Guys, please who can help summarize how life is typically for an illegal immigrant in Canada?

Do you think it is a risk worth taking?
Canada is not like the Us where one can live illegally and thrive. without a SIN one can practically do nothing get a car, an apartment, no bank account e.t.c. the fellow would be subjected to cash jobs that are equally not easy to come by and tortuous. please advise the fellow otherwise.

Please are there people on this thread who applied for the federal skilled trade class. I want to meet someone who successfully scaled through the process. Is it same process with the skilled workers, because I read somewhere that the CRS scores are lower because you are not necessarily using degree certificates etc.

Hello all,

There's something bothering me that id like to share with the house. First to get a closure on it if possible and then for others to learn too. I'm Post ITA and I intend to submit my application before July ending hopefully.

My major issue here is the exchange rates. Initially, it used to be 269 or so, and going by that it'd be 3.4mil for a single applicant. I was working with that and targeting 3.5mil so that anyhow e be, I'd be on a safer side.

This morning I woke up to discover its been up to 277,20 on xe and oanda. That means I'd be looking at 3.5mil and if I still want to go ahead with having a little surplus, that's abt 3.6mil. Way way higher than my initial plan.

This made me do some additional research and I read somewhere that when u submit after ita, the POF is locked on the exchange rate for that day and whatever subsequent increase or decrease in the rates, won't affect what you had tendered on day of submission. I was skeptical abt this but decided to ask how true it is.

I also want to ask a very funny question. If resident in Nigeria, is there a way one can open a special account such that you'd save money IN CANADIAN CURRENCY there. So for example, I safe 12,700 there as a single applicant, so whatever change hpns in the exchange market does not affect my fund, after all its already in CAD? That way, only a review in POF margins can affect my fund atleast while application is been processed.

Finally, my salary acct is with stanbic Bank and I have no intentions of using it for funding? Do I still need to submit statement for the salary account? Event hough its not been used for POF purpose? Same thing applies to my stanbic pension acct. Is there a need to show that too?

Hello House,Sorry to digress again. For those that have written IELTS is it a must I have my passport now to write the exam as I have applied for passport since 1st of July and am yet to write it. I intend writing the exam in August so that I can enter the pool by September. Plz I need your opinion.

You need to present your passport at the exam hall. You won’t be allowed to take the exam without it

Good evening everyone, please i need some clarification.

For WES verification, can we use a WAEC result that has 5 credits that does not include English. He has maths and other subjects except English. Meanwhile the GCE he did that had English was while he was in polytechnic already. His poly accepted the waec without English for his course. He wrote waec in 1998,got admitted into poly 1999,wrote gce 2000,graduated from poly 2001.

They are not concerned about your grades or which subject as long as you have the certificate

Good morning guys.
Please I have an urgent issue to clarify.

I’m having date of birth discrepancy in my First degree, and it might be impossible to rectify, should I remove it from my WES profile, and stick to evaluating my masters.

If yes, when evaluating my masters with WES, will there be any mention of the first degree or anything relating to it.

You could swear an affidavit.

That way, only a review in POF margins can affect my fund atleast while application is been processed.

Thirdly, I have like 60% of my POF in my gut acct, wch I intend to use for the whole financial statement stuff. Then abt 30% is in my UBA acct and I'm expecting the remaining 10% from my brother. My plan is to get the 10% into my UBA, then go pay it in cash, (alongside the other 30% also in my UBA) into my dad's account, so he subsequently transfers the whole 40% to my Gtbank. Then we do the notarization stuff and all that. House how do you advice I proceed? Is it a fair plan? I wish to invest the whole POF in treasury bills. I'm sure I'd be given a certificate and letter of non indebtedness from the bank. Shld I also print out statement of acct?

Finally, my salary acct is with stanbic Bank and I have no intentions of using it for funding? Do I still need to submit statement for the salary account? Event hough its not been used for POF purpose? Same thing applies to my stanbic pension acct. Is there a need to show that too?

Well, you can convert your money to the dollar equivalent.

Put the dollars in your domiciliary account..

Then see if it can be fixed.

You won't have a SIN number, That means you cant work(legally) only if you find a job they pay you cash.

You cant have acceptable proof of identity, which means you can't get a driver license also and cant drive.

No one(immigration officers) will disturb you tho, but there are a lot of limitations. and I won't advise.

It might differ in some province also.

you don't need a strong contact. Go and apply the way everyone does. If it is not processed within the time frame given, you can then look for strong contact.

Wooowww!!! You need to calm down because you are embarrassing yourself right now. Tie break rule is expressly, clearly and literally explained on the IRCC site. They even used simple illustrations to explain how it works. All you need to do is read.

Hello I am a Lawyer. I used both WES and IQAS only because I had started with WES before I found out IQAS was better because they evaluated as a ‘first professional degree’. WES evaluated as a ‘bachelors degree’ only. The major deciding factor is how many points you need to get ITA. If your WES evaluation has given you enough points as you have created a profile, then you have no issues. Is it clear?
Silversurfer1:
Please does anyone here know any Lawyers who used WES to assess their degree and successfully emigrated to Canada with it? I take God beg ona, I need answers please

Hello gurus,

I have a major problem at hand. I plan to marry my girl before diving into the pool but the problem is that my girl was once married until her former husband's demise. Now the problem is that she has been using her passport with her husband's name since then, her ielts is in her husband's name while her credentials is in her maiden name. Now she's thinking of correcting her passport so that it can bear her maiden name. The questions are
1. Won't this correction on her passport invalidate her ielts result?
2. Is it necessary to change her passport name back to her maiden name before we get married and jump into the pool?
3. I want to marry her asap, does she have to get a new passport bearing my name putting into consideration that the new name also will invalidate her ielts.

Gurus in the house come and see to this, I don't wanna leave her behind

Hello good people in the house, I came across this question in trend 6..... It says, does WES evaluate CIPM and other professional Certs without WAEC? but no one responded to that question. May be it was ignored for some reasons but I think that what the person ment was after evaluating other cert with; say ICES and others, can he/ she evaluate professional Cert with WES without going through the rigorous WAEC wahala. just to make up 2 or more cert.
Pls does this require WAEC for all Nigerian Cert both professional and degree.?

Any quick response will help me and others out there.
To avoid story that touch the pocket.
Thanks.
