its a 6 month account statement right, as long as the opening balance matches or doesn't deviate much from the closing balance, I don't see any problem besides this funds can be classified as savings, so it doesn't need much inflow or outflow. |

What if the opening balance on a 6 months SOA is about 76000 and the closing balance is abot 12million... Is this acceptable. blackmamba147: |

Marjoribanks:How many hours are you expected to work for each of the research assistantship positions? You can only work a total of 20hrs per week. So you might not be able to combine both positions. |

uzmu:I just checked your previous transcripts and noticed the interviews were both centered on the school you chose and why you chose it (your first interviewer even actually told you that one of your reasons for your ineligibility was you not knowing about your school). I suspected that there may be something wrong about the school. Why didn't you try using other schools after the first denials. I don't know but the school might be a 'red flag school'. I checked US news for its ranking and what I saw was 'UNRANKED in Regional Universities Midwest', which may not be good. I don't know sha..maybe you just couldn't give good reasons why you chose the school. |

I would suggest that the opening balance be high, that way you have had the money for a longer period, on the other hand if the funds that made up the closing balance did not come in the last month before you printed the statement then I think its fine. In other words the longer you have had a high balance the better. Philtos: |

Good evening house, my interview is in 2 weeks and deficit on my i-20 is 6k (about 2million naira ) my mom is my sponsor but her account balance is about 4.8million naira ...what do you think guys ? can I use it pls ? |
| Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 15 by dreambound(m): 5:29pm On Jun 20, 2019 |
Stellyhardy:It's okay..you have Over 200% funds available, which is very good. |
| Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 15 by fairheart(m): 5:30pm On Jun 20, 2019 |
So long total credit for the 6 month period is high enough, you are fine. With good total credit, should you be placed on AP, the embassy will know your Mum has a strong source of income to support you. The balance is not bad. I believe you should get your visa! Now, take your time to prepare very well. Best! Stellyhardy: |

blackmamba147:It actually does matter because things won't add up. Imagine an account with opening balance of like 14 million, over 6 months interview, total inflow was less than 1 million. So how was the 14 million built. Anyways, no need to go back and forth again. |
| Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 15 by Grass2Green: 5:44pm On Jun 20, 2019 |
My opening balance was 3.4m, total credit 156m, total debit 133m, closing balance 27m. In fact about 26m entered the day I printed which was a day to my interview. So I think it depends on the outflow and inflows. Opening and closing balance don’t matter much. Although, there were cases where 26m, 23m, 10m, 11m entered the account. Philtos: |

This is not a strong acct. Better pray not to be placed on AP with a statement like this. It may likely lead to refusal eventually. The total credit is as important as the balance. It is what they use to assess the financial strength of the sponsor--that is, if PLACED ON AP AND STATEMENT TAKEN DOWN. Oasishavenng: |

You cannot kill yourself. Do your thing and hope for the best. There are things you cannot change. Changing the opening balance is not something you can do. If I am in your shoe and this person is my actual, real sponsor, I'd keep my peace of mind and go with the statement. Philtos: |
| Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 15 by Brown2Green(m): 5:50pm On Jun 20, 2019 |
Humble11:Depends on the hours per week for each. You are only permitted to work maximum of 20 hours so you can get as many employment as long as they don't exceed 20 hours. |

| Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 15 by Nobody: 5:58pm On Jun 20, 2019 |
as you are imagining, also imagine its a saving account, the reason you are asked to provide statement covering multiple months is to prove you have the funds to cover your cost, I don't see the point you trying to make here, A six months statement with 14m opening balance is better that a 6 months statement with 76k opening balance. anyway no point going back and forth with you Oasishavenng: |

Brown2Green:The school was noted as 'UNRANKED' by US NEWS, and his past two interviews have centered around the school and why he chose it. Possibly a red flag School to the VO's. I would have changed my school after the first denial if it were me. |
