But this same Ese has come out to say she just felt like causing commotion. She actually admitted that the sex was consensual, she just felt used, whatever that means. So if the pastor decides to keep quiet then, I won't blame him.

When a married pastor is shagging single ladies , it’s adultery whether they consented or not. And that is commotion already and should have been dealt with.
My point is that they should have allowed him to address the issue then. If he had apologized (assuming he was guilty) and reached out to all other victims in one stroke, this allegation of rape wouldn’t have come up. Now that they can’t protect one of their own, they are coming out to say opas

This her post and Poju Oyemade's post admits pastor did it.

They both apologized.

Now waiting for the accused to tender his own apology.

Acceptance of guilt is an important step in repentance.
Everyone knows that pastor biodun had sex with busayo. The question here is was it r.ape or consensual sex. Cos I believe that if indeed she was r,aped she shouldn't have had anything to do with the pastor in question.

Her continued presence in the church, and even allowing the pastor join her and her husband in holy matrimony after the incident speaks volumes.

My take.

1. They both had sex.

2. She was pissed of after the first sex but kept quite maybe because the guy in question was her pastor.

3. She developed likeness for him, something he noticed which made him come back for more romps.

4. The relationship went sour at some point which made the pastor regain his full pastoral authority over her. Maybe that was during the time she got pregnant for her current husband.

5. She confined in him after the second pregnancy. He suspended her, and he advised her to get married to the father of the baby.

6. He bought her a car gift and wedded them personally in his church to settle her off.

7. She resurfaced years later and began to claim she was r.aped.

From this I believe it's safe to conclude that if pastor biodun should be scolded it should be for fornication and not r,ape

Now on the issue of apologizing, would you apologize to a girl you had consensual sex with, married her in your church to her husband, gifted her with a car?

What exactly would you be apologizing for?

Fact finding is the least of her focus in the post. It was largely about righting the wrongs and she apologized. Why would she apologize if she has no hint of a thing? Why do you think she mentioned 'forms of abuse'?
Its ur type that like to put 'jara' into things. She apologised that some people where hurt by this news. She never apologised to the accuser about being 'raped'. Stop making a mountain out of a mole hill.

It seems you lack comprehension of simple narrative. How is she apologising ? Or am I reading different message. She is only trying to do what is the best practice in a sensitive case like the case of rape , that's why she mentioned allegation.

She didn't even try to stay on the fence. She never said if the accusations were wrong.

Call them "emotionally slow" and what not but one thing you fail to realise is that Nigerians have given this man the benefit of the doubt for all the series of allegations before now and you can't blame them for insisting on justice to be done this time round!

i hope you know there is no difference between allegation & hearsay.. asides Ese walter, which was clearly a case of fornication please mention other series of allegation.
when emotion sets in the brain hibernate, how does been a fornicator justify been a rapist, most men are adulterers does it mean we all are potential rapist, does it mean if you can fornicate then you can rape ..is that the analogy now.

So why was fact finding the first thing she mentioned, What busola said is just an unproven allegation ,and that is whythe first thing she mentioned was fact finding, someone cannot accuse one of doing something and such is proclaimed guilty , your guilty needs to be proven first before passing sentence . As for the rest she is just trying to be as neutral as possible to appease both parties involved and not necessarily supporting busola .
There's an aspect of linguistics called DISCOURSE ANALYSIS. It focuses on analyzing a text, speech, speech patterns, text patterns and how words are communicated. Discourse Analysis are used even in courts of advanced countries.

I analyzed the text just as I would do any statement, facts or otherwise.

1. Busola raised allegations against Fatoyinbo
2. Pastor Funke admitted to have worked behind the scenes, meaning Fatoyinbo has likely been pressed to give account of whatever happened.
3. She also admitted it took her time to come out because 'serious work' had to be done 'behind the scenes'.

Now see this...

1. She thanked God Fatoyinbo stepped aside to allow for fact finding
(a possible obstruction of justice would have happened or that he would rope the church in his mess. COZA was never accused but Fatoyinbo came out to dismiss the allegations leveled against him, using COZA's letterhead paper. He never seperated his church from his person and this was what Pastor Funke meant).

2. And then she mentioned HEALING (who is to heal, the accused or the 'victim'? Is she implying that Busola, seeing Pastor B on the altar or knowing he still preaches would hurt her?)

3. And she mentioned RESTITUTION immediately after healing (who is restituting here?)

4. And then 'JUSTICE CONTINUES' (this, here, is everything. What justice is implied here; that the truth continues to come forward or that Pastor B continues to be the subject of social media trial or that Busola continues to 'suffer'?).

5. ... THAT THE CONGREGATION THAT GOD HAS ENTRUSTED INTO OUR HANDS ARE GUIDED WITH LOVE, INTEGRITY AND WISDOM (love because the truth and pure concern for the church must be exhibited; integrity because Fatoyinbo must deal with the church with all honesty and not sway the members because he is the manager and finally; wisdom because the congregation must not be led astray and support the foolishness of what is thrown at them)

6. THE HOUSE OF GOD SHOULD REMAIN A SAFE SPACE FOR All. (this is more declarative and assertive than a suggestion. Statements as this are often directed at or towards someone or a people. It could be towards Fatoyinbo, members of the church, social media jurors, even Busola and the family).

7. NO FORM OF ABUSE SHOULD HAVE A PLACE IN GOD'S HOUSE (notice she said 'no form of abuse'... Also note this is coming at a time after she has 'worked behind the scene' to make her findings.)

8. MY DEEPEST SYMPATHY IS WITH EVERYONE WHO HAS EXPERIENCED BROKEN TRUST FROM THE CHURCH. BUSOLA. EVERY GIRL. EVERY BOY. EVERY CHILD. MAN. WOMAN.

Perhaps you might want to ask why her apology is coming after she stated that abuse of whatsoever form should not have its place in God's house. Also notice she was specific by mentioning 'Busola'. While you could say it means nothing, understand she is the purpose of her piece in the first place.

9. THE CHURCH IS EMBRACING ACCOUNTABILITY (how? By making the accused responsible, regardless of his position subject himself to justice and allow for it to 'continue'?)

Her statement alone attests and admits certain things even though she was generic with THE CHURCH and not specific. But this is coming after:

IT HAS TAKEN ME TIME TO SPEAK PUBLICLY ABOUT THIS BECAUSE WORK FIRST HAD TO BE DONE TO ENABLE THE PROCESS OF RESOLUTION.

Exactly. This is what I am saying, this is simply a case of adultery which should be treated in the confines of the church. But if its rape as the accuser alleged, then she goofed because she should have sued him. Perhaps a case of paedophile like R.Kelly that's if she was really younger than 18 as she is claiming which in this case, she should also sue. My grouse here is the social jungle justice that is taking place.

Statutory rape is having consensual sex with an underaged individual (below the age of consent)
Rape is non-consensual sex whether it be violent or not

Can't be consensual if she's below the age of consent, though I understand what you're trying to say is nonforcible sexual intercourse with an underaged individual.

God bless Pastor & Pastor (Mrs) Adejumo for this wise advice. I am still so shocked the way people reacted to Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo. This incident (if at all it ever happened) happened long time ago, pastor Fatoyinbo May have still been growing in the Lord then. How old was he then. The pressure may have pushed him to do what he did that time. What happens if this man has secretly begged God for forgiveness and what if God has pardoned him. In our daily life, we commit one form of sin or the other and we plead to God for forgiveness and God forgives us. Why are we castigating Pastor Fatoyinbo as if we are all innocent. Lot of people that want the downfall of this man may be those who last night went into their house-help’s room to also carry out the same thing Busola alleged Pastor Fatoyinbo did to her.
Let’s us be wise is judging this man and let him have his peace. God is a merciful Father, He is always forgiving us anytime we err provided we confess our sins and plead for forgiveness.

That he did it a long time ago isn't the point, but that he claimed no such thing happened in his so called press release. I am not perfect and I am not God but I do understand that admittance of sin or whatever it is I did wrong precedes forgiveness. Has he come out to admit it happened a long time ago? No! He claimed it never happened and that this was the first time he was being accused directly when in fact Ese Walter's graphic details of whatever went down between them is still scattered on cyber space.

96% of girls having sex for the first time don't initiate the process, it's the guys that do that. Some at some point will even beg and tell the guy to stop that's where you see guys begging as though their life is on the line. "Baby it's only the head I will put in" baby I just want to cuddle" etc...most times there's always a little bit of force during first time sex.

How you react during and after the sex is what makes people and even the the initiator interpret it to be either r,ape or consensual sex.

She let her guard down and submitted to him for sex. Which made even the pastor feel it was consensual.

After the act who did she confined in... Nobody

Who did she tell.... Nobody

There's a saying that if you give a free meal to a stray dog, he'll be back the following day for another.

After the pastor layed low for days and everywhere was calm, he decided to try his luck for the second time...and guess what, he succeeded and sex became a regular thing between both of them.

My question is if she was r,aped as she claims why didn't she speak out after it was done the first time. Why let him in a second, third, forth....time ?

If the pastor is to tender an apology, it should be for adultery to his wife and to the church and not r,ape cos the sex was consensual.

If the allegations were wrong, Fatoyinbo would have sued her then, so we didn't dispute the fact that they had sex. But for a matured lady to come out and say she felt used. When she came out to say she just want to feel herself then, you all didn't come after her. While we are blaming the pastor(s) let's also not forget to apportion the role the ladies too played.

Loool you really had time to break this down, there are lots of peeps who cant make an inference.
