To be honest with you, this matter is super complicated. I understand the plea for evidence, but at the same time, the lack of evidence does not mean that something did not happen. Even in courts, you can be convicted by circumstantial evidence and what is called similar facts evidence. I believe there really is no smoke without fire. One thing is clear in my mind, the Pastor sleeps with his members. It may be termed consensual but in law, a higher level of consent is required if you are in a fiduciary relationship with someone. The law imposes a higher threshold for those who are in a position of trust over other people, such that those other people's judgment may become impaired due to this relationship. This class of relationship include lawyers and their clients, parents and their children, pastors/clergy and their congregation, bankers and their customers, etc.

To the case in point, he may not have "raped" Bukola in that sense of the word, but he diminished her capacity to resist by reason of the fiduciary relationship I have alluded to. Her judgment was impaired and he exploited his position of trust. That, the law does not forgive and is severely punishable. Furthermore, if it happened at age 17, that may qualify as rape under Nigerian law. I am not sure what the statutory age of sexual consent is in Nigeria, or even if we have one.

Finally, victims of sexual abuse find it very hard to open up for many reasons. Since this story broke, many people have told me their hidden stories: even people close to me. These sexual abuses were by people close to the family. In most cases, the family covered it out of shame, or because they derive a particular benefit from the abuser and do not want to lose that benefit. Hence, they sacrifice the mental health of their kids on the economic grounds. I even now remember vividly when I was seven how a househelp took me behind the house and did things. Many of my male friends have similar or even more graphic stories.

Even the legendary Tupac Shakur once rapped "My uncle used to touch me as a kid, I never told you (referring to his mum) that, scared of what you might do, I couldn't hold you back, I kept it deep inside, I done let it fuel my anger". Think of that for a moment. That single line encapsulates in a nutshell, most of the reasons why victims of sexual abuse almost never speak up either forever or at the time it occurred.

I am a young man, and at about age 17-18, a pastor often called me to his office in Port Harcourt to teach him to use computers and huged me tight behind the door of his office. Then used his penis to try pressing on me. Because of fear, and confusion I often kept quiet. Till a day at about age 20 I visited the church he was posted to in Onitsha as I was returning on a journey. He made me pass the night, and made us sleep together in the parlour (his wife traveled). That night he attempted having sex with me, but I resisted all night, but didn't say a word till I got into a bus the next day on my way back to Port Harcourt, I sent him terrible text messages. He apologized. I forgave him. 5-6 years later in year 2011, when he opened his church in Ibadan, I donated N264,000 as a NYSC corper (I closed my account) to support his fledging church. It was only today, at age 33 that I summed up the courage to tell him, "never contact me again". Pastors have a controlling power on members. I didn't add, I also put his son on scholarship for about 2 years but ended this year (I paid over 250k to support his son, mainly because though he tried hurting me, he gave me books and advice that really helped me in business and life in general. He also once called a young entrepreneur who gave me this advice at age 18, "what will you want you children to call you? Papa or Daddy". That influenced my actions for life. I suggest pastors constantly go for counseling to avoid destroying the same people they build. He helped me see my talent in computer than studying medicine even when my parents forced me to study medicine. Pastors have strong influence

Nigeria Social Media League ( NSML) as it stand on Sunday 30th June 2019.

Teams. Pts
1. Fatoyinbo United. 66
2. COZA City FC. 65
3. Busola FC. 60
4. Pastors FC. 59
5. Reactors United. 58
6. Suicide United . 55
7. Sniper City FC. 54
8. Naira Marley Wanderers. 50
9. Soapy Athlectic FC. 49
10. EFCC United. 48
11. Yahoo Convicts FC. 47
12. Regina Ned United. 40
13. FC Ned Nwoko. 39
14. Tonto & Destroyers United. 35
15. Ihedioha Villa FC. 34
16. Okorocha City FC. 33
17. No Ministers United. 20
18. Kidnappers United. 18
19. Herdermen Palace FC. 16
20. RUGA United. 15

Meanwhile, the managers of 12th and 13th placed team are under immense pressure to get back to the top of the table where they exchange 1st and 2nd spot respectively before Fatoyinbo United who were languishing on the bottom of the table before signing their merciless striker popularly and dreadfully known as Mr. Krest claimed the top spot with no end in sight in ceeding the spot because COZA City FC is trailing them by one point. However, third placed team, Busola FC is on goal drought after the famous win over Fatoyinbo United over the weekend even though many people called for the use of VAR before awarding the 3 points to Busola FC. Both Pastors and Reactors teams are doing pretty fine on the table as both team manage a draw in their last match with 2 outstanding game for Pastor FC which could see them in third place if they win both thereby qualifying them for next season's Hell Champions League. The accord between Suicide United and Sniper City FC is unexplainable as both teams keep trailing one another after promotion from Non League to Premier League in 2015 when the incumbent FA president , Muhammad Buhari won the election. Many have castigated Buhari for influencing the rise of these two teams by using his power to promote them to the Premier League. Buhari denied the allegation by stating that his childhood team which is Herdsmen Palace FC is not doing fine on the table and is bound to be relegated because spectators are not interested in watching HPFC matches, hence the reason for the low turnout on social media stadia.
As it stands now, lovers of the Nigeria Social Media League are certain that the current spot occupied by Fatoyinbo United will be shortlive because Big Brother Naija Destroyers FC has gained promotion to the elite league after a year in the second divison. This is because they have the biggest stadium for home and away games in the NSML.
No one bothers about the activities and matches of 17th placed team i.e No Ministers United because its not up to six months they gained promotion to the competition.
Lastly, RUGA United fans were disappointed after claiming a point in their last match despite having 90% possession.

We get the kinda leaders/rulers we deserved. Why won't our leaders play us as they wish when we celebrate irrelevant nonsense.

Like hellohuhhuh?

You people should stop this "what will she gain" line, one even asked whether they're hungry to bring up such evil accusations.

In actual sense, that girl that accused CR7 by standards isn't hungry. Asides that, people have their different motive. Celebrity, hungry or not!

All in all, I support none of them, mine is that court is the best place to do that, 15years incident is too small compared to the lady that accused one of Trump's aide, with a sexual abuse that happened bunch of decades years ago.

She should have started ranting on social media, but she chose to do the needful which was throwing the book at him, R.Kelly saga comes to mind.

I have no affiliates whatsoever with the coza guy, never knew he existed prior to the incident. But I wouldn't suspend my sense of reasoning and turn emotional in factual stuff, hereby becoming a slanderer by default.
You nailed it.

This is the only reasonable comment I have been reading so far.

Some took Bisola's side out of pity and emotion but couldn't ask themselves "how sure are we he did it?"

I cannot be defaming someone I know nothing about, it's just like they are committing slandry.

Today being their service day they chose to protest.

Sometimes after displaying anger when we are calmed, we begin to penitent.

Tribunal is the right place to go and not social media.

She could even lose this case as a result of defamation. Her first action was to defame the accused, then went on to social media to make the accused look guilty in the eyes of the public.

Na so e easy to disvirgin person. Make we hear word,
Una dey follow these untalented celebrities looking for how to stay relevant. Am still waiting for them to call for a protest over the quality of education available for the child of the average Nigerian. Nice post jare
utenwuson:
Time dakolo, his wife and all the yeye celebrities that condemning fatoyinbo are mad.
U stay in one corner for over 14 years u didn't say sh*t, how can someone without a gun r*pe busola home and away?
Just imagine, person come your house, u wear only night gown open door knowing fully well no one is home, why not simply tell him through the window the people he's looking for weren't around and go put up something?
U still went to his house, take u to car bumper and romp u in doggy and u call it rape?
Kwara state law says 16 years is the official year for consenting and u said u were 17 shey?
The lady still remain in the church for over 2 years and still lead in the choir haba.
If u are raped, the first thing to do is to tell your parents, your parents should take u to a doctor for examination and a medical report written, then to police or dss for arrest and possibly persecution....
What's paining me is the lie that just a tap to the mouth to keep quite and she fell on the couch to be disvirgin as if it's a small thing...

My problem with most youth is that they don't think critically, that's why they are swindled by God of men and politician. A 17year old is not a kid, most 17year old are in 100lvl in the university.

Someone said the reason He believed her is because she has no reason to lie...hehehe.

Protest over allegation? He should arrest most of them and make huge money from this case please.

Misplacement of priority. Is busola or Timi dakolo part of the protest.
For Christ sake, let the parties involved approach court and free society from Al these hullabaloo noise.
We have a lot of teething problems we need to join force and resolve not this one. Court will do justice to the matter and not the way some lazy yoot cramp together in front of church to disturb the peace of well-meaning citizens.
Don't mind them... when there is need to protest you will not see them, when there's no need that's when you will see them carrying cardboard paper and marker upandown.

Sorry, You're not actually this dumb are you?

1. It CANNOT be termed consensual. Why? Because Busola was **BELOW** the age of consent as at the time of the incident. D you understand? I cannot dumb it down further for you.

2. Know what birth certificates are for?? No, Dumbo. It is used to ascertain the ages of people. I'm sure COZA will document her date of assignment into positions in the church so with the help of those documents and her birth certificate, her age as at the time of the incident can be determined.

Why are a lot of rape apologists unintelligent?
There is no standard age of consent in this country so stop saying she was below the age of consent as at the time of the alleged incident. kwara laws says the age of consent is 16yrs and she claimed she was 17.
Don't also be quick to term anyone who refuses join the bandwagon and term the pastor a rapist as a rape apologist. She could be saying the truth but then again she could also be lying.
Remember also that anyone is presumed innocent until found guilty by a competent court and not on social media.

Meehhhnnn...I have never seen a more stupid people than these idiots protesting against a pastor who have not been found guilty of any crime.

I don't even trust pastors and I have not been to church for years, but then even if the pastor is found guilty, what is the point of this protest?

Are Nigerians this foolish and jobless?

Look at educated men with probably the most dusty skeletons in their closets protesting. Are these men innocent? Many of them have slept with underaged girls and their maids who are vulnerable.

Many of the women here have slept with underaged boys too...look at every one forming holier than thou.

Why throw a stone from a glass house, just because you aren't popular and no one is putting your dirt's out there on media?

I am trying to figure out what the bitterness is that made Mrs dakolo to come out now to talk about something that happened donkey years ago. Is she jealous of the goodies the pastors wife is enjoying? Is the pastors wife showing off to her? Is the pastor ignoring her and making it seem like they never had sex/affairs?

From experience I have seen the length a woman can go to bring down a man that had an affair with her and then start ignoring her like she an shit.

Tupac confirmed this too when he was jailed for sexual assault which he claimed he was innocent of....In his words is the biblical famous qoute "hell hath no fury than a woman scorned".

For the fact that he can't be with all the women had affairs with, this possessive Jezebel had to put him in trouble by accusing him of sexual assault.

Same story as ESE Walters. The ediot that dated this pastor for months. Had consensual sex several times. Then when the guy man moved on as the play boy he is, the ediot lady wanted to tarnish his image and bring him down by claiming she was manipulated. A grown woman brazenly claiming that she was manipulated, not hypnotized? After having sex SEVERAL times.

IDIOTS!!!
Thank you my brother.. WOMEN HARDLY FORGIVE AND FORGET. MAYBE HE PROMISED TO MARRY HER AS A GUYMAN.. AND NOW SHE WANTS TO GET BACK AT HIM

SHE SHOULD GO TO COURT AND FREE US THIS NOISE

So sorry if this is true ,some morons keep blaming the victims why they couldn't speak on time.So morons this is one of the "why's" they couldn't speak.

People subconsciously still try to support and protect these pastors because they want their pastors and religion to be seen as clean and holy. Clasic mental slavery is what it is.
