Please is Pharmacy really that hard because I've been seeing comments here on NL how pharmacy is even more harder than medicine and it's making me kind of scared because I don't want to struggle in school.

Nairalanders, pls I need your opinion on this issue. Thanks

You don't want to struggle in school. As if anything good comes easy. Struggles full everywhere, brace yourself. And pay now so you can play later

It just that if you go below a particular score which a pass for other courses is considered a fail in pharmacy, for uniport if you fail a particular number of courses I think 4 or so you will repeat that class and the lowest you can get is a D, mind your pharmacy is a lucrative profession.

Study courses you can stand on your own even if you don't get a job. Using engineering as an example a petroleum engineer must work in a company to practice his profession but a civil engineer can be self-employed. Those in the sciences usually end up being school teachers or lecturers best case scenario except the geologist (drilling coy) and a few others.

Choose your courses wisely and the school as well- looking at Electrical Engineering in Uniben is the easiest of all engineering but is the most difficult in uniport. A medical doctor from Delta state university is the same as a medical doctor from Uniben don't let the name of a school becloud your judgment and finally a first-class from Ekpoma will be attended to first before a 2.2 from Bells university.

Really, electrical is the easiest in Uniben? Is that what you heard or you have reasons?
Graduated from uniben. The easiest department in engineering.

I find it difficult to believe. Everyone is different! I am a medical student and I have never read more than 2 hours in a day. I am still doing well and making good use of my time. As a student, you only have to study smart!

Thought as much. You've still not stated your reasons. Like why is it considered the easiest?
The lecturers are lenient, they repeat past questions alot most times word for word.

Pharmacy is not easy but with determination and hard work, you can scale through.
Every semester is a new struggle and you've got like 10 semesters to face( aside 100l).
You'll face 6 departments and each of these departments competes with others for which is tougher than others!

You've got both practicals and theory classes to cover every semester and in some schools like Uniben, practical and theory exams are taken separately and you must score at least 50% to pass (some courses are 60%).

The materials are usually voluminous and you should also be good in calculations. So, it involves reading large volume of works and also doing some calculations.

Imagine a scenario where nine lecturers took a course in say pharmacology, each lecturer leaving you with large materials of his/her aspects of the course to cover. Then during exam, only 5 lecturers set exams and you don't know who among them would set or who would not set, so you've got no choice than read every damn thing. If you fail to cover all the materials, you might get into the exam hall only to discover that your questions are exactly those ones you didn't read!

It's not easy but a dedicated person can do it!

The secret is, never take anything for granted!

Pharmacy is the hardest course to study in Nigeria. Harder than Dentistry, harder than medicine or even veterinary medicine.
But it is not insurmountable.

Some people go 5-8 hours a day, I go less than 2 hours and I have been doing well. What works for one may not work for another... Just know yourself and act smartly. I have already passed my first Mbbs and in my clinical years
