Donelli:
Good to know the thread is back. I just spent the last hour reading through. I wonder why the last one was closed, though.

Let me add my drop in the ocean of contributions by the chiefs in the house.

*removes cap in humility*

We've already been given hints on how to avoid some problematic calls, let me add a few pointers from experience.

1. Avoiding calls longer than 5 minutes will reduce your chances of picking FC-UK calls by 80%, and CLH calls by 30%.

2. Assuming you're ambitious, which I'm guessing you are wink, refer to previous post about how to identify FC-UK calls. For example, a 10 minute call in which you're given 5 hours (+/- 10 minutes) is definitely FC-UK.

The issue will now be, how to tell a CLH call apart from others. In theory, tougher calls are given more time to complete, and more payment incentive. So, bearing this in mind...

To cut the chances of picking CLH calls by up to 50%, check the highest expected pay rate.

If for that 10 minutes call you see $1.99 or more (that's $0.2 per call minute pay rate), it's definitely CLH. But if it is about $1.96 upwards, it's 50-50 chance. A lower pay for that call further reduces the chances that it's CLH.

The only caveat to this rule, I noticed, is when and only when it's CLH season. Like it was, some time last week. But for FC-UK, the rule is unmistakable.

PS: FC-UK is British, while FC is American. You should try to work on FC if you get it by "mistake". You enjoy the benefit of higher rate just like FC-UK, but at reduced stress.

Happy transcribing.
Bravo Bravo. You did that excellently, grin
I once hated life working on a regular Funding Circle call grin
Then and there, I fell back in love with with FC UK by force grin Audio quality was so poor I'd have lost my mind
Anyway, everything you outlined is a 100/100
The funny thing is, longer calls that are less fragmented may actually favor newbies who can work on a PC with good battery life and power supply.

if i am to make corections on a job i have submited before, is it that i will repeat the job afresh by transcribing from the begining and insert the corections or i will see what i have typed before and then make the corections where needed?
You will most likely get what you typed before if you use Chrome. Only that the time stamps may have changed so you have to rearrange the rep and customer tags. It's a great feature

If you're allocated 5 hours to complete a 10 minute audio, just know it's FC UK call. But, for CLH Lawyers, it's not easy to detect until you've picked the call.
Attempting FC UK as a newbie and especially using a smartphone (unless you're good with British accents) is a good way to waste effort.
Don't be in a hurry to submit a transcript, ensure you can you've been thorough.
thanks. I appreciate.

Never use VPN for the ls or sa pp. The jerk is to front as a Nigerian doing biz in ls or sa. VPNs re risky cos you could unknowingly select the same IP address as a pp account that has been limited before then they will request documents from you. Also don't log in to several pp addresses on the same IP or device. You can't be too careful. Those guys are waiting for you at the point of withdrawal

Good morning house, I am a newbie and from the coaching from here I took my test and pass, opened my pp acc and finally took my first transcript but rated '0.' I am actually using phone, which is greatly a factor for my poor result eg small phone space make the workspace choke, keys are either under each other or far up or down somewhere. PLEASE, WHAT APP OR HOW CAN I BEAT THIS POOR PRODUCTIVITY PENDING WHEN I CAN AFFORD A PHONE? EITHER, SHORT CUT, APP OR SOFTWARES, THANKS.

Clear space on your phone. Get a memory card.

Don't undermine your resource at hand; utilize it.

The boss have dropped some tips, which you have read.

The only tip I can give is to create space on your phone. Get a memory card.

I would also like to SPECIALLY acknowledge my boss Hausadreturn, every time my rating crashed or I struggled with the rating notes, he took his time to help me back up and the result was immediately reflected on improved ratings. TBH, my ratings crashed below 3.3 from 4. plus and I ran back to him and now I'm back up to 4.3 average for the last 10 calls.
So, special thanks also to every other contributor on the thread who has been resourceful. RESPECT.
I also learned a lot and put old knowledge to work by working on transcripts that require Googling to decipher words, phrases and brands.
boss Mi, abeg no vex o. What app do you use or even methods or skills? I have only gotten one 3 rating in my last 11 calls. Am confused bro.

Wo, the this QA stuff dey annoy me now.

Last two calls were 1's.

That should be for someone that is learning English.

I don't even know how they rate sef.

They said improper use of ellipses, and I used it as it was stated in the book. I swear weak. Even to get three na war.
I used grammarly, na still the same thing.

This thing is really annoying.

Improper use of ellipsis means u used ellipsis wrongly.

For example:

Rep: I was going to check when last (he did not complete the sentence)

Next time stamp:

Rep: when last your loan got approved.

The above should be transcribed as:

Rep: I was going to check
Rep: when last your loan got approved.

NOT

Rep: I was going to check when last...
Rep: when last ur loan got approved.

If u use ellipsis in this scenario u will be penalized.

As a newbie I will even advice against using ellipsis unless u are absolutely sure dat u are supposed to use it in dat scenario.
From my experience, u won't be penalized for not using ellipsis, but u will be penalized for using ellipsis wrongly.

I have not come across a rating note, like you failed to use ellipsis or something like that.

Check if you have static or dynamic IP. It's better if it's dynamic but if it is static, I will advise you to do mtn 100 sub just for the paypal. Make sure that the new IP address you're using is different from the ones you've used previously, and don't link a card that you have linked previously on another account. Clear all internet history, cache and cookies before opening a fresh pp without vpn.

Incorrect use of ellipsis means u used the ellipsis, but u used it wrongly. Like the example I gave earlier. If u are not sure on where exactly to use ellipsis, just don't make use of it because u will be penalized for using it wrongly (u won't get 1 for incorrect use of ellipsis sha).

The reason u got a 1 was because of the missing content. If it was only incorrect use of ellipsis they might have given u 3 or 4.

U get rated 1 automatically if u fail to transcribe some valid part of the conversation(Like a response to a question or somtin u might feel is not important, or an audio segment that needed the ESC key work around).

Based more on the interest rate. Because businesses do come back a few weeks down the line and...

Customer: Yeah.

Rep: ...Yeah, because you can get like

Then the client interrupted.

I then used the ellipses to continue where the rep stopped.
