You people are delusional.

Ibadan defeated the Fulani here in osogbo in the late 1800

Ibadan is not a refugee state

Ibadan was the camp of the second Oyo army

The calvery army was in ilorin, while the gorilla fighters were in Ibadan.

And "Yoruba" wasn't coined by Fulani.

Quoting a blog won't do you a world of good either.

Ibadan became the most powerful force in Yoruba land after the fall of Oyo, not the capital.

Even Ibadan had enemies who felt it was getting to big within the Yoruba family like the Egbas and ijebus.

At least you don't deny the fact that you are stupid grin

Now to the post, after the death of Afonja, Alilmi's son went to Sokoto for re-enforcement to create and help to form a Fulani Yoruba empire.

On two occasions, the successor of Afonja in ilorin tried on their own to remove Alimi's son to no avail.

Alimi's son then proceeded to attack other Yoruba towns for the new ilorin Yoruba-fulani Emirate.

However, the Ibadan worriors like Balagoun Ogunmola fought gallantly and defeated the ilorins ( Fulani) in osogbo.

This meant Fulani started retracting their steps until they got to ilorin.

A final assault on Ilorin with the help of the then British army meant ilorin emirate eventually failed.

The bolded shows that you are living in another dimension. Afonja conquered Illorin cheesy cheesy cheesy . Who is the Oba of illorin biko?

You should know that emir was eventually entrolled again by the British after realising that the Yorubas are a much difficult bunch to control, unlike the Fulanis.

They even forced them into the northern region, despite the protest from ilorin people againsr the idea

Evidence; Even in towns very close to ilorin In Kwara state like Offa, there is still a Yoruba king known as the olofa of ofa till date.

If you are talking of Binin I would partially believed. But calling Illorin was reconquered by Yoruba, it is very funny to believe such nonsense when the evidence is clear

I remember the day I found out that Afonja was real. I was so amazed yet disappointed. Yorubas have a historical precedent to their character.

Nothing about them surprises me anymore.

Oga, stop misleading people with a your half-truths. there are More than 5 alaafins that cursed the yoruba nation.

Sango was betrayed by his high chiefs, he got angry and the fire from his mouth killed his children, he got depressed, cursed the yoruba nation and killed himself....

I can go on and on.

Expect the yorubas to come after me. Afterall, the yoruba youths of this generation don't their history.

Not only did Afonja's mutiny led to the Muslim hordes pillaging to the ground the then capital of Oyo (Oyo Ile) but it also saw to the creation of Ibadan from a small remote town south of Oyo-Ile.

Ibadan will become swamped with fleeing oyoruba people. Ibadan began as a massive IDP camp.

Even their name that they call themselves today is as a result of how an Islamic Scholar from Mali documented the Muslim conquest of Ilorin and Oyo-Ile. Oyoruba was coined by Muslim northerners as a mockery to the Oyo people.

Wow. Eye opening.

From Oyoruba to Yoruba.

So the name started as an insult to them. Wonders shall never end.

Yes , the back stabbing coward exist

Afonja rebelled against Alaafin, got his own domain and died there. Ojukwu rebelled against Nigeria, did not get shishi , ran away, lived the most productive time of his life in exile and died a Nigerian.
Story of the two rebels.

Very well, let us omit post independence history. Can you please tell us one single act of bravery either by an individual or collectively which can be attributed to your tribe?
Please, village wrestling contests cannot be accepted as an act of bravery.

How some dulllards think this will pain/worry Yorubas one bit is beyond me.

You care so much about my history and will stop at nothing researching it whereas I don't give a fcccck about yours - that is even if you have any.

Doesn't that already say who the boss is

Fool, you know nothing about history the ilorin Emirate was even very weak that after the death of Alimi and salami a yoruba balogun brought his stooge to become the emir, Ibadan defeated the fulanis in the oshogbo war, am sure you don't know that and if not for the coming of the British ilorin would have been conquered again.
You guys should be happy you never met the Fulani force before the Brits came they would have decimated your naked forefathers before Gowon did it during the Civil War.
