CHAPTER ONE
A BEAST EGG
Remi, now fully grown and muscular, he didn’t look younger or older for a twenty year old kid, as each day went by, he grew stronger with his powers which seemed to be limitless, the last defender of Ayenireti, a true breed of a god, a true soul, at least that is what the gods had described him as.
He held his spare tight in his right hand and slowly walked into the dark cave, which looked endless, his eyes turned with, which enabled him to see clearly in the dark, he knelt down and placed his hand into a giant footstep that didn’t seem to look like that of a human, at least from description it was what he thought to be a giant lizard.
He continued into the cave, the only sound that came from it was the dripping sound of water, that dropped every few seconds simultaneously. He halted seeing two huge eggs that were few meters away from him, he could feel life form in it, the more he moved closer the more he felt a stronger connection to the egg that stood about four feet in height. He paused at the echoing sound that came from the inner part of the cave like something was in real pain.
He knew whatever had these eggs was what made the horrible screeching sound. Remi walked further, passing beside the eggs which moved a little as he passed beside them. Remi slowly walked into the inner part, crawling he peeped from the corner where he was to see what made the noise.
He opened his mouth wide in surprise, right before him, what he saw, was a giant lizard, which he was sure could run the whole of a city even one bigger than Ayenireti down, with great wings the lizard possessed and a long scaly tail, with horns on its head, Remi watched as the creature screeched in pains and breathed fire from its mouth. Remi stood up and slowly walked towards the beast.
“hey” he said and lowered his spare by the tail of the beast, which quickly turned at him and gave him a threatened screech, Remi flashed his white eyes thrice and still slowly walked towards the beast.
“Seems you are in pain?” Remi said raising his head up, this creature still stood about 20 feet taller than him.
To his surprise the beast gently lowered its head on the floor and carefully Remi placed his hands on it, lightly taking it by the horn and slowly the beast drew its last breath and gently closed its eyes.
Remi studied it and knew it had gave up the ghost.
“Poor thing” He said “How come you have lived here and no one knows about you? Remi asked not expecting an answer
He ran back to where the eggs laid and carefully he placed his hands on them both, he smiled as he felt the life form flowing through him into the eggs and gasp before moving away.
“Know, lets find a way of moving you out”

Emi stood up from the throne after a brief meeting with the village newly appointed elders, and headed straight to his own home, he was now human, since about 13 years ago, the gods had collected what belong to them, so they could also sustain their own existence.
Emi arrived home seeing Ajanaku and Ogunjimi entertaining themselves with the local “ayo opon”. Emi felt happy, knowing they had a long year 13 years of peace.
“Ahh, am tired” Emi complained and sat next to Ajanaku.
“Now you know what it means to be human” Ajanaku said and they all laughed at the joke
“Well on Eri and his father, still has their power, apart from the true blood” Ogunjimi said, and played his turn.
While they were busy making fun of themselves, Remi opened the wooden gate that led to the compound and rolled a cart inside, and continued till he got to where the elders were.
“Mo ri nkan (I saw something)’ Remi said with wild excitement on his face .
Without waiting for them to reply, he ran to the back of the cart and removed the clothe he used in covering the eggs. Everyone stood up in surprise at the egg, and at how huge it was.
“Where did you get that from?” Emi asked and took a step closer.
“I saw this inside a cave and a very huge lizard with wings” Remi said excitedly “I can feel life form in these eggs, and I cant wait for them to hatch, so I can see what surprise awaits me”
“Did you say a huge lizard with wings?” Eri asked and walked out of the hut alongside Ireti
“Yes, baba, with stong scaly tail and a horn on the head” Remi replied
Eri stood motionless, the look on his face could tell he knew something about it.
“Is there something you are hiding from us?” Ajanaku asked.
Eri looked from one eyes to another and finally spoke
“I have been having this dream of a flying lizard, which spites fire from its mouth, but I thought it was just a mere dream” Eri said
“Eledumare” Remi shouted and elevated into the air “They can fly” He said again and moved the cart towards the empty hurt in the compound.
“Did you see anything else?” Ireti asked placing her hands on his shoulder.
“Like a war is coming, and Remi was the only one I saw defending, was like, we never existed” Eri said quietly.
“Hmmmm, the great war is near, this egg, is a sign, remember we have heard different sayings, seen signs and dreams and heard even from gods, that we wont witness this war” Emi said gently
“Remi does not know what lies ahead” Ajanaku said and had his seat beside the game, he and Ogunjimi had used to entertain themselves.

IRETI placed a colorful attire on Emi trying to see how it fits on his body. She squinted her eyes and shook her head in disapproval.
"The white Ankara fits you better, with a notch of red on it, wait let me get it" IRETI said and walked towards the bed
"Your mother never bothered me with attires to wear" Emi said, patiently waiting for IRETI to do as she wish.
"You are meeting top leaders, emperors from over the world, head of states, I don't want my father to look less" She said and pulled out the cloth from among the pile of other clothes.
"A party I don't want to attend "
"Well, the way you fought against slavery has put you top of the list of special guest, ignoring it will be a sign that you still have hatred for the whites, which you dont" IRETI said and placed the cloth on him.
"Well, the greater war is still coming"
"The greater war, has nothing to do with the whites, they know nothing about it" IRETI replied and smiled at Emi. "Know this is top notch "

Remi ran among the crowded market, struggling to make way for him. He ran towards a shop.
"Mama, good evening Ma" Remi greet and prostrated to the middle aged woman, probably in her late forties.
"Remi" the woman said and signalled him to be patient while she attended to the customer before her.
"three baskets of mango, for just thirty piece of silver, by the time I cut out everything I have no gain" She tried to reason with the customer before after much haggling she sold to the customer and directed attention to Remi.
"Remi, the one that confront the beast of the gods, he who drinks and dine with the gods.. "
Remi felt embarrassed and tried to change the topic.
"Mama, the way you praise me ehn"
"It's necessary, my son, you gave us freedom"
"Is Ewatomi around? " Remi asked bowing his head.
"I asked her to fill to fill the water calabash, hopefully she is at the stream"

Remi got to stream, from afar, he could hear sound of cheers like two people were involved in a fight, as he got closer, he saw Ewatomi roughly pulled to the ground by another girl and another smashed her calabash to the ground, breaking it into pieces.
Ewatomi was helpless, crying uncontrollably as the other girl pounded her with her fist.
"You have the guts to go after him, I don't know what he sees in you"
Remi dashed towards the group and immediately they all disbanded, moving to safe distance, leaving Ewatomi and her opponent.
"Ifewumi " Remi said and angrily pulled her away from Ewatomi. And helped her up.
Ewatomi released herself from Remi's grip and weakly walked towards the river to clean herself and return home to get another calabash.
Remi stood speechless and looked at Ifewumi with a questioning look.
"You know, I am more beautiful than she is, how come you are attracted to someone as her, someone from a poor family, she wants to attach herself with a god, see am the one for you" She said and tried to cuddle herself on him.
Remi eyes turned red, and immediately Ifewumi halted and bite her lips, with a cliched fist. Remi walked towards Ewatomi and aided her in cleaning up.
"Am sorry, I had to put you in such a situation "
"Just let me be and go and met the love of your life whatever" She said and shuddered.
"I found an egg, about ten times bigger than an ostrich egg" He said trying to impress her.
"Whatever "
"And I saw a huge lizard that could fly and spit fire" Remi said again.
"Good"
Remi out of option, quickly planted a soft kiss on Ewatomi's left cheek, and she responded with a blush, trying to hid her smile.
"Come, let's go see it" Remi said and aided her up.
Ifewumi boiled in rage, seeing all what transpired, she felt disgraced, and humiliated among the crowd and angrily walked towards them.
"If you step another inch closer" Remi said, with thunder Bolt cracking from his hands. He held Ewatomi by the waist and flew into the air, in an instance.

Emi alighted his carriage alongside Ajanaku and walked towards the party reception. Filled with me of different Language, tradition and mostly whites, after greeting everyone warmly, he sat on the seat that was accustomed to him while Ajanaku stood by him.
"Be vigilant" Emi said to Ajanaku
"You still don't trust them " Ajanaku replied and grabbed a cup from the bartender that moved around with drinks in a tray.
"Hmm, we know it's our kind that will betray us, not them"
"Am only securing Remi's future, the boy is still young"
"You can't change the future " Ajanaku said and sipped his drink.
everyone attention shifted to the person that repeatedly banged his spoon on the metal cup, followed by total silence.
"I welcome everyone once again, I am honoured, and happy we all agree to peace making among us. To peace" he said and raised his cup.
"To peace" everyone chorused and raised their cups.
"Also I will like to show some important people that fought for freedom of their kind, it is weird that among us are gods, a present to you, a demigod in our midst, someone who has a family who are all gods, in person of Emi, who fought for freedom, to Emi"
"To Emi" Everyone cheered and faced Emi, and gave a round of applause to him.
"Nothing feels like glory" Ajanaku said and smiled
"Hope it lasts"

Remi opened the door that led to the hut where he kept the eggs and ushered Ewatomi in, he ran to where the eggs were and pulled off the clothes he used to cover them.
"Ewwwww " Ewatomi said and knelt down placing her hands on both of the eggs,closing her eyes.
The eggs slowly began to glow and brightly illuminated the room, and slowly, the light traced through her veins, main it shine brightly.
Remi opened his mouth surprised and patiently waited, then she removed her hands but before she could open her eyes the light already died down.
"Why are you staring like you are seeing me naked" She asked and snapped her fingers at his face.
"Nothing"
"The egg is alive, if it's truly a flying lizard, am getting one" She said and sat on the bare floor.
"Hmm, don't let me give you hope o" Remi said and covered the eggs back and led her out and closed the door.
The egg on the right, suddenly cracked and fell into pieces. The dark room, made it hard for whatever came out of the egg to be seen, but a part illuminated on what looked like a tail and slowly it crawled off

After the party which ended some hours before dawn, Emi immediately gathered himself to leave as soon as possible. Ajanaku on the other hand was having loads of fun with the white ladies that admired him. He winked at Emi and relaxed himself among them, smiling almost stupidly. Emi walked towards him and yelled him up butches arm
"Let's leave" Emi said and adjusted his agbada and his wrist beads.
"Ahh, ladies, thanks for the love" Ajanaku said and followed Emi.
"When did you become so fond of women" Emi said approaching the exit.
"Since Eri's mother saw me as a blood thirsty beast and left me"
One thier way out, they got double crossed by a prominent white man, probably a leader of some sort.
"Ahhhhhhhh, am I glad to see you" he said and hugged Emi tightly and patted him on the shoulder.
"Emperor June " Emi said with warm gesture.
"Thanks for giving us what to live for " June said smiling at Emi.
"Well, I guessed we had traitors among us then, but all are now in the past" Emi said
"I would like to make a proposal" Emperor June said and giggled.
Ajanaku stood some steps away, watching them with close eyes.
"Which is"
"Consider remarrying, among the white, get a white lady and have more advantage with our kind, it would be nice to have someone like you in a family "
"Funny, am almost sixty seven" Emi replied
"Pardon me, you look lot younger, I was thinking 45" June said.
Ajanaku fed up with what he considered a useless discussion walked up to them and gave a deadly stare at emperor June, allowing his eyes to flash red.
"I get the clue, see you later " June said and walked off before Emi could reply him.

GBAAAUUU!! the gunshot came from the thick woods, sending the bush pig to the ground, hardly giving it chance to struggle for survival.
"Emi ika " the hunter said and put on his head shot and ran towards his prey, and felt happy seeing he pulled down a big one that could earn him enough fortune.
"Thanks to the gods" he said and stared at the boar, wondering where to start from.
He raised his head and something shone on his face, at first he ignored it, but it was like his soul was attached to whatever it was, he looked towards the direction and the flash came again.
"What's that? " he asked himself and switched off his head torch.
He slowly walked towards the direction, bending down to avoid collision with the banana leaves that were below his head.
He got to where the object was and right at his feet, was what looked like a shining stone, on one part it shoned red while the other part was white.
His heart almost stopped beating, as he felt a sharp pain on his back, and another at his feet, he quickly let go off the stone and attempted to run, but his legs were already rooted to the ground, in that cold morning, he could feel himself sweating profusely..
He felt something crawled up his body and slowly he began to loss life, he tried to scream, but his throat denied him. A huge dark figure slowly rised before him, and put it's mouth against the hunter's mouth. The hunter slowly gasped, as his body rapidly turned pale and he immediately was dried up even to the bones.
The huge figure gave a sigh of relieve and growled softly, it looked towards the direction of the moon and gave a loud horrible shout.

Remi suddenly jumped of from his bed and began panting heavily, he was sweating profusely and tried to relax, he looked outside from the window and was relived that it was almost day break. He held his head tight feeling slight headache, this was the third time in that week he would suddenly be jumping out of bed and everytime he tried to remember what the dream was, he always felt a kind of restrain which caused him pain severely.
He walked to the water calabash and used a bowl to get water from it and drank, he made his arms glow, so he could see the room clearly, and then walked out of the room, to begin his morning chores.

Emi entered into the compound alongside Ajanaku, chatting heartily
"Finally we are home" Ajanaku said and patted Emi on the shoulder.
Emi felt a sharp pain in his abdomen and grunted a little.
"Are you okay? " Ajanaku asked
"Yes" Emi replied feeling relieved he took two more steps and felt the pain again, this time it was stronger.
"Ahhh" Emi groaned, clinching his teeth together and placed his hands on his stomach.
Ajanaku held him by the shoulder and had a confused look on his face.
"What wrong "
"Ahh" Emi grunted again and he began feeling weak on all part of his body, and fell on Ajanaku.
Ajanaku quickly carried Emi on his shoulder and ran as his feet could carry him towards the hut.
"Everyone, who is home? " Ajanaku shouted as he ran to the hut.

Within an hour emi had already started to burn up with fever and sweat freely flowing from his body, his face had already looked pale and white.
IRETI dipped a towel into a cold water and squeezed it, then gently placed it on Emi's forehead to cool his temperature.
"Remi, you should be able to do something" Ajanaku said "Human gods has the ability to heal others" he said again.
"Am sorry, I can't" Remi said and bowed his head
Everyone looked at him surprised, in a situation like this, who says no to saving a precious life.
"Meaning" Eri asked and stared at Remi for a moment.
"I followed the energy into the eggs I brought home, the day I saw it and the energy hasn't regenerate" Remi said and walked out of the room to avoid further questioning.
"Stupid " Eri mumbled the words.
"No, it's not stupid, the prophecy is slowly coming to pass" Ogunjimi said trying to make the see from his own point of view.
"It's not, this poison in him, is something I have never seen, I have to get words to Ifagbemi " Ajanaku said and left without waiting to hear their opinion.
"Only our kind can do something as concrete as this" IRETI said and for a while cursed the gods within her heart.
Emi slowly raised his hands and placed it on IRETI's, and coughed slightly.
"Emi, lay still, the poison is still in you" Ogunjimi said and placed his hands on his stomach.
"He I........ I.... Is... aaa... Allivvve" Emi managed to say and drew his last breath, his head tilted to the right side with his eyes opened, and the hands he laid on IRETI fell dead.
"Who is Alive? " Ogunjimi said looking at him.
IRETI closely examined Emi, she lifted his head which freely dropped lifelessly again, she moved his head to face her, weeing his eyes opened, she placed her hands on his chest.
"Father, no no" She said softly and stood up. And shook Emi's lifeless body furiously.
"AHHHHHHHHHHHHH "

CHAPTER TWO
Emi's body was lowered into pit and one after the other, all villagers took turn to pour a handful of sand into his grave. Thunder Bolt suddenly stroke out of the clear sky, an earshot away from where Emi's funeral was being held, drawing everyone's attention. Two white figures that shone greatly came out from the thunderbolt and began walking towards the funeral ground.
"The gods are here" Eri said and walked forward.
All citizens of Ayenireti stood in awe, a great moment indeed, the figures still in their bright countenace continued till the got to there.
The one on the right had two axe on his back, with his hairs plaited backwards, and was not too muscular in nature, while the other one had a staff with him, wearing an overall garment that swept the ground.
"We are sorry for you loss" The one with the staff said as they got near Eri.
And they walked towards Emi's grave as everyone automatically paved way for them. They slowly bent down and also poured a handful of sand into Emi's grave and stood up.
"Where is Remi? " The one with the staff asked, his brightness was something one couldn't look for a minute without going blind, this making everyone sim their eyes a little.
"Am here" Remi replied and stepped forward with Ewatomi clinching tight to his hands "Obatala". He said again.
Obatala smiled and then looked at Ewatomi and smiled at her
"Walk with us" Obatala said and signalled to Remi to come closer. "And the girl too" He said and pointed his hands at Ewatomi. He made a circular motion with his hand, which immediately made a portal that led into the other realm.
"What cant you tell him before us" Ajanaku suddenly cut in.
"Ahh" the god with the axe growled softly and said "You have no business in this"
"Sango, I speak not with you" Ajanaku replied and felt Eri's hands on his shoulder.
"Continue with the burial and the next thing you should be worried about is who is coming and the death that awaits you all" Sango said and walked into the portal after Obatala.

IRETI looked at the sky, and was feeling uncomfortable, Remi had been gone since the early hours of the day and it's already late in the night. She sat down on the stool and wondered how the others could talk comfortable.
"Calm down" Eri said "You were once a god and you know what that means"
She used the corner of her eyes to look at him and spoke.
"The gods never gave me a special invitation and I think this is more than ordinary "
"Who is the person Sango talked about, emi said same thing before he died" Ajanaku said interrupting.
Right before them a bright light shone, illuminating the entire compound and Remi and Ewatomi walked out of it and the light died down

"What did he tell you " IRETI asked impatiently.
"IRETI, go in, you should have warmly welcomed him"
IRETI knew she was wrong and slowly walked in, then Remi spoke making her halt her steps.
"Two of you are going to die tomorrow and..." Remi suddenly felt the urge to cry and with the speed of light he bolted into the empty hut, where he kept his eggs.
IRETI was about running after him, when Eri spoke.
"Don't go, leave him, his heart is heavy" He said with tears also in his eyes and walked into the hut.
"Ewatomi" Ajanaku said and signalled she should walk up to him.

"Remi" Ewatomi called out as she entered into the empty hut, she looked around and saw Remi sitting at the darker end of the room
"I saw fathers bow, broken and his quiver in blood in the vision and Ogunjimi's waist guard shattered to pieces " Remi said and sniffed placing his heads between in legs.
Ewatomi walked up to him and sat near him, then placed a hand around his neck.
"That might just be a warning of something coming, it does not necessarily means there will be death " She said.
Remi raised his head, looking at the direction where the egg stood, he slowly stood up, seeing the eggs were broken.
"The eggs" He said and hastened his steps. He made his hands illuminated brightly.
"What happened "Ewatomi asked also confused.
A soft growl came from the hut, and Remi slowly raised the cloth up. He widened his eyes seeing two strange lizard creatures, with trails of blood on the ground.
"They hatched " Remi said.
The creatures stopped and stared at him, and slowly with their tails in between their legs they growled softly.

Remi ran back with the lizard like creatures in his hands, only to see everyone in a tough situation. Before them was a man that was dressed in total rags from head to toe, his eyes shone red from its deep sockets, while the other eyes were totally dark.
Ajanaku summoned his beast soul out, which growled angrily, while the others took a defense stance.
Remi stood in awe, he had seen this event while he was with the gods, dark clouds began to cover the face of the sky, as every living creator began to retire to their place of rest.
"Pure one" The man said, his voice echoing as he spoke.
"Who are you? " Eri asked pointing the staff with him forward.
The Man ignored the question and looked at Remi and spoke.
"Those creatures, do you know how powerful they are?, Dragons"the man said and snarled.
Remi withdrew the dragons trying to hide them
"Give them to me and I will let you live " The man said raising his hands up
Ajanaku's beast soul with swift flash, it rammed against the man sending him against the hut. The force sent the hut crashing totally into pieces.
"Remi, you and the girl, get those creatures out of here" IRETI said.
The Man stood up, as thunder came crashing before him.
"Ignorant of your actions" He said and raised his hands in the air, as the earth shook underneath them, making them loss balance.
Remi fired a thunder Bolt at the man, who flicked two of his right fingers, making the thunder bolts move seperate ways.
"Children, as powerful as you are, you still hasn't unlocked your total power" He said, and suddenly a strong wind threw Remi backwards.
Remi quickly got himself up and grabbed the dragons and held Ewatomi's hand.
"Get out of here" Ajanaku shouted.
Ajanaku threw two swift punches at the man, who dodged it skillfully, making it look like Ajanaku was just waving, he grabbed Ajanaku hand and pinned him to the ground. Ajanaku tried channelling thunder bolts, but as it got mid way in his arms, the thunders forcefully went back, and in return a loud bang came from the force, erupting fire from nowhere. Ajanaku's body shattered into pieces.
The Man walked out from the fire, SWOOOSHHH an arrow came at him, and fell off breaking into pieces.
"He is too strong" Eri said and fired another arrow again, this time the arrow turned into flames and stroke the man, sending him to steps backward.
"Remi get out of here" Eri shouted and fired another shot
