If your passport doesn't have tattoo don't bother yourself because you won't spend a minute with them.

Uncle don't go to the embassy with fake documents. US Embassy hates plenty of documents.

If your interview is in Abuja, make sure you don't allow the slim white woman to interview you. Skip her once you are called let them know you want to urinate.

Let me start by saying US visa is a privilege and not by right. Hence, you should understand that you can't control the outcome but only to prepare yourself and mind that the visa approval is by chance 50/50. It is very possible (prepare well for the interview) but not guaranteed (have that mindset because the outcome is beyond your own control).

This is coming from someone that was denied non-immigrant visa four times before I applied under the immigrant category and I am now living happily in NY.

Not even that. These people are psychos. I strongly believed they do made up their mind to give certain number of VISAS in a day. It is not about documents, not about assurance. US VISA is just luck. I have someone that is jobless; doesn't have a means of coming back and yet he was given 2 years VISA just like that. My aunty had companies in Nigeria, took all the documents, came and she was turned back

When you get there ask the first consular you meet there

If the program is not free, pay for it get evidence of payment and invitation letter. Show them u have a great job and u are coming back to continue. If u are not self employed get your boss to write an introductory letter to the embassy telling them when you intend to go and the dates you are coming back. Get your flight itinerary and accommodation, statement of account, including ur sponsor's statement of account and prove that he's legally leaving in the US. Good luck bro. I've never been rejected visa application because I always have a reason to travel. If you don't have reason to travel and evidence that you are coming back.

The onus is on you to prove that you will return to your job/location after your visit as you are considered an immigrant and have to prove otherwise. You have to show a high interest in the event which you are going to attend. You should be able to name the key contenders of the competition and state that you have always followed the past events held in Vegas too and have always wished to go for it. You could indicate how attending the event will help to improve your contacts and network and broaden your horizon as many people in your profession will be there.
If there are opportunities for growth in your current gym, you need to indicate that to show that you are aspiring to grow in your current job.

These used to be the criteria to be granted a visa (unofficial). Used to be like a point-based system.
But no longer works 100 percent. For tourists.

Good travel history(especially out of continent).
Being Employed (with payslip history).
Good bank account standing ( without wuru wuru transfer in last 6 months).
Being married.
Living with wife with a house lease.
Evidence of attachment to home country.
Invitation letter from a resident.


Things that can help.

Applying from a non-African country.(Especially Nigeria)
Being on a student visa in a western country.
Going on tour to various countries with the US as part of them.
Being recently granted a visa to a difficult country eg.UK.

In as much as you have a genuine purpose, relax and pray over it

Don't be suprise, you might not be asked any question

But you will get a 6 months single entry visa and make sure you trave within that time and come back before its expiration

After that you may be luck to get 2 years, multiple entry visa.

Canada that recently denied the parents of a friend living in Canada who invited the dad age 80+ and the mother late 70's saying they don't think they will return to Nigeria. I am like they think they won't return at what age thinking it was a joke until I saw the rejection letter.
