Hello guys,

Wishing everyone the best in all our endeavours. I submitted my application on the 13th May and did my biometrics on the 16th May. Got a mail to track my record but could not since, it was giving "no record found" and I am also yet to receive mail for medicals, could any shed more light pls. Thanks

If you applied online... u revert to your cic account where it shows u the progress of your app which u used to apply cos u won't see it that way... if it's paper, u link your application online... the way to do it has already been stated few pages back...

Is it possible to get an approval without a medical request but your upfront has been updated to pass?... My friend just got a correspondence letter, he was sent for a medical but his upfront has been updated to pass. What does this tell?

For the unbolded, it was possible for just a person I know but these days, not possible..

For the bolded, if he was directed by cic to go for the medicals, den they I say congratulations to him

I logged in but no update, what does it mean and has anyone gotten this kind of mail?

Have you done your medicals? If no, start praying hard...

You can do all of the above in Canada.

What you need to do is extend your passport at the Nigerian Embassy in Ottawa before it expires, you can get it the same day .. probably less stressful compared to Nigeria. Thereafter you would use your proof of Enrolment in school to extend your study permit and visa if you wish. Ensure you do all of this before your study permit expires.

So a good timeline would be to travel to Ottawa either during Christmas break or immediately you’re done Winter semester in May to extend the Nigerian passport. Thereafter extend your study permit with proof of your enrolment from school. Ensure you don’t leave the process till late.

Also your visa is only essential for travel, so it could expire during your stay in Canada without worrying about extension, but your permit cannot expire / you should make sure it doesn’t expire while you’re still studying in Canada. If you plan on leaving Canada at any point during your study you can extend the visa before hand.

Only exception is US.

If youre travelling ONLY to the US and back to canada you don't need a valid TRV.

Hi all. I'm a loyal follower here. I quickly want to confirm if it is possible today secure admission for masters in Canada with HND (Distinction in Comp science). I ve searched through some schools without success. If anyone knows any school of such, kindly recommend. Thanks

Evening House.

So, after waiting for 18weeks, CIC Kenya branch(lolz...), decide to wield their big stick of refusal. Mehn...this guys no dey fear God shaaa.

Refusal reasons were based on family ties in Canada & country of residence and purpose of visit.
I really dont get this guys, got admitted for MSc in Sociology, U of M. Have a Bsc in Sociology and currently working as a field officer in a development program. All family ties are here in Nigeria none whatsoever in Canada.

Guess my GCMS file will shade more light on the VO's point of reasoning.

Just thought I should update the house!

at the POE.. you made mention of SOA.. is it going to be my soa or that of my sponsor.
Would it be the same I used for my application or a new one gotten from the bank? Thank you

The same SOA you used for your application. However, if the money is still in your sponsors or your account when you are travelling, you can print another one.

Hello house
Please I got rejected and want to re apply and I want to add employment letter, salary a/c statement and leave letter from where I work to show home ties and career progression . I didn't mention it in my first application. Is this going to cause any problems or red flags for my second application.

Frankrobbn1:

A father has the right to transfer his property to any of his dependents. The deed can be backdated and explanation from the applicant should suffice that the said property has been gifted to him/her in consideration of the love and affection the father has for him/her.

As you suggested that the applicant should claim they have been managing the property, which is also acceptable. Though in this case, a written letter from the family's solicitors should be submitted to support the claims that applicant has long been performing this duties and will not abscond to Canada after studies.

Either methods will suffice. I still suggest getting the gcms note to understand the best approach. Regardless back dating and going ahead with the deed of transfer doesn't necessarily mean a VO will deam that a sufficient reason to come back to Nigeria. A good example is a banker with sufficient properties and even conducted a valuation of his house at almost 30mill. He was still flagged for "Personal asset and finance" refusal. Now whether the VO made a monumental mistake or deemed it not sufficient enough to return home is another question entirely.

These VOs are very unpredictable and you never know what will work. I hope the deed of transfer works together with every other approach the applicant decides. Cheers!

You need a recognised Bsc. certification to pursue a Masters degree program in Canada.Take a look at other post graduate programs and diplomas (Advanced Diploma).

Ok, I have couple of questions. Was just given admission and $16,000 funding out of $23,000. The school advised me to apply for visa since the school resumes sept 2019. I tried to defer but I was told to apply
1. The job I’m working since I completed service is 40k. I just got a new job of 150k which I am to resume by July but I can’t use that one since the letter isn’t ready yet
2. My mum told me to prepare a gift of deed so that she would transfer one of her properties to me. Would that be sufficient to prove ties.
3. My dad is willing to cater for the remaining fees and living expenses
4. They sent me a letter of conditional acceptance and told me to use that to process my visa since the deadline for transcript is December

Please I dont have time and that’s why I need to avoid any mistake. I need advise as to the issues been raised. I tried to defer but it is t possible. I think it’s only when I don’t get visa that I can be deferred.
Apply for your visa now since your parents can sort out the other part of your tuition and living expenses. You can submit your own statement of account as well(the amount in it doesn't matter since you have funding + your dad's)

What were the reasons for the refusal? [/quoted
Financial and purpose of visit
I have sorted the financial by paying part of my fees and I am going to get affidavit of support
My dad is my sponsor but we use different surnames. The purpose of visit I am writing a solid SOP but I want to include my an employment letter as it will help me strengthen more points in the SOP.
So is adding an employment letter now a red flag?

I have few questions to ask

1. Am at the point of applying for my study permit and am contemplating if I shld go through the paper route or online. Will be needing my passport for tourist visa application to UK in July. Don’t know the fastest route.

3. Can I submit my application with a sworn affidavits for my age declaration

4. Can I make use of waec online printout as my waec certificate is missing and I don’t want to go through the long process of getting it reprinted by waec

I can see you sent me a PM, so sorry at the moment I am not responding to Nairaland mails. If you mention me here, I will respond immediatley.

(1) Your visa and study permit will be for the duration of your program plus some extra months.

(2) So your program will run from January2020 - August 31, 2020 while the second one will run from September 2021 - April 2022. Each program runs for 8 months.
You will get 3 years PGWP.

I am presently studying PGC supply chain management in Fanshawe College, I finish in August. You will need textbooks, lots of it (You cant find most of them in the school library). When you get your visa, mention me here and I will give you the materials for free. All the best.[/quote]

Thank you Chief. Please do you mind I discuss with you inbox? I need more clarification on the duration. The admission letter read program ends in April 2021. And why would the second program not state in January 2021? Thank you for offering to help in advance. @Naijaforeigner
