I cant go up there and check it. Am scared bro. My pop ceiling has started showing some crack. Maybe the weight of the thing is responsible.

Someone suggest i should throw boiled egg inside the ceiling...
Fumigate or throw activated carbide lumps in the roof. It will pursue the snake.

The Snake is only up there while we r down here, we don't ever see.long time ago,i Went to fix light bulb in the ceiling that's when i noticed snake skin.

The only place it could come out from is the man hole in the ceiling the man hole is well covered too. Ceiling is POP made, so the snake is well sealed up . i left it for 2 years thinking it would die of hunger. Surprisingly, it did not. Like GarbaAudu mention the thing been feeding on wall geckos( omo online).

Bro this your excuse of "it's living up while we're down" is not very good. It sounds like you're enjoying the company of the snake.

You didn't have to wait 2 years before seeking solution.

2 years? Where do you stay?

Boiled eggs actually kill snakes. They cant digest the shell so it kinda chokes them to death.
.

Boiled egg no dey work ooo, I remembered some years back that a very big black snake used to parade our house every night although it was outside the house but we do see its activities almost everyday around the house, like swallowing eggs laid by hens, dead hen which is half swallowed as it couldn't swallow the body after the neck so the snake vomited it back. So the plan was set into play we cooked like 5eggs this snake finished every but this time went for like 4days without noticing its activities. And later came around again. What we later did was this 1. We boiled some eggs 2. We bought 5 hook used in fishing, with a strong rope ( used by shoe maker to repair shoe) while the other end of the rope was tied to a stationary tree 3. Lastly we imbedded the hook inside the egg. As usual the snake came, swallowed the eggs and was set to leave when the hook detached from the egg and hooked its mouth. Lo and behold naa that spot we meet am the following morning, come and see how this snake dey fresh. Naa person eat am Shaa oooo.

GarbaAudu:

If you have seen the long skin shade, then it's most likely a black cobra. It has a strong survival skill and can adapt to any unhealthy environment, holes, dark spaces etc. If you are sure you don't have rats/rodents in the house then the serpent is feeding on wall geckoes. That explains why it survived this long. If you are really convinced that you have a snake up there, then your best option is to call the service of Hausa snake charmers. Any other options will be dangerous as the snake will be threatened by the invasion of its territory. It can fight to death. If you are in the north, snake charmers are everywhere. If you are in Lagos, you can get them in IdiAraba, Obalende, Mile12, or even Agege. For a fee of N10, 000 they can safely remove any poisonous reptile from your house.
I think this is the most perfect advice for him.good one bro. Do as he said.

Hello everyone,

There is snake living in my roof. It has been over 2 years now the reptile has been living in there. I first noticed it sometimes in 2017 when i saw snake skin in my roof. I have blocked all entry holes for lizard and the likes thinking the snake would die or leave due to starvation ....but it didnt leave and the snake seems to be thriving in there. I dont know what its eating.

I taught of fumigation but i think the snake can escape the fumigation odor because it can easily hide in the deep block holes.

I cant go in there, as am writing this i can hear the snake moving all about in my attic.

What can i do to get rid of it?

MODS: If its not too much i want this in front page for better audience or opinions.
I strongly believe it's an alligator or a monitor lizard.......
But if not poison the egg b4 putting in the roof.......
Or even get a camera up in the roof along side the eggs

Bro the simplest fumigation for snake is very cheap.
Just slice onions and put it in your ceiling or any where you think it might be. I promise you that snake can not stay their for 1min before rushing out.
Just be at alert because it will use full speed to run out.

If this don't work. Come back here to call me bastard.

The snake charmers i know dont go searching for snakes by climbing ceilings et all, they have some juju on them that detects if there is a snake within the vicinity and draws the snake out.

I guess who you called was not a real snake man.

Be careful on your return. Make sure the toilet seat is well covered at all times and always lit. If truly theres a snake up there, you guys have invaded its territory with that sniper et all and it will fight back. Probably has offsprings too. I think you should look for a proper snake charmer.
can snake live inside the toilet water system mine is always open but always neat

Ezi okwu? Snake that can digest a live animal? Issorait.
Boiled eggs kinda works, I am not sure if it actually kills them but I have used boiled eggs to immobilize snakes before killing them.

@Op, pound dry corn and bitter kola and spread the powder in every corner of the house, get it into the ceiling if you can and then make a passage for it to move out in peace(If you don't wanna kill it). It works instantly.

grin like snake wouldn't be able to digest boiled egg. So the eggs eventually kills it.

This is very correct. The best thing to kill a snake with is boiled egg or you can insert pins or needles in the egg too.
A snake's best food is egg. Why? When it swallows an egg, it will climb a height and throw itself down so the egg can break and digest.
Cooked egg will not but choke it then make it weak after continuous falls, then it is easy to kill.
As per the animals it swallows, it will me moving sluggish due to the weight and easy to kill too. That's why people kill them easily after going to poultry.
If it escapes with the animal in its belly, it will have to go and hide somewhere for it to rotten and start to digest. When it has something choking it, it is very easy to kill or it gets choked by the egg that cannot digest.
Some people put stone in the egg systematically and seal it.
For a big one like the one he is talking about, don't know if it can work

Follow what this person has said ooo. Since the snake is at the top of the roof, more likely in a hole, I can tell you that that snake is a black cobra( Naga specie).

That type of cobra is very agressive, they ain't affected by fumigation, onions, bitter kola, carbide or planting lemon grass.

My cousin left the room window open, and there was a hole on the net. That black cobra climbed the fence, from the fence, it stretched it's head and rolled over the rope we use to spread cloth, from the rope it entered through the hole in the net.

I wanted to go out and get something( I was the only one at home that night) , but before going, something told me to flash torch light at the curtain ,as I flashed light at the curtain, loo and behold I saw a long fat black cobra rolling itself on the black rod. I blinded its eyes with the rechargeable lamp I bought.

I can't fight or slaughter the snake alone, so I decided to keep the snake company by continuously talking and gingering myself. After 30 mins, my sis and mom came back home. They came in and saw me flashing light in the room. I told them to come and see. Immediately they both saw it, the shouted and began to shiver.

I then told my sis that our cousin left the window open and left for work. So I told her to go and call like 4 guys. She came back with them.

As I showed them the snake, to my greatest surprise, the 4 guys began to fight one another saying, " na me get the snake oo, na me go chop am" others were also saying same."

After I settled on how the snake would be shared, we all went in and the killing began.

I hit the head, it fell and began to roll in an unspecified direction, it was very fast, the other guy got the middle part by slicing it with a cutlass. The snake hurriedly crawled under the wardrobe. One of the guys quickly got the head as we shifted the wardrobe.

The snake died instantly and it's head was decapitated immediately.

I know the risk we took in killing that snake.

So Op please just call a snake charmer because that one on your roof might be able to spit. Its spit is very harmful to the eyes if not washed properly.

Also note that mating season is coming, June, July, august, be expecting like 4 to 5 of them.

Act quickly before june.

OR

You can buy a pussy cat, they are threat to snakes.

It's just like a kidnapper living next to you.

The cat is the ''kidnapper'' while the snake is the ''you"

It's very dangerous to live close to a kidnapper because one day dem fit kidnap or kill the person. So it is with cat and snake.

There is only two animals that can kill a snake but you can't find them in Nigeria or import them.

They are;

1. Mongoose

2. Honey badger( even lions are afraid of honey badger)

When snake bits these animals, the venom travels straight to its heart, the venom gets neutralized and becomes harmless, it bounces back through their veins.
