she is absolutely correct , many nigerians living here in accra are always too ashamed to call or identify themselves as Nigerians in places where noone knows them here , they will tell you "i dont want ppl to know i am a Nigerian".
but the major problem isnt the Nigerians themselves but the attitude of the Ghanaian authorities is severely and ruthlessly dealing with criminals, when criminals are arrested by the police , it is the same Ghana police officers that will facilitate such criminals escape or release ,
secondly the ghana leadership always politicize issue beyond reasoning , political leadership are always using issues of national security to score cheap political points and this has hampered the fight against crime .
the rising rate of kidnappings in Accra always have Nigerians among them , the taokoradi girls have not been found since last year, the 2 Canadians kidnapped in kumasi had 5 Nigerians and 3 Ghanaian , it was later discovered that the Ghanaian involved had political links , case closed . just last week 5 Nigerians were arrested in tema for raping and robbing a woman in front of her husband .
the issue is that is the end , until they start setting examples of criminal arrested in order to show that they are serious , criminality will continue to rise in ghana .
