She argued many Nigerias too would gouge off the state if they had access to such generous welfare programs like this here in Nigeria.

Sadly, this woman maybe one of those types. Worse, she has set a bad example to her children especially her daughter(s) that laziness pays. The daughter may end up being a single mother to enjoy state benefits. Perverse incentives showered by the state.

I prefer rich Oriental Asian countries that don't have welfare policies that encourage sloth.

Emphasis is on the word REASONABLE. Women like the one u talked about are in the minority.

I can tell you for free that before a woman takes any major decision affecting her family life, she must have weighed her options thoroughly and concluded she is better alone than with the man. Hence, the financial benefits may just be jara.

There far more unreasonable people out there than you think. I get to deal with people in the closest possible manner. Something relatively few people (in general population) get to do. On the surface the lady I mentioned would pass for the friendliest, happiest, most reasonable and nicest person. Except to us who know her well.
Many of those decent people you see have very dark sides.


Many women also over-estimate their smartness and judgement in love matters. I have mentioned it here on NL often. My female friends date some guys whom as a guy you know they are very unserious. But tell your beautiful, intelligent, educated and lovely female friend about it and see her response. She will tell you that she is not a kid. That she knows what you want. Some will even say you are jealous.

With time I stopped telling them. But my predictions hardly ever goes wrong. Either the heartbreak comes during dating or later in marriage. Of late the rate after 6 months to two years of marriage is alarming. Too many misplaced priorities going into marriage. And leavin too.

In diaspora with less stigma attached, lots of women will walk out without weighing it much. But later they'll realise that even freedom has a price.
In the West, a far higher number of blacks in jail come from a single parent family. Usually with mother only, Sure not in all cases did the mother jusyt walked out. Some are deadbeat dads.

At the end, all those judgement some women make that the pasture is greener (when no domestic violence/abuse or serious neglect is involved) on the other side hardly works. Even less with three kids in tow.

I haven't but I do read magazines like the The Economist which worries about the entrenchment of the underclass through welfare policies and a poor public educational system.

The system needs to change. However, the system is untouchable as it is an an enormously complicated system too big to be reformed by partisan politicians. It's even worsened by the fact that welfarism as practised in America has some populist appeal

He can. He needs to inform the Spanish authorities. She will be notified shortly and demanded to bring back the children until the court decides about custody rights. That is if he is legally there and registered as their father. With Nigerian men you never know

Everybody pleaded with her that in whatever way the man has wronged her, she should forgive him. That they have three kids to raise together.

It also happened soon after her marriage to him qualified her for a European passport. And just about to finish her studies. Till today, she did not even listen to her kids who love their dad and want him back. Years have passed now.

At times women calculate that they are financially better off single due to benefits from the state. The selfish ones take that route. Whether hubby is good or not.

Don't blame her. Your friend or whoever took her youth from her. She is regretting getting married. Lots of women who married at tender ages are in that position.

Lol. She was not that young o. I doubt when married that she was under age of 25. She missed out on education in 9ja. On getting abroad, she had to settle with hubby and start having kids. After the last kid she began university. Many immigrants study at older age.

Men can't look after someone else's kids in this economy but women can take care of their kids without a father in this economy. Yeah, makes total sense.

But welfarism American style is decimating African American families. I'm glad that some welfare reform was passed by Clinton but was largely drawn up by the Republicans. He only endorsed it.

I don't know how much they make but unfortunately, there are Nigerian women who thinks collecting child benefits is everything. The funny thing is that the average sum of social funding available doesn't seem like a lot but to them, I guess it is a lot. So your lack of experience doesn't mean they don't exist. A couple of years ago, it was a rumour but now it isn't.

It is your choice to ask around but don't make it sound someone has a grudge against Nigerian women.
