Cross multiply

X = (2000 * 100)/125

X = $1,600

At this stage it no more by qualifications or recommendation or long legs, it is by grace and preparation. You passed the test, you move to the final stage.

I beg to differ on your answer. $1600 is not 75℅ of $2000 ($1500) which is the exact amount he purchased the painting.

He is correct. Say the initial price is x.
Then x + 0.25x = 1.25x

1.25x = 2000

X = 2000/1.25

X = 1600
