She probably used the VIP process. I'm not certain. But what would she have done differently.

I called her to ask.lt is not VIP application. She applied in Lagos and she even told me that a sister collected her study visa that same day she collected her own and the processing time was less than 8 weeks.

I received a decision letter from SA high commission today after weeks of delay! They wrote "Visa denied because the hotel reservation lacks credibility " however you can write rep letter or appeal at VFS center in less than ten days of this receipt!
Has anyone experience this before? Or what do you suggest I should do on this thanks.

Didn't you make payment for the hotel?
Re: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by Nobody: 3:17pm On Jul 16, 2019
Yes, I only booked both hotel and fight without payment cos I'm not sure if the visa will be issued.

Hmmm... My brother cashdosh said hotel must be paid. I think if they see the payment for hotel booking they will handle the case seriously @EdenNG

Just reapply and make sure you pay for your hotel this time. Don’t even bother to appeal. Apparently, your hotel reservation was canceled by the hotel because you didn’t make payment. Hence the the embassy could not verify your hotel reservation, they decided to deny you. That was a silly mistake though!

NO
Re: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by michaellild(m): 4:09pm On Jul 16, 2019
Wasn't VFS supposed to tell you to pay before submitting your application. They have only one job to do! They're just making you waste unnecessary money. Sorry about that.

Thank you for this detailed information, I appreciate

SAQA takes about tow weeks or less to get a feedback. What might take your time is how fast you can get your transcript.
What you will need are
1.) Undergraduate transcript attached with your degree certificate.
2.) WAEC certificate
3.) Unused WAEC scratch card
4.) There are two forms you'll print while applying on their to print and fill.
NOTE: You are to send all these document in hard copy to their mailing address on their site. You can't send the original of number 1-3, so you have to go to a near by law court and get the photocopies stamped (certifies true copy). Each page should coat about 100-150 Naira.
The SAQA fee is about 40,000 Naira excluding DHL, for the two documents you're vetting.
This Is for Masters degree.

There is no guarantee that saqa evaluation will take two weeks it depends on your school response .I have seen saqa evaluation that took 3months because the school in Nigeria refused to reply .Often times schools in Nigeria do not reply on time and some ask for verification money .2. Saqa evaluation for first document is R1900 and second document is 600 making 2500 .How come 40k naira ? Above all , candidate with bsc do not need to evaluate waec the bsc is okay no need evaluation of waec for applicants applying for masters program ,candidate with m.sc applying for PhD will evaluate only masters. it is a waste of money to evaluate two documents . You only evaluate two docs if you have OND and HND certificates .

Book hotel for 14days and pay one or two nights and let the hotel manager issue you receipt ,attached the receipt to your application and submit afresh .Do not appeal

Let me drop some tips for any one who wants to do SAQA evaluation for masters.

Have certified copies of the following documents

1. Your degree certificate
2. Your transcripts

Plus the other application forms from SAQA

Without these two you will get an incomplete documentation email

Then have someone you can liaise with at your exams and records office or whatever the name is at your institution.

This is to minimise delays as some schools can take forever to respond. Also sometimes saqa may send incomplete transcript, so that's why you would need someone on the inside to help you attend to these things speedily.

Is two weeks possible, theoretically yes (assuming your institution responds promptly) else it could take you as much as three months to get it done.

If you have a bachelors degree, you only need your certificate plus transcript

If you have OND + HND, you need both certificates and transcripts.

Waec/Neco is only for people who are starting first degree not post graduate.

Hi everyone. Can anybody help with info as regards the delay of visa issuance especially study permit. I applied on 15th March at VFS Lagos with sufficient funds {sponsored by my dad} and other documents. Its 4 months now as at Monday. I ve contacted DHA in SA and they do reply with mails to offer assistance, i was given 2 weeks by them but expired last week. VFS isn't helping as well. Although the school i got admitted for PhD in Chemistry is aware of what is going on and also the medical insurance.
A friend got to SA last week and said he got his after 4 months, same as an acquaintance. Is there hope that we March applicants can get our visas this july, with the idea that February applicants got theirs june.
This has become annoyingly tiring.
Any info will be appreciated.

This is not funny anymore even PhD applicant. They should consider doing non submission of international passport then because I cant imaging having my passport with them for 6 months.

Re: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by sirrotex: 4:49pm On Jul 17, 2019
You need to book an appointment before submission. If you are lucky enough VFS can assist you via email, if not you need to go to their office with your passport datapage. I was at their office on July 15 and the submission date is August 14. So long a time.
