We are so accommodating we have lost ourselves. Everywhere we allow foreigners settle with us and live in our midst and reap the benefit of our land. Our good is now haunting us big time. Well, I know for sure that Oba Ewuare is a very very war like Oba and he doesn't take nonsense. He is also very smart, he would not make it look like an Ethnic fight, he would use government as an instrument in achieving his aim and everything would be done within the context of the Law.

Careful analysis of this issue reveals Benin holds the aces .

The governor of the state is a Benin man. Most of the law makers are from Benin.

They are backed by constitutional power and authority. The Benis don't need to engage in street fight to win this. The governor only needs to give a directive to be enforced by the security agencies.

It is not true. Most of Nigerian census has always pointed to Ibibio or Tiv to be the fourth. How come it is only Ijaws that keep saying they're the fourth? I'm very confident that Urhobos are more than Ijaws. Check any government establishment (university, hospitals etc.) you'll be amazed that Urhobos are more than Ijaws. For Christ sake, they live in riverine areas and not lands. Urhobos are even popular in Nigeria than Ijaws. Speak the truth for once in your life

that's what he's doing.
The ijaw can't stop him from building an estate in the community,the ijaws can only shout but can't stop the governor or senator from buying the lands in those areas and putting Benin people in it.

The work on the sea port will begin in 2020 and there's no single ijaw name in the building plan.

If gelegele is a Bini town/port, then there would be no need for all these fracas. There's even a supposed proof of ownership by the Bini. Why is the government wasting time? Are they confused?

What many people don't understand is that, people don't even talk about this Ijaw issue much here, because people still see it as a Government fight not a community fight. There are many Benin communities that enclose ijaw communities and they still live side by side. The ijaws know this, they know that the day they attack a Benin Village and kill innocent people, that day it will be a street fight. For now people just see it as a government issue.
If it becomes a communal issue, then you will know that anybody can buy guns and boys can shoot very well. I have the ijaws living around some communities here and they don't make trouble with the local people.
Let the ijaws allow development enter into that place...let them stop being backward abeg

The previous Oba of Benin was a very very peaceful monarch. Oba Ewuare isn't a peaceful monarch. He won't rest until his plan for Gelegele is achieved and he would use all instruments available to him. He has friends and he is versatile. The ijaws in gelegele will no longer enjoy peace and calm as they did during Erediawa time. I feel for them, they should come to the table and dialogue. Ijaw occupying all those places you mentioned doesn't make them the fourth largest ethnic group. Bayelsa is bigger than all the states in the SE and bigger than some states in the SS and SW but it is the least populated state in Nigeria. Their population in other states plus their population in Bayelsa is still not enough to crown them as the 4th largest ethnic group in Nigeria.

My broda the relationship between the ijaws and Igbo has more to do with common interest, ijaws feel oppressed and marginalized and same for the Igbos , so we kinda feel the need to support them for justice and equality. I feel if the Yoruba and Igbos get along it ll be good for the southern Nigerian to finally end the northern political dominance.

Your thesis doesn't sound very accurate. The Bini are one of the tribes in Edo State, right? Therefore, Biniland is a part of Edo State.
