I don't understand why I haven't gotten a decision uptill now.
I applied on 17April
Did upfront medicals on 17th may,.
It got updated to pass on 28th may,
I got a BVL on 7th June,

Uptill now, no decision or update. I have sent several webdmforms to them yet no reply.

My case was a hectic one mehnnnn. I applied June 11, 2018 via online, did my biometrics on June 13, 2018 (in Lagos), waited 13 whole months b4 any update came up on my CIC acct.(while waiting i kept sending mails n applied for GCMS notes twice). Finally got a medical request mail on June 11, 2019.
Was able to schedule a medical appointment in Abuja and successfully carried it out June 19, 2019. On June 22, 2019 (last Saturday) my CIC account was updated to "medicals passed". And today which is 26th of June, i received my passport submission request.
That's d time line of how long my Study visa application took.

If the latest trend is anything to go by, then i will advice you pray hard because most people who got BVL without prior medical requests ends up being delayed. that is as far as the record on the group is concerned.

My passport expires 10th November and I have already applied for a renewal.

Can I put in my reapplication for study permit with current passport as I await the renewed one or do I have to wait till new passport is out before putting the application in?

School resumes sep 3rd.

Any advice would be appreciated, thanks.

Gcms notes n u said a decision has been made? What do you mean by that?

Usually, when BVL drops, it means a decision has been reached.

Good morning house!

I came across this forum immediately after I submitted my study permit application. Having read through, I knew I submitted an empty application. Please, I need your help in reviewing my refused application coz I plan on reapplying. I submitted the following documents:

CIC forms
Transcripts and Certificates
3rd party sponsors SOA (inflow #68m, balance 86k - I was told that the balance wasn't important but the functionality of the account)
SOP
Sponsorship letter
Introduction letter from my sponsor
Birth certificate
Passport data page
Acceptance letter from University of Manitoba

I was accepted to study Language and Literacy Education at the PhD level in the University of Manitoba. I finished with a 4.6 cgpa (masters in English Education). My first degree was also in English Education. I have never been properly employed, all I did was study.

I was refused based on the following reasons:

Family ties
Purpose of visit
Personal asset and financial status
Current employment situation

My Questions are:

1. How can I tackle the employment situation? Immediately after first degree, I did NYSC, then second degree.

2. I did paper application. Will I have to apply for my passport to be sent back to Lagos or it will automatically be sent since it was a refusal?

3. Language and Literacy education, and English Education are related. Why is purpose of visit one of the reasons?

4. If I tackle all these problems appropriate for the next application, can another problem like travel history crop up?

5. My start date is September 2019. When will be the perfect time to reapply?

I need help please, gurus in the house, see to my case.

Thanks in advance.

Hello guys, I'm in a state of dismay. My application got Refused and My school resumes by Sept this year.

Documents submitted:

All CIC forms
Admission letter
SOP
School transcript
Passport data page
Sponsor’s letter (My sponsor is my Dad, 7m bal)
Sponsors CAC document
Sponsors letter of sponsorship
Parent’s landed document and survey plan (Lagos)

Reason for Refusal:

Pursuant to paragraph 220(a) of the IRPA, I am not satisfied that you have sufficient and available financial resources, without working in Canada, to pay the tuition fees for the course or program of studies that you intend to pursue.

Pursuant to paragraph 220(b) of the IRPA, I am not satisfied that you have sufficient and available financial resources, without working in Canada, to maintain yourself and any family members who are accompanying you during your proposed period of study.

Pursuant to paragraph 220(c) of the IRPA, I am not satisfied that you have sufficient and available financial resources, without working in Canada, to pay the cost of transporting yourself and any family members who are accompanying you to and from Canada

My undergraduate course was Information Technology (studied in Ghana) and I'm currently serving.

My proposed course of study is Project Management (Post Degree Diploma) at UNIVERSITY OF WINNIPEG

I was introduced to the forum after my application and since then I've been scared of a refusal, well here is it. Is there anything left behind? What didn’t I do right? Please, I need suggestions guys.

All gurus I honestly crave your indulgence. should I reapply by tackling the above reasons or I request for a GCMS note while I defer my admission?

Thank you

Hello guys

Pls is it best to do upfront medicals
I have submitted my application- online
Biometrics updated as I had previously done biometrics in 2017 for visit Visa.

Is it wise to do upfront medicals?
Will it speed up the process?

I used Western Union Student Global Pay, it is less expensive than Flywire based on bank transfer.

If you found a way to use Form A, it's the cheapest, in any case, having a dorm account helps.

@abusmanlouis advice Is the best you're going to get on this issue. If you know you used a fake statement then there is nothing in this world you can do. You'll get banned for 10-15yrs and be flagged especially from other countries like usa, uk, Australia etc that share data with them.

So on the contrary print out the statement for a year and send it in. All the best.

Good day guys, over 2 weeks ago when I collected my passport I found this slip in it, I mailed them immediately because I couldn't find any mail from them, they auto replied that they'll get back to me in 5 days, 5 days was over I them send a reminder mail, but it's still the same auto reply telling me 5days again. I'm tired o, what can I do now? Is there any other mail I could write please? Thanks guys

Yes bro, I was very occupied sometime in April and May when I was preparing for my IELTS test and Permanent Residence application. The exam wasn't an easy one, but I am grateful to God that I was able to attain good grades in one sitting which makes me eligible to apply for the Canadian PR. I am happy at your TRV achievement. Success!.
Congratulations Oga Frankrobbn1 on your success so far. I Pray God will bring it to a happy end IJN Amen.

My view on this is focused on the sponsorship aspect, a third party sponsor might seems weak but possible coupled with the fact that he has 86k in his/her account.
depending on your sponsor's dependants, after removing your school fee and travelling expenses, i think he should still have substantial millions of naira in his/her account as balance.
why not look for a sponsor that has around 30m - 40m as balance, i know this is not easy ooo, just my view.

pls gurus in the house, pls help this dude with futher clarifications, as i am just a passer by grin.
i have also submitted my application lastweek, i really pray and hope it will end in praise. cool

Your medical updated to passed is almost this date with mine , Your BVL came this same day with mine (June 7) the following day (June cool final decision dropped for me , and it was dated June 7th.
Now that you have not receive your Final decision, your application may still be in a very good health in the hand of a good VO, probably is waiting for you to submit missing document, which i can not authoritatively say is the cause of the delay! GCMS note will help to reveal missing document or anything delaying your final decision, if it is something you can quickly correct, you do the needful.

Is not advisable to use someone who lives in Canada as Sponsor. The VO's will see your study permit Application as vogue, baseless and consider it as PULL and PUSH method.

Sorry to announce to you Bro that is a denial, that is VO's new denial method for the paper route applicant, check email for the reasons, if is not there try link your application online and see the reasons for denial.
