See the difference between Aina and Awaziem.
We always like comparing players all the time. Awaziem has contributed his quota and he did it so well

We need to stop fouling right outside of the box. It’s a stupid habit we have.

The coach ought to have brought in Aina for Awaziem when it was obvious Chukwueze was marked out.

These Oyinbo commentators are laughing at the fact that Rohr will do a refresher course.

Must they scrutinize every a little thing?

See the difference between Aina and Awaziem.

Both players contributed when they needed to.

They are useful and skillful in their own rights, many have tagged Awaziem the revelation of the tournament, and he has done his bit, playing in an unnatural position.

This comment is uncalled for, after all, Aina has had his share of gaffes in this tournament

Ighalo may just overtake Yekinni as the player with the best goal to game ratio for Nigeria..

nevertheless I hope to see Osimhen play today

Please give Awazeim what credit is due to him.. he tried his best while playing in an unfamiliar position..

I hope this game will finally convince Rohr that Aina is good enough to hold the RB position in the team

Awaziem didn't play badly against Algeria but he ought to have been substituted in that game after Chukwueze was isolated. That remains my point.

Everything must be understood in context.

The context of Nigeria is different from the UK.

What motivates most players today is not patriotism but economic hardship and desperation to leave Nigeria and find better opportunities abroad. The U17 has been historically a spring board for many career in football for Nigerian born and resident players. Such desperate Dans are prepared to do almost anything. Sign off thier allowances to the coach, sign up with his preferred agent or proxy agent, etc, etc.

THAT IS NOT PATRIOTISM so before we proceed get clarity on what national patriotism is and whom the true Nigerian is and should be.

A Nigerian origin player in England playing for an EPL club could easily be on £20k a week. Such players are not hungry and or desperate. They are uncompromising on the subjects of probity, integrity and professional etiquette. Something that may be alien to most Nigerian residents players, essentially they can not afford to have integrity. And the coaches all take advantage.

Fortunately and unfortunately l have first hand information on a number of these situations.

Ademola Lookman and Ovie were invited to U17 selection when they were relatively anonymous. They were not selected WHY and the entire exercise was marred with sharp practices and blatant corruption. It would leave a bitter taste in many a persons mouth.

Nigeria had the chance to sign Ovie and Ademola but rejected them, they did not reject Nigeria. Now that have blown and we are now looking for Ademola.

Jordan Ibe was bought up by his Jamaican step Father very nice guy. His Nigerian Father was NEVER AROUND that creates issues in itself. He has never shown any affinity for anything Nigerian.

Last week l spoke with Ovie he is waiting for the call up NUTTIN so far.

Chuks Aneke is now in the championship with Charlton arguably the best AM in league one and two. When he was at Arsenal the NFF flirted with him but didn't carry matters much further again.

He waited for call up NUTTIN.

I agree that Onouha and Agbonlahor didn't honour invitations but that's more to do with inability of the NFF to have strategy to ensure long-term engagement and relationships with Nigerian origin players in England. You don't wait for them to blow first.

In conclusion l ask what makes you Nigerian ❓ That ability to give and take bribe the absence if truth, honour, integrity and righteousness❓ ❓

I say this because I was born in the UK although made in Warri. I speak my language as well as Ibo and a smattering of other Nigerian languages. However, it is much easier for me to win an election as an MP in the UK than it is for me to contest basic state house of assembly in my state Delta. Unless I am prepared to reject truth, honour, integrity and righteousness, join cult and swear oath of allegiance to some high flying god Fathers.

However, I am not prepared to do this, so by your proposition, can l ask you, am l not a PATRIOTIC NIGERIAN

Oga, Lookman rejected the chance to turn out for the Super Eagles in friendlies against Senegal and Burkina Faso, he didn't want to mess up his chance of representing England at the world youth championship. For someone who is a patriotic, I would think a senior cap would have been the better bargain than playing for the U20s.

These British players have always embarrassed the country time after time. I remember an interview Shola Ameobi granted when he was a hit and the probable Shearer replacement at Newcastle, in the interview he said he choose to represent England for all the right reasons. Dickson Etuhu while at Man city turned down Nigeria earlier in his career, even his younger brother who later when to jail, Kevin Etuhu also rejected the chance to play for Nigeria.
Charlton Cole personally told Babayaro then at Chelsea that he has decided to rep Nigeria, but we saw him flip immediately England showed up. A decision Babayaro said he found it bewildering.

Do I talk about Agbonlahor? Berti Vogts invited him for his first game in charge, what did we get? Eggs on our faces as usual. Nnedum Onuoha was offered a place on a platter 2010, his family and agent made sure he didn't accept the invite.

Oga, true patriotism means sacrifice to motherland. Accepting the clarion call whenever called upon. Patriotism means making your country the first choice. I'm afraid, these guys you so defend do not have Nigeria as first choice. You can argue it from now till eternity but the truth will always stand tall like a cigarette.

If Osimhen gets to play that means every player in our squad had a taste of AFCON football.

Could that be a new record? First team to use the entire squad in a major international tournament? cheesy
