Died on active duty
His parents sent him to Youth service and not to die on active duty cry

Channels is losing another reporter in a similar circumstance, they should protect their reporters covering conflicts with Kevlar vests and helmets

Channels TV is an irresponsible station. How do you send a journalist to a combat zone to cover news without a ballistic vest? A Level II or Level IIIA would have protected him. One would have thought they would have learnt from the death of their correspondent in Kano in a bomb attack. Apparently they have not.
Well said even with ballistic vest, only experienced journalist covers such and not newbie. Just like I said, field experience matters a lot when it comes to journalism

You're right, and this is the same problem with almost every sector in this country, we just can't get basic things right. This was a very avoidable death.

When I heard the news tonight he had given up the ghost, I was so much angry with the unprofessionalism of Channels TV. Till now, I can't fathom how emotional I'm. It was avoidable. No matter how zealous the guy was, he shouldn't have been asked to go cover the deadly Shiites/Police protest. What were the senior correspondents doing? Very unfortunate for the young man.

Continue to RIP,Precious

Not to defend Channels but
Foreign journalists also die even when fully kitted
The job is
hazardous
Reason am now even a DCP died
It's sad
Many people laugh at NTA journalists that they report at the scene after 4 days, but here's a station that wants to up their game and take back their trophy from TVC. Sadly it has cost the life of a government pikin all Corps members are government pikins.
May he rest well oh
I wonder if the first aid and hospital also acted promptly
