The first question which the priest and the Levite asked was: “If I stop to help this man, what will happen to me?” But the good Samaritan reversed the question: “If I do not stop to help this man, what will happen to him?” – Martin Luther King Jr

I figure your impulsive response will be , Yes. Of course. I am.

But,

What if there is more to serving God beyond professing Him as our Lord and Saviour and attending church services?

According to a scripture, those who call upon the name of the Lord must worship God in Spirit and in truth. Let’s break this down.

What does it mean to worship him in truth? Simply put, to be an embodiment of His word in this world. We all desire The crown of righteousness but guess what, it comes with the cross of Christ attached.

To actually be as He has purposed, we are required to fully yield to Christ and His words. You cannot say you love God yet find it difficult to adhere to His commandments;

Which is;

“Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment.

And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.”

‭‭Matthew‬ ‭22:37-39‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“For you have been called to live in freedom, my brothers and sisters. But don’t use your freedom to satisfy your sinful nature. Instead, use your freedom to serve one another in love.

For the whole law can be summed up in this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.”

Galatians‬ ‭5:13-14‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Love your neighbour as your self.

Who is our neighbour?

In what ways can we perform this love?

HOSPITALITY
“Don’t forget to show hospitality to strangers, for some who have done this have entertained angels without realizing it!”

Hebrews‬ ‭13:2‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Remember the miracle of the 5 loaves and 2 fishes? Yes! That was Jesus unwilling to send away those who were hungry without doing something physical about their situation.

Everyday we go to church is an opportunity to extend our resources to others. It could be prayers, material things, visitation amongst other things. No matter how bad you think your situation is, there are people you are more privileged than. Extend a hand of fellowship.

There are people who are super depressed and sad because they think nobody loves them. They feel alone in this world. It is your duty as a believer to seek out these people and reach out to them.

“For I was hungry, and you fed me. I was thirsty, and you gave me a drink. I was a stranger, and you invited me into your home. I was naked, and you gave me clothing. I was sick, and you cared for me. I was in prison, and you visited me.’

Then these righteous ones will reply, ‘Lord, when did we ever see you hungry and feed you? Or thirsty and give you something to drink? Or a stranger and show you hospitality?

Or naked and give you clothing? When did we ever see you sick or in prison and visit you?’ “And the King will say, ‘I tell you the truth, when you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters, you were doing it to me!’”

Matthew‬ ‭25:35-40‬ ‭NLT‬‬

“Remember those in prison, as if you were there yourself. Remember also those being mistreated, as if you felt their pain in your own bodies.”

Hebrews‬ ‭13:3‬ ‭NLT‬‬

FORGIVENESS
Forgiveness is a proof of love in you. Forgiveness brings peace. A loving heart bears no grudge.

“Get rid of all bitterness, rage, anger, harsh words, and slander, as well as all types of evil behavior. Instead, be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you.”

Ephesians‬ ‭4:31-32‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Jesus was clear on how many times we are to forgive when wronged. Over and over again. Forgive and you shall be forgiven. Your source of love flows from the Almighty God so you will never run out of the grace to forgive no matter how grave the offence is.

“Always be humble and gentle. Be patient with each other, making allowance for each other’s faults because of your love.”

‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭4:2‬ ‭NLT‬‬

AVOID BEING STUCK UP
Through out the life of Christ, we read about His fellowship with people. He never thought anyone too low or filthy to come to Him.

Many ‘Christians’ today are full of vile. They walk around with this air of superiority and snort their nose at anyone they think is a sinner. They are proud and believe their word is law. These set of persons can spend hours teaching the bible but will refuse to offer a friend a helping hand in the same breathe even when it is within their power. Be generous towards the poor.

““When you harvest the crops of your land, do not harvest the grain along the edges of your fields, and do not pick up what the harvesters drop. It is the same with your grape crop—do not strip every last bunch of grapes from the vines, and do not pick up the grapes that fall to the ground. Leave them for the poor and the foreigners living among you. I am the Lord your God.”

Leviticus‬ ‭19:9-10‬ ‭NLT‬‬

DESIST FROM HARBOURING HATRED AGAINST ANOTHER
“Anyone who claims to live in God’s light and hates a brother or sister is still in the dark. It’s the person who loves brother and sister who dwells in God’s light and doesn’t block the light from others.

But whoever hates is still in the dark, stumbles around in the dark, doesn’t know which end is up, blinded by the darkness.”

1 John‬ ‭2:9-11‬ ‭MSG‬‬

A Christian has no business bullying people on social media or in real life, You should not go about slandering people or fighting. Defend what the bible says is right firmly but kindly. A good conduct is expected from every true follower of Christ anywhere you are.

“But if you are always biting and devouring one another, watch out! Beware of destroying one another.”

Galatians‬ ‭5:15‬ ‭NLT‬‬

KINDNESS IS A VIRTUE
On one of the days I go for evangelism, I came across a man who I told about the love of Christ and invited him to church. But my Spirit was heavy when I was about to leave, I tried to fathom why. Then suddenly it came to me. I asked him where he was going, he replied he was trekking to work because of insufficient funds to take a cab. I gave him what I had and asked him to also get some food from it because I figured he had not eaten.

Up till date, i vividly recall his excitement and tears. He told me no one had done him this good before. I know no matter what happens to him tomorrow, how difficult life may get for him, and he is tempted to give up, the memory of the lady who showed him a physical representation of God’s love will strengthen him and keep him from giving up. Random acts of kindness preach the gospel better. Kindness is never wasted.

Since God is unseen to our physical eyes, every act of service towards another is an act of service to God.

Do you realise that in many cases, your lifestyle and attitude is the only bible some people will ever read? And if they do, will it send them further away from Christ or closer to Him? Let this sink in.

Do unto others as you want to be done unto you- if there are many of us who abide by the rule, a lot of evil going on in the world today would cease to be.

Let the love of Christ flow through you not only in words but in deeds. Serve God faithfully, diligently and acceptably.

I leave you with this words;

“And whatever you do or say, do it as a representative of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through him to God the Father.”

Colossians‬ ‭3:17‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Which kind God?

Stop wasting your time on a none existent entity named God.

How did the world come about? God. Why do we breathe air? God. Who created you? God. How does the earth rovolves and still rotates along its axis? God. Watin? Ah ha, i understand you ignorant but atleast get curious for once to read and outsmart your previous ignorant self for once in a lifetime because those are the list of questions we assume God did but upon scientific ground breaking discoveries, we now know how those things works.

There are plenty more we still learning and also manipulating what we already know for human survival on the planet.

This means, God as a name or perceived entity is a receeding pocket of ignorance, the more we study to know, the smaller the ignorance shrinks smaller and smaller till it goes away completely but the question is do we read to make this ignorance go away?

Which God might you be referring to ?

Zeus of the greeks ?

Buddha of the Asians?

Jupiter of the romans ?

Allah of the Arabs ?

Yahweh of the Jews whom is transposed as Jehovah in the Christian bible (Anglicized) ?

Eledumare aka Chineke aka Abasi aka Ogheni aka Osanobua

God is a title, like a prince or a king or a doctor, you have to specific as to which God you are referring to ?
