The thread should have been in the Cartalk section. There, should have done the needful.

Hi every one, I am really not under any obligation to share my experiences in fixing this vehicle. I said earlier, The project is a learning field, for my self and countless others who are presently reading, and those who will stumble on this thread in the future.

My mistakes, failures and success will help a DIY enthusiast/Hybrid owner/ Technician understand what to do and what not to do when similar challenges are faced.

The main person derailing this is an attention seeker with several usernames which I will not mention.

More than once he has derailed several threads which were beneficial to others.

I Initially wanted to discontinue updating, and just show the final result, but that would be unfair to the over 11,000 viewers.

The thread will continue and finally evolve into a Hybrid talk thread and will be moved to Cartalk after fixes are completed.

I will urge all of us to Remain focused and if you really want to attack me personally come at me with proper facts and figures. If you have bought a defective part from me or received bad service, open a thread and make a complain, till then let's keep this learning thread alive.

thread continues we remain focused.

Today I was really busy... almost made a hat trick in vehicle sales, but we'll 2/3 is still a goal cheesy

Spent the day charging the batteries (all 34 cells at a go) using the solar panel, I am very careful and Inspect every 20-30mins.

the weather was not very favorable as it became a wet monday around 2pm, so the charging continues tomorrow.

By the side, the backup Camry 2006 will be purchased tomorrow morning solely to startup the engine and ensure its in perfect shape in case the battery pack is unable to give a long enough crank. The camry vehicle will not be factored as a cost as it will be sold as a profit after its function is completed.

Out of the Box thoughts.

In got lost in thought a few days ago about this project, I wondered what would happen if I left the ignition on, and towed the car over a long distance with the battery pack installed.

I would appreciate an interactive session on this.

The generator is connected to the wheels which when rotated produces power (electrical charges right)?

Regenerative braking

Depressing the brakes actually provides a dynamo effect that in turn charges the battery.

Ithe question is how much juice can you get from such exercise?

Nothing should happen.. Petrol Motor is not running to charge batteries.. No regenerative braking

I thought the generator is connected to the petrol engine oh

No.actually I doubt if the engine would be running during the regenerative braking effect

The only issue with this technique is that the brakes would have to be lightly depressed throughout the whole exercise

ICE or Electric motor transmits power to the transmission box.
Towing vehicle means the wheels turn without getting power from the ICE or Electric Motor and very unlikely this will lead to charge up of the battery pack as the power source is not the ICE...
But should help engine build up compression and probably make start up easier..

Exactly.. No excitation for the generator to produce power

How would the wheels turning on "neutral" build up compression... Engine & transmission/wheels are disengaged

Gear can be placed in drive... That way the cycle is complete.
Usually the car runs on the battery pack when in neutral, therefore highly unlikely charge will occur as it may have been programmed not to charge battery in neutral gear and when engine is not running (when there's no power supply to ignition coils) because if charging is possible without engine running on fuel, people would have been creating mechanisms to turn the tyres on external devices like rotary grinders or placing wheels on a threadmill to charge the batteries...

Oga Gazzuzz I won’t mind if you dash me the 2006 Camry just for a token after the exercise. Nobody should come and drag this with me biko kiss

Hmmmmm interesting.. I won't tow a car in drive.. Maybe D1 or L... Nah!!! I won't..
I remember a friend parked his 1st gen MDX & forgot transmission in drive... Bros later found his truck at the end of the road(pavement stopped it).. Transmission started acting up..

I wonder how Honda Acura forgot to interlock key removal & park switch..
I know my own key would never come out if transmission is not in park..
