Thank you. In the past some of us have gently reminded these folks not to reveal their financial status here because 1. they open themselves up to attacks from criminals who are all over social media profiling and we don’t want that 2. it is immaterial to the discussion here and very toxic as folks start fighting over who is richer 3. As a behavioral therapist , I would say it’s a sign of interior emptiness and poverty of mind.

In 2012, Feelamong started this thread and I have never seen him and many other mature minds in this sub reveal or fight over how much they have.

You see what irritates me is that when noobs come here to learn, to ask questions about NTB like I did many years ago, we tell them go read the 1st 10 pages yet we waste time bragging about our net worth. How does that help those noobs coming here to learn about NTB.

The event of Mt.Gox Hack in 2014 or others are there to teach us never to reveal our financial information on social media. If you have lots of money in your bank accounts, don’t tell the public, get yourself a token(soft or hard) for large withdrawals. And if you have lots of BTC and alts, don’t tell the public, buy a hard wallet like Ledger NanoS and store all your coins on it. Don’t leave a lot of your coins on exchanges.

I hope I have not offended anyone here but if I have, I apologize. Let’s get back to the spirit of Feelamong, the founding father of this great family. Peace

You are a mere scaremonger.
Bill Gates, Zuckerberg, Dangotes, Danjuma, Otedola etc financial infos are everywhere, what has happened to them or their finances?

You are talking as if disclosing it will immediately lead to barrage of hacks automatically.

You goofed when you engaged in fallacy of false cause.

Was Mt.Gox hack as a result of revealing financial info?

Don't we know mtn and banks financial worth?
How many hacks have taken place?

You should have cited other reasons like kidnapping , people expecting you to spend more etc to buttress your point.

In fact, some businesses or professions encourage you to even inflate your networth as part of packaging.

I think building or buying his office is a good idea.
Maybe they refused to sell to him.

It's safer, I think to buy or bulid such momentous property for stability, comfort and custom design, otherwise they can issue him notice to quit one day and he starts looking for office.

Many brands actually own their head offices.

You seem to like to talk about your success, most of your narratives are geared towards the rich, people who already have millions. I would like to know how you started out if you don't mind. I believe this would be more helpful to a lot more people than posting truck selfies.

So, were you a salary earner who saved every single until you had enough to buy your first truck? Or, did you inherit your seed money? Did you win the mtn who wants to be a millionaire, back then? How would an averag Joe come up in a record time given you are only in your mid 30's and a successful owner of businesses ?

Hello fellow investors,

I requested to invest in secondary treasury bill the sum of N2,000,000 at a discount rate of 11% for 182days. I had a total bank balance of N2,014,139.32 and was expecting a yield of 12.359% from my calculations. I got debited and what was left in my account was N121, 243.43 as balance if I remove processing fees of N2594.52.

My challenge is that over N14k is not been accounted for which the bank did not give me. Because my calculations showed that I should be having about N135,134 in my bank balance.

Pls experts in the house, kindly help me calculate, perhaps I may be wrong. But I feel my bank is trying to rip me off.

You are entitled to your misconstrued opinion. If I have offended you by my advice, you should hear the ones I keep to myself. You know what, I don't do social media personal attacks since they are not productive. Sometimes sarcasm falls out of my mouth but I don't know about you. All of us here have one thing in common, we all bring happiness to this room. Some do when they enter, some do when they leave. Thanks for responding as I learn alot from dissent opinions. My off button is turned on for this issue.

Now let's get to back NTB. I have some maturing soon. Do you think is gonna go south or north in the next three month? I like you know what you and other folks think given the current state of affairs. Muchas gracias. Blessings brother.

At 11%, you're having 0.11 * 2m * 182/365 = 110k

110k+14139 =124139

124139 - 2594 (processing fee) = 121545

So it's close enough.

I tend to look at the below factors

1. Interest rate - If the interbank lending rate goes up..TB rates might follow suit

2. Inflation - In inflationary environments, investors are forced to reach for greater yield to compensate for diminished purchasing power in the future.

3. Crude Oil price - If price declines, the government has less FX income and so it has to source more money (than usual) for capital expenditure by issuing TB at a higher rate

There could be other factors to be aware of...these are the ones i know. I just keep an eye on them..how they move will help inform the direction of TB rates (up or down)

My response to the discuss. Don't like quoting people so I avoid fights: I regret building my house. I want my moneys to work for me and not me working for money. I dumped about 35m on my building instead of investing and using the interest for rent while waiting for such time I will garner billions then I buy a house in "banana island". For the upcoming investors I advise you don't make my mistake. Don't believe like I did that property is the greatest investment. I used to live in property section but now I know better, I live here. Thanks for the knowledge shared

Good morning

Please axa mansard mailed me the issuance of commercial papers for Nigerian Breweries tenured 91 & 172 days with a minimum subscription of 5M but the downside is I have no knowledge of commercial papers except MF & TB.

Anyone kind enough to lecture me before I can decide?
From my knowledge, commercial paper is driven by Private firms unlike that of TB. And the deadline for the 5mil is tomorrow, that's according to my account officer; was so convinced of the positivity.

U ve spoken well bro..when it comes to investment b4 taking a decision one has to Read books , if u have good people around u try to ask or analyse their opinions like this kind of forum , and depending on your faith / religion u pray about it
Tbills for 2yrs back was 17/ 18 percent and last year at 15percent

I almost made a mistake regards to what u mentioned sir ..That same property when i checked and called them last month prices still same that had wanted to pay 2 yrs ago , Not the same estate thou but close location to the former (Didnt want to mention the price )

If u calc 35m @ 17 per (2017_2018)and @ 15% (2018_2019). Imagine if such amount was invested in tbills just for that 2 yrs

Info is power..You don't have to feel bad , we all have made one or two financial mistakes or wrong decision

Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by cooldudeng(m): 7:15am On Jun 28, 2019
It’s advisable not to post the amount in question in a faceless forum for security reasons

That said, I will say both are almost the same but it’s dependent on you and some other reasons

1) T-bills gives you your interest upfront. Your 10million would give you about 1.2million upfront (going at 12% for 364 days). That upfront is available immediately to be re-invested in another T-bill there increasing your true yield ( Rate/(1-Rate)). You can also decide to use the interest for other investment purposes or even business.

As for Mutual funds, your interest is not available immediately and it’s only compounded monthly or quarterly ( like Axa mansard). However, withholding tax will be taken from your interest

2) T-bill interest is free of charges like withholding tax ( currently 10%). However, the banks takes some minimal fees (storage fees or something like that)

3) Lastly and I would say this is the most important. T-bill rates are fixed while Mutual is floating. If you are sure the rates will go up in the nearest future, then Mutual is the way to go or a short tenor T-bill. However, if unsure, T-bill is better

Personally, I tend to do T-bills for funds that I don’t need immediately while I keep mutual for funds that I can need anytime. Good thing about Axa, there’s no waiting period for crashing your mutual ( which could be a bad thing if you are not disciplined)

Note: I don’t work for any investment house.

@ahiboilandgas too
if u don't have a personal house it good to have one it beyond only money ,make sure u have a land in a livable area fence it and put gate if I where u I will use my 4 years interest to build the house 8.4m and rent 1.6m by the end of pmb tenure your 20m is still intact plus a new house (400k is for expected inflation)

Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by ahiboilandgas: 8:12am On Jun 28, 2019
Secondly if u build the 8m house u rent the house to your self for like 450 k then your 12m tb investment generates 1.4m per annum so your total income is 450k +1.440 =1.9 m (From your 20m investment ) remember building and land appreciate some hidding 300k will be adding over time not seen immediately at the end of 10 years .cost of building same might be 12 m (So u earned 300k yearly)

But if u choose to do tb and build in 4 years time tb will generate around 10m for u .use 8.5 to finish your house over 4 years and 1.5 to rent over 4 years ...in ten years time u have your house and investment in excess of 33m in tb but warning Nigeria is unstable nation .block was 40 naira in 2004 now 150 ,cement 1200 now 2500 ,worker 1000 per day now 2500, rod 750 per day now 1900 wire 1500 per bundle now 5000 k ....i suggest u build your house IF u DOn't have any personal home but u must stay in the house and stop renting
