Dear VO, My wife and son are on the to follow and i am the main applicant for F4 visa and i have been in the US since 2017 as they were not able to accompany my at the time. Anyway they went for there interview on Jan 31th, which the vo told them everything is okay, but requested for additional document and to there submit passport through DHL, which they did on Feb 12, there ceac status showed administrative Processing for 02,03 while mine 01 show Issued at that moment.. On march 15th they were asked to pick up there passport, but there was no visa and there status changed and remained at ready, while mine has been changing and the last update was on 6th and status show administrative processing up till date. Have email the lagosiv twice and have got no respond. Please advice on what to do. Thanks. 1 Like |

Hello sisiorente, Yes, you can reapply after your paperwork is in order. We do not allow Direct Consulate Filing in Nigeria because we do not have a USCIS presence here. sisiorente: |

Hello jonsen2311, The best thing to do would be to wait for a reply from LagosIV@state.gov. Without more information on your case (which we do not want to ask for here for privacy reasons), we cannot give you any further information. It may take several business days to receive a reply. jonsen2311: 1 Like |

Good morning Visa Officer. Please this is about F-4 visa petition-my brother's priority date is May 30th 2006, but the current visa bulletin for July 2019 under this category is June15th, 2006 and yet my brother is yet to receive any interview date. Please Visa Officer, when do you think he will be able to receive a date for his interview? |

USMissionNGRA: Hi, I had my K1 interview on the 7th of June and was approved. Case updated twice. On Monday, it switched non-immigrant “application received”. And haven’t changed since. The CO said I will get the visa in 7 days. Is this normal? And I already sent an email to the immigration unit. Update: today the 19th makes it the 7th working day. And no update Update: visa issued. Thanks. 2 Likes |

dear vo, I have a white friend of mine who is a very wealthy and influential CEO of an airline company. we met recently and he promised me to help me secure a unites states visa. Now the conversation we had was that he will help me in relocating to the states with my wife but now I don't know where to start from and what kind of visa category would be the best for me to apply for...or should I just leave everything to him and let him handle the whole process for me. I don't want to loose this opportunity as the guy seems serious about helping so what do you think might be the best first step for me? please this is urgent |

Good day Consulate Officer, Thank you for the job well-done thus far,we really appreciate your kind gesture. May God bless you. I am one of the prospective immigrant applicant beneficiaries as spouse Visa. My petition had been approved and my case has been transferred to NVC now for further processing. My wife is presently in the state, specifically Pittsburgh. In lieu of that I want to know the required documents to put forward for my upcoming Visa interview as I got our Original marriage certificate here so as not to waste time and follow the instructions appropriately. I chose Lagos as my embassy and I just came back from South Africa. Also, how many original documents do I need to bring along? What are the necessary document for medical tests, including vaccination and where to do it? What are the important documents for my interview, what documents does she need to send me here in Nigeria for aiding my processing interview and what's the likely know how? Please your kind advice and suggestions will be of great help to me and I will really appreciate it. Thank you so much! |

Hi, I had my K1 interview and was asked to submit additional documents at the DHL office. My question is, how long does it usually take for the embassy to process the application after the new documentation has been submitted? Regards.... |

Greetings Consular Officer, My family and I were issued employment based visas (E-3), but unfortunately mine was recalled and subsequently cancelled for some undisclosed reasons and placed on administrative processing for approximately eight months now. I am separated from my wife and kids due to unresolved lingering of my application. I need help in knowing what to do to complete my application in order to reunite with my family. I sent an email with my case # to LagosIV@state.gov yesterday, Monday June 24, 2019 at exactly 6:30 am and I am yet to get a response. Please I would appreciate an expeditious response. Regards, |
Re: U.S. Immigration Questions: Ask A U.S. Consular Officer Pt. 2 by USMissionNGRA: 12:38pm On Jun 26, 2019 |
Hello sharpman1, There is no specific date or timeline for this. It takes a couple of days just for the documents to reach us and get processed at the Consulate, and then your interviewing officer will review the additional documentation when they get the chance. The length of time it takes to get an update depends on the interviewing officer and the amount and complexity of documents you submitted. If you have not heard back from us within three weeks, please send an email to LagosIV@state.gov to ask about your specific case. sharpman1: |

Hi Consular officer, I am a USC and my wife is a GC holder. She came to Nigeria 3 months ago and we have our baby in Nigeria last month. I already schedule a CRBA interview for our baby next month. I was only approved for 2 weeks vacation because of the nature of my job and the sensitivity of the job (security clearance). I intend to come to Nigeria during this time and be physically present for the CRBA interview in Nigeria. Is it possible for the CRBA certificate to be sent/post to my USA address? Can i pick up the US passport for our baby in Nigeria and the CRBA certificated posted to US address? What is the processing time? Is it possible for the passport to be ready within 2 weeks? |

Good day Consular Officer; I will like to ask if CSPA for F4 derivatives is calculated during the interview or is the visa denied if the derivative is 21 years and 11 months?, also if the consular officer denies the derivative without making use of CSPA age of which the derivative qualifies for, how can one submit an application for the use of CSPA?. |
Re: U.S. Immigration Questions: Ask A U.S. Consular Officer Pt. 2 by USMissionNGRA: 2:01pm On Jul 03, 2019 |
There is no such thing as an "automatic denial" for any kind of application, immigrant or otherwise. Each case is reviewed on its own merits and evaluated carefully. We cannot comment on specific cases, but we can tell you that the best thing to do is always be honest. You will have a chance to discuss your questions and concerns with an officer when you come in for your interview. Nedafort: 1 Like |

Hello Malicious22, It is impossible to answer your question without making broad generalizations about all applicants for a particular visa class. In an effort to make sure we do not post any misleading information about any individual case, we would instead advise you to review USCIS's information on the Child Status Protection Act linked below, and/or to contact an immigration attorney with the specifics of your case. https://www.uscis.gov/greencard/child-status-protection-act Malicious22: |

Hello USMissionNGRA, I commend your work here and how effective the commission has been helping out in giving answers to questions on this platform. Wishing you a happy 4th of July. Pls, I would like to know what's wrong or what I am doing wrong. I invited my mom to visit me in the states, and she has been refused a visa, twice. I have been here for more than 4 years legally and I wanted her to visit me and her grand daughter before the summer holiday os over and weather in Maryland begin to change. I am about to book another appointment for her, and It seems the dates are ahead already. Can I use the emergency appointment, and can I go ahead with the application? |

Good evening VO.. thank you for your help and support.. please I want to quickly ask some few questions. 1. I’m a beneficiary of a F1 category( unmarried son of a US citizen) he filed Nov 2014, we only got the receipt notice up till now there has been no other notice ( approval notice); does it get this long before it’s approved? Or is that it has already been approved? 2. Is there anything we need to do or is there something wrong with the petition? Though I sometimes check my case status on uscis website. Thank you God bless you! |
