How much do you need to show as proof of funds to apply for Spanish student visa ? Quincy07: |
| Re: Spanish Student Visas by Quincy07: 7:25pm On Jul 04, 2019 |
Ladeeey:Hello, Can’t really tell as I am awaiting a response from the embassy. But I am aware that you should have your whole tuition fees and total upkeep for the whole period of study. I heard the embassy calculates upkeep at about 600€ per month. But to be on the safe side, calculate with atleast €800 per month. Multiply that by the current prevailing rate (not CBN please) and get the naira value. You would want to also have extra money in your account. Just to further convince them of your financial capability. Make sure you have receipt of payment for your school fees and accommodation payment. Translate all documents to Spanish apart from your visa application forms. |

Hello, Please what is first step to take in this application process? Do I need to apply for the Visa, then book a legalisation appointment afterwards, or do I need to gather my documents, apply, then book a legalisation appointment? I saw some post in one of the pages where someone advised that the degree certificate, transcripts and attestation letter be forwarded to the Consul by/through the office of the Registrar. Do I need to do this before applying formally, or must I apply before sending the aforementioned documents. I heard it would help save the time and money spent on investigation. Do I need to keep a certified copy of the degree certificate for authentication at the Federal Ministry of Education? Also, I lost my birth certificate some years ago. I was born after 1992. Will an attestation of birth from the NPC and a Sworn Age Declaration suffice? Or do I need to get a new birth certificate. Thank you very much. |

I would like an advice from y’all. Am an employee and I have obtained every other documents as regards to the visa application. Paid my full tuition for one year and I have 5.3million naira in my current bank statement. I am going for a 3 years undergraduate program which requires €5000 per year. Do I have a problem with respect to my finances? Just to be on the safe side. And secondly my leave letter states that I have been granted an approval for leave on the basis of study for a duration of my study period. Is that a good way to have the leave letter addressed? My pay is 200k monthly too and hv been working since for 30 months. I need someone who applied for a study visa as an employee to explain to me how his/her process went. |
| Re: Spanish Student Visas by Josephvixion(m): 12:25pm On Jul 28, 2019 |
Let me explain better. I have gotten admission to study a 3 years bsc degree in a business school in Spain and I have paid my tuition fee of €5000 for the first year. I am using the employee option. I have a bank current balance of 5.3m with other documents except the payment slip. I actually told a registered company M.D to help me with an employment letter and leave letter and also to manipulate a payment slip of 6 months with 200k monthly for me in order meet the visa requirements? Please what’s your take on this? I have my accommodation, receipt of tuition, acceptance letter, insurance worth €30,000, Pcc, medical certificate and all. It’s just that proof of financial means that am worried about. My account statement is genuine and it reflects 300k to 600k monthly paid at once but it’s not stable. |

| Re: Spanish Student Visas by Quincy07: 10:11pm On Aug 02, 2019 |
okokkk:Hello, First of all get a CTC of your first Degree Certificate from your school. Then take that same copy along with your transcripts and WAEC Cert to Min of Education to authenticate before going to Min of Foreign Affairs for stamping. Min of Foreign Affairs will stamp your educational documents along side PCC and Birth Certificate or Age Declaration. Afterwards, book an appointment for legalization of documents. Also you can get an attestation of birth plus age declaration in place of your birth certificate. If possible have your school (where you completed your first degree) send a copy of your transcripts and a reference letter to the embassy before your legalization date to avoid investigation. Do this two weeks before you legalize. You can also write to the Embassy to confirm if they have received it. I hope this helps. |

Josephvixion:Well, I really don’t know. But do you have to give an employment letter? Not necessary! |
| Re: Spanish Student Visas by Quincy07: 10:20pm On Aug 02, 2019 |
Josephvixion:Bank statement is very important. I think a lady here was denied visa at some point because she didn’t have the tuition for all three years. If you ask me 5.3M is not enough for a 3-year BSC program and I guess your upkeep is meant to be part of that 5.3m right? Try to it boost it if you can to be on the safe side. |

Dear All, This thread has been very helpful. I am in Barcelona for almost 6 months , courtesy of this forum. Nothing has changed. Most of the questions have been answered. Just read all the pages of the thread. Experience: 1. Accommodation is part of the visa requirements. I would advice you to request from your school an accommodation letter. Just beg them that you want to use it for visa application. If you are given, that is better. I paid about 228k for accommodation in 2018, and i was denied visa. 228k lost . 2. Make sure you have enough money (not less than 5M) in your personal account. For me I have 9M . 3. You are not allowed to work as a student in Spain. 4. Upon arrival, and you don't have accommodation, you can look for cheap hostel to stay b4 you get accommodation. If you are in Barcelona, you can stay at St Christopher inn at carrer de Bergara, placa Catalunya, Barcelona. 5. If you are in Barcelona and you want to share a room with someone to reduce cost, please send me a mail. Thanks |

Hello good citizens of the Federation. I find this forum very informative. I would like you to help me check my medical certificate if it’s okay for presentation at the Spanish embassy as I will be visiting them very soon. I had to book an appointment and pay the sum of 46,500 at an IOM center to have my accessments in order to get that small certificate. And some other stuffs like cd’s comprising of the text results. Is that statement on the result okay? Because these consulates are full of problems. Thanks
