Still won't work. Will your uncle use 100% of his money just for you while you ain't his child. Why not check if you can get loan from prodigy or mpower to support the One you have.

I have his income tax returns too, he earns $90000 per year, can i use that to support my case.

I just want to point out , a salary of $90,000 a year comes to about $65,000 a year after tax . You still have to factor the owner of this salary will pay Mortage or Rent , Food , Clothes and other bills . Easily that can slash that 65,000 to half of what is left or less than half . If he has children and family then there hardly anything left self. Then to tell a VO that person would sponsor a non biological child with that figure 38k on a 90k salary

Let pray you are just ask on a high-level who is your sponsor and what does he do, without going into breakdown of salary . Once you start breaking it down, you see it not easy for someone working abroad to fully sponsor someone. but Nigerians never believe. Some people have successfully sponsored but its not easy and kudos to those sponsors . A man earning 90k in the US with a family is not a rich man at all, so welldone to him

Hello Gurus in the house. I Seek your advise some weeks ago that if to deposit my tuition fee before going to embasy make sences but you advise me to abort the mission. my admission comes without funding; Tuition fee of $23k and living expenses of 14k. I later wrote to the Academic Chairman to please give me funding if truly he want me to come and study in his institution and for visa sake. He sent a letter to me that he has reduce the tuition by $ 16k and Stipends of 5800 Per semester but its for Second year of my program but second semester of my first year wil be consider if per chance fund is available but is not commiting him self for that. Now, my interview is nest week , although, i have my corporate account that covers all expenses. Pass me your i 20 and passport, do i need to give him the letter immediately since the funding is not written on I 20, or i should allow him to request for who is funding my program.
I Have bachelor degree in Mineral Resource Engring and i am going for Msc in Mineral Resouces Engineering at New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology. I will apreciate your advise.

Good morning guys, my visa was denied day before yesterday June 3 at Lagos 6.45am appointment .

Here is my transcript
Me: Good morning madam
VO (A young white lady): did not even answer. (She had denied a lot of people before my turn)
VO: your passport and I20
ME: I passed it.
VO: why are you going to the US?
ME: I am going to the US to pursue my master degree in information security and Assurance, I paused a while, before I added at Johnson and Wales university Providence Rhode Island
VO: what will this course do for you?
ME: there are efforts made by government and private institutions to combat the cybercrimes that are prevalent in our economy, there are limited security experts to join fight this menace. I felt she wasn't even listening or not feeling what I was saying. She cuts me off.
VO: how did you hear about the school?
ME: in 2017, Bcie organised an edu fair in ikeja, that was where I heard about the schools, and also some of their representatives were on ground for the edu fair
VO: did you apply to other school?
ME: yes I did
Vo: mention them.
Me: I did
Vo: did you write any entrance exams?
Me: yes GRE
Vo: who is paying for this
Me: my uncle, he's more or less like a father
Vo: what does he do?
Me: he has a printing press company In Lagos Ekitu and kwara. She cuts me again, (I wanted to add that his company is responsible for printing state government materials and all educational materials for primary sec and tertiary institutions and also into property and estate management.
Vo: are you married,?
Me: I said yes.
Vo: pass me my docs and a pink paper.
Me: I left devastated.

Sincerely this happened within 3mins. She didn't allow me express myself. The way she asked the questions as if let me ask you and give u pink paper and go. She doesn't feel concern at all.

Cost of attendance on i20 is $34000

I do not have any funding, I can only get it during second semester, I was expecting her to ask me questions about why d school, your plans after school and others I have prepared for.

What can I do better? Please advise before I take the next line of action. I don't want to rush to reapply, what should I do please?

Cgpa: 2.93 GRE: 279.

Sorry for your denial but your responses did not cut it at all.

What will this course do for you?
Personalize your response. Forget about Nigerian government and talk about the skills you will get and how it will be relevant when you return. Be specific. The VO wants to hear progression and wants to see that you know what you want to get out of the degree. You are going for information security, you can talk about penetration testing, threats hunting, white hat hacking, brute force attacks, encryption, hashing with salt, cyber security pyramid of pain and various cloud computing security concepts. Do your research and show that you know what you getting from your program.

Apply same styles to your other possible interview questions and you might get it on your next attempt.

You can nail this, don't give up

Pass me your I20
Don't pass anything other than the I20.
Doing otherwise will be too much show of desperation.

You have to wait till when the VO asks who's funding you before you start explaining and them say you have a letter from the school to show.
Till then don't show anything.

If you want to make things easier for you,
Kindly reschedule your interview and request a new I20 that reflects all your funding you say you have gotten.

Because the VO works with what is on the I20.

Reschedule your interview and ask your school to send you a new i20 reflecting your funding. The authenticity of the letter clarifying your funding might not be easy to prove to the V.O. The best way they can get it is through the i20. So get a new i20 please.

How did you hear about the school?
Your response is too shallow.
Can you go ahead to name some credible educational resources you must have used ?
Carnegie classification, Princeton Review, Usnews.com and all that?

Why power system and control specialization?

Which kyn response be that one?
Are you going there to play? Kindly go and do some deep research on that field and how it connects to your career.

Why electrical engineering?/
Ok you started making some positive statements here..
Refine it more!

What will this course do for you?

It is expected that after obtaining a Masters degree , lots of transformations would occur, such as career advancement, pay rise...
You should paint a picture of how the degree will equip you with requisite knowledge related to your field and how it will spur you back here in Nigeria.

What have you been doing since then?

Your response is confusing!
They want to know about your professional experience and if it is substantial enough for a home tie .

Why would he sponsor you?
He promised?
Promise ke!
Kindly work on that.
