Only the Coach has the right to tell the players how to play and not you or any other spectator.

Mind you , the coach may not agree with you Ighalo was selfish.
At the time Ighalo had the ball, he had two decisions to make, shoot the ball or pass to Musa. He decided to go for Glory and missed.

He is only doing his job. There is no guarantee either that if Musa had gotten the ball, he would have scored.
this is silly... There's always bigger chance of scoring an empty net from 8 yards out, than there is of scoring from Ighalo's angle with the keeper providing some cover.

The ability to make the right decision quickly and under pressure is what differentiates the world class footballer from the good/average one. Ighalo made the wrong decision, as you can see from the outcome. It might seem inconsequential now, but in latter stages, bad decisions get punished.

Keep making excuses for him until we get knocked out after he (or some other player) messes up another chance that could have kept the dream alive. I hope you don't fake outrage if that happens.

Save all these your sermon for the coach.

Damn! Musa dey ball.
The way guys were clapping for that his beautiful run ehn
If Ighalo did not see Musa, at least he must have heard him.
We have to start scoring more goals though.
That our goalie should learn to start catching balls before they start using rebound to score him.

Critically looking at that scene, I don't think it's fair to say he was completely selfish.
I think he was in two minds there, trying to trick the goalkeeper into thinking he would pass to Musa. The keeper seemed close to the ball, so it would be easy for him to prevent the ball from getting to Musa if Ighalo had made the pass.
That's why I feel he wasn't necessarily being selfish. Perhaps, he was out of excuses at the moment or didn't know how to explain his misdeeds, that's why he claimed he didn't see Musa in the other end. I'm pretty sure he did Lol.
Rubbish! He was outright plain selfish. Passing the ball to Musa was what he was supposed to do in that situation

As a striker, he need not see Musa, strikers sense. Even if he decided to close his eyes, he should be able to sense his team mates. Check the first picture and you ll discover that Musa was in the best position to put the ball after the goal line. Just a simple laying of the ball to Musa, would have helped him(Ighalo) and the team.

African players with ""Na me attitude"-"Na me score am"

I could be wrong, but you seem too sentimental to consider things from my view. You don't analyse football based on sentiments, you'd make a really bad coach.

OkpaNsukkaisBae:
I will forgive him if he says he didn't see Musa than dis your lame argument. The keeper had already closed the space in that left side angle leaving the right side open for Musa. He's not Messi or Cr7. Even his attempt was off target What he needed to do was just to square the ball to Musa on the other side to tap in.... into the open net. Simple logic. Even later Musa tried to square the ball to him even in a more difficult play. He can decide to be selfish when we are winning by enough margin.

The same selfishness sent Brazil women team out of the world cup against France. They had a lot of opportunities to win when it was 1-1 but then selfishness said no.
He is a striker. Strikers score goals no matter how slim the chance. They do not go about passing in front of goal like midfielders. I stand by Ighalo. If such opportunity beckons again, he should try his luck. You are not a striker. undecided undecided

He is our Messi and Ronaldo put together. The good people of Nigeria love him. Deal with it!

Please stop siding Ighalo, he was just being selfish. I watched the game from beginning to the end.

And musa wasted a counter by passing to him
No Musa did his best on counter attack. He has ran too much after beating two opponents, but there was no support close to him.The only 2 guys he has just went to the box.

They should leave him alone joor! Football decision is instinctive, how many seconds does he have to think and look up there? If the ball enter net we'll all jump up for joy.. That's why we come here to blame Buhari for having running stomach and jedijedi.

are you mentioning the same Messi that once chose to pass the ball when taking a penalty?

Even Ronaldo has more assists than the goals Ighalo has scored in his entire career.

If he doesn't know how to pass, then he shouldn't also know how to miss!

The Cr7 & Messi wey u dey call sabi give assist.
No b only goal dem dey score.
Ronaldo is the all time leading scorer in the Champions League as well as the all time highest assist provider. Messi is leading laliga all time scoring chart as well as assist provider.

Abi. Uche Kalu once squared a pinpoint pass to Yakubu with the goal at the Bull's mercy back in SA 2010. How did that end again, I forget? Off target! Even Oga Papillo missed a seater once during his prime at Portsmouth.

Those blaming Ighalo have no idea how traditional strikers, like him, think.
