4month statement is what's needed. You should state "childbirth" in your application.
You can remove some cash but if it's possible not to touch it, then you shouldn't.

Please I would need info about the processing of my baby's document after delivering in ontario Canada. I will appreciate if the below answers can be answered. I know @hotstepper really helps out alot. My wife is in canada and when she applied for the birth certificate, she stated that she was a single mother because I work in a remote location and I cant go to the canadian embassy in nigeria( This was based on advice that I can add my name to the birth certificate later on).
On the canadian website, it is stated that the birth certificate will take 15 working days and we cant expedite it(we called the customer care and they said the same thing). we have just 17 days left on her return ticket.

1. Does anybody know the process of adding my name to the birth certificate?
2. How do I get his canadian passport and nigerian passport with in a short time ?
3. Has anybody experienced this 15 working days delay in birth certificate in ontario canada?

kindly advice.

Kai....who gave u this yeye advise ooo....
I do not know how a name can be added cuz certificate is soemthing that is printed ( this question is part of what u should have asked the pereon who gave u this info) ..So it is either she calls and cancel nd reapply with both of of u. So this romote place u work, there is no car or boat that can take u to town to get to lagos or abj for the signing?

Now what i do not know if there is anything that will be required of u to do if she goes ahead to apply for passport as a single parent. Maybe a letter of consent nd all

1. It usually take 7 working days unless there is plenty applications. she can try and call them.
2. There is no really quick way so i alwqys advise ppl to give ample time atleast 1 month after birth to make sure everything will be out. Now since birth certificate is not out nd mistake don happen, it is back to square 1

some answers I found...

All Canadian children, from newborns to age 16, require a passport to travel. Only a parent with legal custody of achild may apply for that child's passport, although both parents must sign the application form.

Exceptions to the Dual-Parent Signature Rule. ... If only one parent is listed on the child'sbirth certificate, then two signatures are not required. If you have sole custody of yourchild, submit the court order establishing custody along with your child's passport application

So in a nutshell, there will be a.legal document for her yo submit to provr she has sole custody

I work on the sea, so it is difficult to have access to land at a certain period. we called them to cancel but they said once you submit the form you cant cancel. The person on call said once she receives the certificate she should call again that they will give her a form to send to me to fill and send back to them. It is based on the content of the form that they can now add me to the birth certificate.

The person that advice me said he wasnt also available and his wife filed for the certificate as a single mom. when she came to nigeria, he now sent a notorized document for him to be added to the certificate. They created a new certificate for them and sent it to the specified address in canada.

Good evening house and @ Hotstepper, my hotel reservation which I used in my application is in Six days time but I have not heard from the Embassy regarding my application. Should I cancel the reservation or just let it be. I applied on 1st June. Thanks

You are not meant to use a paid flight reservation. Check the terms of your ticket for cancellation. Your visa can't be gotten in 6 days if approved.

Good afternoon Dear, actually it's not a paid flight, just a booked flight reservation. So it's their need to cancel and if yes would it affect the chances of getting my application approved?

If it's not paid, it's automatically cancelled after the number of days you are allowed to hold on the reservation after you booked. It doesn't affect your application.

Good afternoon house,

I would like some pointers, @hotstepper, kindly indulge me. As someone going to Toronto as a new PR and pregnant, what can be done about accessing medical services during the 3 month wait period? Also, can you assist with getting permanent accommodation in the GTA, prefarably the Oakville, Burlington region? I tried to send you a personal message but I'm not sure it went through, I have some other more private questions that I would like to ask too. Thanks in advance.

@Greatg0809; any new development on yours yet? Actually have been waiting for your feedback this week per your application, if there’s yet no decision made mail, it means they have absolutely exceeded their processing time, and you can do them a mail and receive a response from them now.

Seems there isn’t an update on current processing time on their website this week yet though

Which one you dey? USA or Canada cos na same thing you drop for both thread
grace789:
Please house, what do you advice?

Husband and wife want to apply for tourist visa. no children yet, wife not pregnant. Husband is the main applicant, gainfully employed with a good pay check and currently servicing a mortgage. Wife is self employed, running a start-up company duly registered with all financials and tax details. funds available is about N7,000,000 (CAD25,000) majorly from the husband. Is it advised that both apply at the same time? if not, who should apply first?

Just to be sure 100% too

If a husband and wife are applying for Canadian tourist visas from Nigeria and the husband is the sponsor, do they use just 1 application profile (not the application form imm5257) where the husband provides details required of him and the wife is listed as a family member accompanying the husband or 2 separate applications profiles and have them linked just like UK applications?

"Do you want to submit an application for a family member?" This question is the issue. If the husband answered yes, the attached picture is all required of the wife.
