Edo Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, has dared those he termed ‘Abuja politicians’ to come and take over activities of the Edo State House of Assembly.

Governor Obaseki, who spoke tough, wondered what happened to some politicians that joined in the struggle to entrench ‘Let the people lead’ mantra.

Speaking at a well-attended rally in Bénin City, Obaseki said Edo is in safe hands with himself, Deputy Governor, Philip Shaibu and Secretary to State Government, Barr. Osarodion Ogie.

Obaseki said the political tension was to distract him but he would remain focus on delivery of democracy dividends.

He many ‘Abuja politicians’ have refused to come home.

As somebody who is an APC stakeholder in Edo state i feel very ashamed the way obaseki is going about this matter. The issue at hand is not as serious as he is portraying it to be in the media. When he removed revenue collection from the hands of Akugbe ventures, everybody in the party including Adams Oshiomhole supported his decision.Honestly,Adams gave him free hands to manage both the party and the state. The problem with Obaseki is he doesn't condone contrary opinions in the party.I remember during the last general elections,he insisted on Iyoha going to Rep instead of Obaze that was supported by Tony Kabaka and other APC leaders in oredo, Oshiomhole allowed him have his way and Iyoha eventually lost woefully.I usually feel pained whenever he label some APC leaders as greedy, yet he financially sponsor Protest and induce some leaders in state financially. Finally,I think this is another lesson to governors who want to influence or hand pick their successors.Adams Oshiomhole imposed obaseki on Edo APC.I still remember how boys went to flog A top APC chieftain in Edo South at home because the man and some other leaders were supporting odubu.

so a former governor should start dictating how the present governor run his state? Sorry biko we don't do that in Edo state.

Oshiomole had his time and he misused it. If not for chairmanship position he has, oshiomhole wouldn't have been a threat to obaseki

You didn't answer my question you said Oshiomhole is a thief and i agree with you.My question is if Oshiomhole who is a thief is the same person who imposed obaseki on Edo APC and installed him as the governor of Edo state what then is Obaseki?

Don't mind that guy.Obaseki doesn't have political strength in Edo state. In the last presidential/NASS elections he lost his Ward,LGA and senatorial district. The lost all the Edo house of Assembly seats because they were broke and their were unknown faces.

My governor, I think you're distracted already. This needless rally where you spent millions of naira of Edo state money is a clear evidence that the heat is getting to you already. I love you, but i don't think today's rally was necessary. To rent crowd is no big deal, you didn't have to go that way to prove a point. This battle is a long one, you would be amazed to see lots of betrayal on the way. Politicians can't be trusted. Eventhough I'm your fan,I disagree with the manner of inauguration that held in the state. Please come down from your high horse and resolve this matter on the round table.

Obaseki is a Bini man, they have by far the largest voting population in the state whilst Oshiomhole comes from in insignificant minority. This is Nigeria and when the chips are down, the ethnic card takes over. this is a battle that oshiomhole cannot win,...

Okay waiting for you to speak as a stake holder in Nigeria. With no political affiliations, do you think his actions will be beneficial to the citizens of his state?

I think people are underrating this gov. He has shown over the past years that he can fight dirty too. Senator Urhogide still hears echos of the slaps he received, same with Oshiomole's brother. Obviously, he's not another Ambode.

That said, the narrative of the squabble is making the people align with him. He insists the party's leaders in the state wants him to share the states resources amongst them and he refused. Thus getting the people on his side. And since it's a democracy, the people are the ones who vote. So, he might have the last laugh.

The motor park projects he's embarking on is a laudable one and his other projects (though sub-standard ) are populist enough to swing votes to his side.

I hope he wins the party's ticket but lose to the PDP in the main elections (because I strongly believe that no governor is as good in second term in comparison to their first)
