The jersey was the problem..

My opinion though.

This is what our policians should do. THEY FAILED US BIG TIME, they know this but to save face they will be looking for corruption. I am yet to see any politician who is not corrupt in Nigeria including PMB. The worst thing is that they are too lazy. They won't do their job and when the result comes, they will be looking for just the next person to blame !!!

You were completely outclassed.

Algeria should win the trophy...They are the best team in the tournament by a wide margin.

Ighalo has been asleep since after the match against Cameroun...Maybe he has woken up now....

I don’t totally agree Algeria was better tho we had a bad connection with our major strikers. Musa, ighalo, chukuwmeze and iwobi didn’t find a collective way to beat the tight defense of the Algerians it was more of individual efforts which didn’t have a powerful effect. Our defense on the flanks were weak.

He probably doesn't train and get paid to run. He's not an athlete, unlike Ighalo that is paid to do this all his life.

If you meet me in the hospital and I give a wrong diagnosis will you pardon me and ask yourself if you can dispense drugs? No, you will call for my head immediately and not accept any excuses.

Use that same energy everywhere, on your politicians and athletes too. I won't watch NFF splash money on you and you come and play rubbish. Nobody cuts me a slack when I'm at work, so why make excuses for Ighalo?

Think!
Do you rank among the 1000 best practitioner in your field? to me Ighalo has done decently for himself, from the streets of Lagos to the level he is now is quite an achievement, you guys never seize to have gotten over the Argentina incidence

Mr! First of all, playing for the National team is not a job. You can play anyhow you want and you owe nobody any excuses. If they don't like you they should drop you.

Secondly, it is a direct competition. As doctor when you see a patient is he or she deliberately trying outperform you? Under those circumstances, it is clear that an athlete cannot perform beyond his or her own talent level. What do you want him to do, become Ronaldo overnight?

You are being sentimental...

If Algeria had taken their chances, they would have been four goals up by the end of first half.

It is clear the Algerians were according an otherwise flat Nigerian side too much respect.

The Nigerian players were shell-shocked and were relying on luck to go through...Chukwueze, Musa and Iwobi were rendered impotent in the whole 90 minutes.

When did the Algerian defense had to face a sustained onslaught from Nigeria?

Algeria were better technically.

They upped the ante towards the end of regulation time to avoid having the match extended to extra time. The better team won...Nigeria had no answer.

There is little or nothing you can do about quality...Mahrez was peerless against an average Nigerian team shun of leadership.

U guys tried oooo...But the Algerian team was 100X better...next time instead of going to the beach, taking photoshoots and underestimating your opponent, learn to do ur home work well...cuz for a country to qualify to the knockout round, means they are up to the task.
I laughed when I heard some Nigerians saying Algeria was an easy way through to the finals...reviewing both teams stat, Algeria was the better team to beat Nigeria. They conceded only one goal b4 playing Nigeria n scored more goals than Nigeria...But yet Nigerians couldn't see that, all they could see was some ancient history of Algeria not being able to defeat Naija in the past.

Our attack build up was not good enough. Igalo, tried his best but it was not sufficient enough. They should have played the false winger where Musa and Chukwu attack more centrally to augment for the gaps ighalo had. Defence on the other hand was very terrible and nothing to write home about. I begin to imagine what the scoreline would have been should Algeria have converted their chances.

Akpeyi is d one dat is to be blamed,ok u set ur defence wall and still go and stand behind d defence, what wer u thinking, mahrez saw d his blodder and make good useful of it,Akpeyi lack communication skills with his players.Ezenwa would hav been a better option in dis Tounament.

Obviously Algerians don’t have a strong attack, like we do if we had their chances we wud have scored. Algerians had a good defense that’s why it was harder for us bt they had a sloppy attack. 1st goal was even an own goal which helped their moral to alot of extent. They are not better

This eagles coach is the worst I ever seen. Why take off a player like chukwueze that is the only player troubling the Algerian defense only to bring in a Henry that plays like a pregnant woman. I said it before now, this coach is technically down. At the last world cup, he flopped against Argentina, now see again. Siasia is far better than this man. He can't even read games to know what to do.

Anyway, They lost, i won.. grin i am going now to cash my £1000 bet win on Algeria to win. grin

Riyad Mahrez is a forward...

Just like saying Cristiano Ronaldo is not an attacker because he is a midfielder by trade or wears No 7 at the back of his shirt...

Some people seriously believe that they lost simply, because of their Jersey. my question is,does wear or jersey play ball?

Nigerian professional footballer Odion Jude Ighalo speaks on the the loss of Nigeria to Algeria. Gistvic Reports.

Odion Ighalo said the match was a very difficult game as they gave their best but it wasn't enough as they hope to win their next game against Tunisia for third place.

He said:

The Super Eagles on Sunday night lost a massive opportunity to win a fourth AFCON title in a 2-1 semi-final defeat to Desert Warriors of Algeria after a last minute free kick goal by Riyad Mahrez.

If that's your best then you don't deserve to be call professional footballers, your passes, movements n positioning, your kick execution etc were all very poor, it's time Nigeria develop a standard criteria of inviting players to the national team, not just picking somebody because he found his way into one obscure league in Europe n is able to score a couple of goals against weak oppositions,I will suggest we adopt the 6s,I:e skills , stamina, speed, strength, size,n spirit of team work.some of our players are just too horrible like the goal keeper Akpeyi,he shouldn't have conceeded the marhez goal, marhez didn't curved the ball over the wall,he played it closer to Akpeyi's position yet the keeper couldn't Parry it mumu.

Guy, it's not about getting to semifinals... It's been difficult to watch these guys play since the group stages... They were just lucky, and the luck finally ran out...

Even Ghana had a better tournament than we did in terms of game quality. Let's tell ourselves the truth, our boys did not gel at all.

Well, we all have our opinions...
Senseless talk like this always vex me. Ghana were poor in this tournament

I still do not accept it as the worst . Algeria was lucky too, they managed to survive a penalty that would have eliminated them to the semi's.
