True, a good defense could win games especially against stronger opponents. The Greek team that won the 2004 Euros come to mind. However, scoring more goals can aid one in qualifying from tight groups even if as best looser. Remember when we were all permutating for the Super falcons. Truth is, if they had scored more than just 2 goals, it would've made things easier (even though they eventually did qualify)
