People deal with trauma differently.
Because you would tell your spouse you were raped doesn't mean someone else has to. Not everyone is ready to revisit the trauma of old. Being raped is no fault of anyone except the perpetrator. It's a very painful experience that no matter how much you try to forget and move on, it haunts for life.
Some have committed suicide because they were raped by some beasts. Some have turned to drugs to suppress the feeling of disgust and self loathe that comes after being violated. Some wake up with daily nightmares, anxiety and insomnia that no amount of sleeping pills can cure. These are real life issues and you need to see some victims in psychiatric homes.
Don't talk the talk unless you've walked in their shoes.
Deciding not to tell your spouse that you were raped before you guys met doesn't mean you are a fraud. Far from it.
I pray all rapists are brought to book, even after 50years. May they spend their old age in regrets. May they lose all they have ever worked for at the last minute when they need it. May their existence forever remain miserable.
