighting it, convince yourself that they are just thoughts, and you do not have to act on them. Let them continue to remain thoughts and do not let them overshadow you.

Sleeping and resting regularly is very important in these type of situations. Hmm that one strong o but actually church has not being a place to treat depression. You can find like and Godly minds in a church but not necessarily a place to treat depression although churches has started encouraging their pastors and leader to take counselling courses.
