I'm yet to come across anyone interviewed by the jovial, nice, heaven-bound members of Panel 4 smiley. It was chaired by a nice, rather young looking lady and had 4 other amiable gentlemen. 7th floor.

Anyone?

When I left the building that day, I looked back at it...... and said "I will be back before the year runs out". I don't know where the confidence stemmed from but till now, I still have it. Best of luck to us all.

I was interviewed for Transformation Officer which is an upstream change management role. I met some marketing/management professionals in my batch so you are likely right.

The panel's remarks after my session included "That was a quick, exciting session unlike others today..." and "It seems you're already a player in the oil industry..." (when I managed to weave in production sharing contracts concessions & tax breaks into my answer to the question that sought government fiscal incentives designed for the oil industry, and blasting the upstream/downstream differentiation question - thanks to Jarus).

What date and time were you interviewed? Did you also find them to be quite relaxed & cheerful? What was the nature of your questions? Cheers.

I rarely comment on here... but I would like to plead with you all not to derail this NNPC thread with whether there is a god or not!

I know many who are going through this recruitment process -- and we rely on this thread for info -- but we do not comment. Imagine if we all comment with all type of jargons on here, then most of us will miss out on important information.

With you all lampooning those sharing important tips - and question hints, I want you all to understand something... Yes, this is a competition, but we are different. I was feeling confident myself on the day of the interview -- I was armed with tips and hints that I have picked up on here.

While waiting to be called into the interview room, I witnessed two great guys visibly shake before they went into the rooms. I saw peeps who were jovial while waiting came out with a straight face. I particularly saw a guy whose experience on his CV was outstanding -- as in, we were literally congratulating him that he was going to ace this interview -- but what happened? First, his CV was badly arranged and worded -- and he did the unthinkable, he had his CV printed on both faces of the A4 paper. We could have cursed him out while pointing it out to him, but we encouraged him instead. When he came out, he couldn't manage to smile. When he eventually flashed his teeth, it was a grin.

That was when I started to be self-conscious -- then I lost my self-balance. I started shaking. Wow!

I received greeting/sitting/appearance hints from the guy ushering us in -- and he was open enough to say many have failed on that. DO NOT SIT BEFORE BEEN OFFERED A SEAT. BUTTON YOUR SUIT WHEN YOU GO IN, UNBUTTON WHEN YOU SIT DOWN.

I did as I was told, started well -- until I got the technical question that was related to my university course of study -- I couldn't answer the first, the guy was cool enough to assist me, and when we both concluded I have no idea, he beckoned on the other panelists (they were all four) that could he ask me another question, and they replied YES. And then he asked a newer question, which I answered. But he wasn't convinced enough - as though he wanted a textbook definition of that. We want back and forth over it, and then we moved on. Then came the first situational judgment question, and the technical guy urged me to speak deeply again. Before I got the second situational question, I was urged to go deeply and all. So I did, and I was told I was spending too much time talking. The 5th and last question been on safety. He said give me 4 tips. Once I read out the 4 tips, he said I should give him one more, that I should make it 5. I lost my balance again for the second time on that day -- I couldn't say a thing till they all muttered TIME UP, and they asked if I have a question. I did ask, and they were taken aback -- like there was no answer for me, and the Chief panelist threw the question back to me, and it looked as if I had been trapped. Wow, I lost my balance again! Till I left the room!

So, getting questions tips does not do much if you will not carry yourself well. In fact, you do not even know what the interviewers are looking at.

So, let people share if they wish - it doesn't affect their chances. Federal character will be employed in choosing the successful candidates -- do not disregard the man-know-man connections that will make it happen for some persons too.

Alas, a little bit of luck & grace is needed. Let's hope for the best! I can't wait for the testimonies that would be shared on this platform when many of us are sent the APL! Good luck!

My brother, your narrative was exactly what I went through that day... Before entering the panel room, I was so full of confidence. The first question asked threw me off balance but I still managed to answer though

Morning everyone.,
Please, who's the 6th member of the 6-man panel. Is it the person that'll usher you into the interview room or the one that will scrutinize your credentials.
Just curious because there were only 5 persons behind the table, as for my panel.

Ok guys let's continue the experience gist since no one will see it as "expo" grin this time knowing interviews are over.

I got to the towers in high spirit on my said interview date about 2 hours before my interview time and then stepped down frm the car majestically like it was mine cheesy las las na Bolt i control wink. On getting to the entrance, one no joy lady asked my scheduled time and without wasting time used her hand to pass further instructions; "Go and join your mates under the tree was the glaring message". I jeje followed instructions; got there and did one or two hookups (no time oo).

Fast foward to my interview proper.

"Panel 29" i heard from the very friendly but mouthed man at the theatre. I jumped up and after confirmation, I alongside 2 others were ushered out. (At this point the boy don down plenty water and body still dey hot grin). I quick ask the lady for rest room and three of us enter. "You look good" a staff i met in the rest room altered and with a smile i said thank you sir. At last we got there and one of the interviewers came out collected our files, went back in and after few minutes he waz back and gbagam i heard my name. "today na today" i whispered to myself but las las we go they alright. I entered met a panel of 6 with just one Lady. The secretary of my village pipo whispered "Sit down" thank God i asked d Holy Spirit to lead, i said lie lie i refuse to sit cheesy. Then d Lady said "sit", (after i greeted them though). keeping a smiles ganished with tension and a little touch of uncertainty, i sat.

The lady took the lead, she was nice asked how my trip went, the meaning of my name, how i wouldn't be able to hide my state frm my name. Then another man asked the meaning of a closely related name and again the third man asked his. I was relaxed and gave them the answers and how the names were either for males or females. Then they all introduced themselves and the lady politely requested that i tell them about myself, which i did and in the process i told them my current places of work which the Lady waz cool with (reasons i don't know). then the president of my village pipo struck. As i wan sell myself, i added that i was a fast learner and a good listener and gbagam, the tough man in the panel who was before now on call heard it and said " You are a fast learner abi?" (With no smile oo) at that point the boy knew he had bleeped up sad . But the Holyspirit was still in charge anyways, I quickly made him understand what i meant calmly and he still asked, how did you know you pay attention to details? I gave my answer and all others were smiling.
Then the first question came from him. What is your take on technology and how do u think it has affected the world. Gbagam fr my mind i no see this one for anywhere bfr i come oo... wetin happen to questions abt nnpc n how i can impact na?. But las las i guess it came because of the nature of my job they saw. I was able to answer calmly and then he personalized the question to me n i started by saying the fact that i have the opportunity to stand before them or even know anytin abt the coperation is the help of technology. They all smilled except the boss that asked. At some point he asked if they could call me... i waz smilling thinking it was a joke, bt they all deliberated and coined a title for me frm my experience(which they found interest in) and then wrote it down. There was another question from him and then a team work situational question frm anoda member.

The HSE man then took a deep breathe and commended me for speaking very well before asking his HSE question. i initially interpreted d question to mean what i knew abt safety and after much explanation, the tough man said their interest is how i tke safety measures as an individual not my general knowledge on safety n i had to start all over, this time personalizing my answer.

I did see the youngest in the panel who sat behind me raise a tag with 10 on it while i was talking... Maybe it's for dressing (not certain) and again i saw the first two marks of 1 of the panel members which were 20 and 19, bt didn't see others except when he wrote 8 down after i answered the HSE question. I don't really know how many marks the Safety question carries. The lady spoke last asking me if i had any question fr them, i commended them and asked what next after now.
The Hausa man in the panel smilled and asked if the process hasn't been smooth since it started and i answered that i have been very impressed he then said i shouldn't worry that the process will continue like that and that i will be contacted soon. I thanked them, keeping my smile and the youngest panelist said he would walk me to the elevator point since the usher wasn't present, which he did and on our way he shaked me and said "You did very well" i thanked him. But deep down i knew the Holy spirit was incharge. Las las i reach block D krest my account details then control my bolt guy grin.
Telling myself i will be back soon.

In all of this, like i typed when i dropped 8 A. M answers here with my now deactivated acct, no matter the number of questions my efforts cannot answer, "It has been settled"... It is not about your effort alone. What anyone think of God, luck or whatever; i repect, but my own be say APL go come and i will celebrate myself and my soon to be colleagues here.

Meanwhile anyone with info abt how they scored or those who saw theirs could share.

Make una no curse me oo cheesy as usual i no they reply, i no get power to fight. God bless us all.

the only thing I don't agree with in that screenshot is that they would publish names of those that are successful in newspapers. This is not a scholarship or an admission process .. So I don't think those who would be sent APLs would be published in newspapers

Just remember that virtually everyone prays to God for protection, yet people will still die today, tomorrow and everyday thereafter. So what criteria will God choose in picking those he will spare their lives..... Will he spare those that have demonstrated capacity in crossing the road, or those that have demonstrated capacity in driving without hitting another road user, or those that can sleep without closing their eyes, or those who are extra careful to know when their gas cylinders are expired or about to explode....... Did God love Jacob more than Esau, did God love Peter more than Judas, and for you that you're still in the process: does God love you more than those that are better than you in terms of capacity, but have died in the course of the process..... Just being open-ended.

What is the relationship between capacity to solve problems and capacity to survive accident...if at all it exists? Does one develop skills (formally or informally) on how to survive accidents? Do people discipline themselves through hardwork on how to dodge accidents or survive plane crash? shocked shocked shocked

I don't even have the energy to delve into your Jacob-Esau analogy. FYI, not everybody on this thread practices your religion.

Your analogy is spurious and embarrassingly saddening. If you must use analogies, use the ones that are apt.

Panel 6 interviewed me on 3rd July 2019. the panel consisted of 4 men and 1 lady. They were friendly and introduced themselves by saying their names. They asked me several questions (12) on my knowledge, experiences, situations, general questions and HSE. They asked me if I have any questions. Any one interviewed on Panel 6 at the Finance and Accounts Directorate. Great people I must say.
