Is Sex A Topic To Discuss With Children? by MXD5050: 3:58pm On Jun 23, 2019
IS SEX A TOPIC TO DISCUSS WITH CHILDREN?

I was opportuned to ask over twenty parents this question and they said "yes" sex, is indeed a topic to discuss with children. But when asked if they had discussed sex with their five or six years old child? Ten among them said they were shy when their children ask them where do babies come from? and the only answer they gave is that babies come from God, Eight said their children never came up with any sex related question, the rest five said it is not yet time and educating them about sex when they're still six years old is too early and unmoral.

Would I be wrong if I say your answer to the topic question was yes? if you have had a conversation about sex with your children becomes a no? Knowing it's right does not make anything right if you don't apply it to solve problems.

Sex education is really lacking in this part of the world and this has led to abnormal behaviors like; rape, sexual impairment or dysfunction, homosexuality, premarital sex, unwanted pregnancy, STDs etc.

Lack of proper sex education makes children feel seems children can only come from God just as their parents told them having sex at an early age becomes no problem.

Because parents tell their female child that their own penis has been cut off when they confront them with issues like. "why do my brother or our neighbors son has penis and I do not have"? remember, failing to give your female children a proper explanation to sexual issues like this makes them feel worthless and leads to sexual impairment and see boys as the lucky ones and most time imitate boys there by becoming lesbians. For any parent who wish to become more involved in parenting issues like this must not be overlooked.

When your male child is not taught from small how to sexually respect a girl and be taught how he can make girls accept him sexually, he would believes forcing women is normal. Rape becomes a habit. It is important to educate your male child from small on how to respect and adorn women or else they would grow up becoming rapists and can not keep a woman or sexually satisfy a woman and this has led so many teens into suicide and most parents don't know.

So many homosexuality is as a result of chromosomal abnormalities. Early sex education makes your children love the sex they represent. If you are not involved in parenting your female child with more testosterone ( tomboy) would want to be sexually attracted to her fellow girls and when this behavior is stamp in. Going to church to pray out evil spirit would be a waste of time because there was no spirit in the first place. Same also goes to a male child with estrogen (effeminate).

So many young couples no nothing about contraceptive so who do you blame for all the unwanted pregnancy? So many young couples hate their children because they came when they did not plan for them. All the new born babies that are being dropped by the road side and all the failed abortion that has caused millions of death is as a result of lack of early sex education due to uninvolvement of parents and teachers in parenting.

So many adults today don't even know what sexual transmitted diseases are, they do not know the use of contraceptives because, no one taught them. Parents and teachers feel it is bad. So many youths have lost their lives as a result of parents and teachers improvident reasoning.

Your children can not abstain from premarital sex and unprotected sex if you fail to educate them sexually.

Just like breastfeeding is important so does sex education is. Do not deprive a child of information he or she needs to become a responsible adult.

Children needs to know the changes that occurs on their bodies. So many teenagers hate their bodies during the onset of adolescence ( puberty). At this stage parents and teachers should be able to explain to them this developments. Because, failure to do this results to depression. As little as not understanding the growth or changes in body size could lead to suicide.

According to Derek (1971) genital comparison is normal at age three at this age curiosity sets in the attitude of parents towards sexuality and their comfort in answering children questions honestly are crucial in preventing sexual impairment. According to Rob (1993). If parents see sex education as dirty and punish a child for getting information about sex from peers the child would develop a very wrong attitude towards sex that will mar his or her adult life.

Parents must be up and doing in educating their children about spermarch and menarch before they get to the stage.

It does not cost anything other than time to educate your children about sex how ever you view this article just know that it is of best interest to every child as RRCSAFRICA is geared towards ensuring that, parents and teachers become more involved in parenting so as to raise responsible adults.

sex education does not entail just telling your children to stay away from premarital sex. It involves explaining in details why they should not.
