All the food being mentioned have sugar somehow, what u should be looking at is the suitable drug to control it. It is always advised to eat healthy and then take your medication. Taking insulin to control it initially is not a bad idea. But shouldn't rely on it except for emergency.

So my dear, if I should say, garri is still d best, though, in moderation. Just SCOUT FOR A GOOD DRUG TO ASSIST wink wink

NB: I am not a medical personnel but my little cent from a soul with a family of diabetic persons.

Your dad must know he's not healthy and must go on diet. Dieting is never easy. But you just have to force yourself to adapt. It is very very easy to stay without swallow. I am a living example
He Is Really Trying On The Dieting Aspect I Must Say. For Years Now He Doesn't Eat Garri, Normal Rice, Yam, Bread, Akamu Etc. . . So His Diet Is Already Limited. The Swallow Would Really Go A long Way To Add To His Diet. Thanks.

this is what the OP needs. I have someone that even nutritionist of a particular teachings hospital couldn't get his sugar level regulated. Went to the US for treatment, same result until he met someone who introduced him to food plan (eat right), funnily rice was part of the food plan that was charted for him. It was done according to what his blood needs. When he traveled for his routine check up , he confirmed that the doctors were shocked with what they saw.
I can connect you with the man if you are interested in getting some details from him

I Will Love To Get This Plan. My Email: wisdomgbaranbiri@gmail.com

If you're igbo, use Okpa akwörö akwö.

It's like semo.

Bean based.

Too healthy.

My mum and I are diabetic and we use it.

Too good.

Ökpa is ground pea in English.

you won't even bear it

Talking about those already on meds

If you aren't on meds and noticing weakness, frequent urination, you've been using your scale and each time, high figures, its only a warning to you to change the lifestyle accumulating sugar in your blood, shikena!

You immediately stop every meds, chemically processed foods, smoking, alcohol, any wrong lifestyle

Get your citruses to push out every sugar from your blood and maintain this by never returning to your vomit

Maintain a totally natural lifestyle hence

Whoever scares you with death by not coming on insulin tabs, tell him/her " I know the truth already, its too late "

My Dad Is Diabetic And He Has Been Having Issues With A Choice Of Swallow.

Eba(Garri) And Loi-Loi(Fufu) Are Out Of The Equation Because Of Their High Starch Content.

He Was Using Plantain Flour But He Complained Of Constipation And He Stopped Using It. . . He Was Also Using Wheat Flour But He Stopped Due To Some Health Complications (I Think Something Concerning Blood Group O+).

Any Advice Or Experience Will Be Appreciated.

P.S: For Some Months Now He Has Not Eaten Swallow, Just Diabetic Rice And Other Food Suitable For Diabetics, But We Are Nigerians And Man Must Swallow.

Buy Samvita. 1KG satchet of it is around 1k. It is sugar free, tastes, smells and feels just like the normal Garri you know. It is also easy to make.

I have a friend on Facebook, a food therapist that sells food plans for a good number of ailments including diabetes. The food plan contains so many choices of food that your dad will like. Her food plan works like maaaad! She tells you the right food to eat and accompanying smoothies. Just get it for your dad. Of you are interested, reply me, I will give you her Fb's details. The food plan is just a timetable of food and smoothies, highly recommended by doctors. Try it out bro.

Whats the name on fb?

What is wrong with you

Metformin is a prescription drug, not to be taken anyhow. His blood sugar level at the moment will determine the dose

You just come online to prescribe anything you like

@kenobi14 kindly visit a clinic for proper prescription

@younghacka please don't listen to this ...

Daonil contains glibenclamide which is in the same class with glimepiride

Ask your doctor if he needs to change your dad's medication

Don't buy.drugs anyhow for him

But He Is Currently In The Hospital And The Doctors Placed Him On Insulin Which Is Not Helping Matters. Thanks For Your Concern, I've Sent You A Mail.

Metformin, glimepiride and insulin no much improvement
