Ebiye was already an ugly piece of human excrement to begin with, no thanks to his genetics. The black paint actually made him a bit less repulsive.

Let me use your mum for a silly joke and lets see if your skin is thick and not snowflakes? You must be living in a cesspit to know that jokes like that can end ones career. Go joke about LGBTQ in a civilised world if they won't crucify you. Many have lost their jobs due to silly jokes. If you are a comedian, you must have content that is not offensive. Or you for use Jesus or Muhammed crack silly jokes if people won't come for your head. Oga, stop forming thick skin nonsense, you're just plain silly and unintelligent.
Mr. Man, I created a topic on freedom of speech and expression. Check out the topic to know where I stand. Insulting someone's mother or joking about LGBTQ is a fundamental human right. It's called freedom of speech and expression. Using Jesus or Muhammad to joke is a fundamental human right. The fact that snowflakes/liberals/SJWs/religious extremists throw tantrums and call for the crucifixion of those who say or joke about things they don't like doesn't make such human rights invalid. Ebiye meant no harm and was simply trying to catch some fun.

Grow some thick skin and stop seeing offences where they don't exist.

Shut the fvck up. This is why our women are bleaching their beauty away. As for me, I love slim chocolate girls kiss and will choose a Lupita over a cardi B.
If someone's joke about your skin colour makes you change your skin colour then you must have a low self esteem and the inability to think independently and maturely. Ebiye meant no harm, intended no racism or hatred, and was simply getting some fun. You can only get offended if you insist on being offended.

Hope you will laugh about it if a white man Jokingly refers to you as a black monkey? undecided
Ogbeni, did Ebiye refer to Lupita as a black monkey? A harmless joke without any intention of hate became offensive because soft people took the luxury, afforded them by the easy times they live in, to be offended at inoffensive things.

If someone called me a black monkey with racist intentions, I will simply ignore the person or call him a white monkey(if he is white). If it's simply said with no ill intentions, I will laugh it off and reply with a nick name.

I'm sorry, but you're not sounding very smart.. If he made his joke not mentioning any names, nobody will pick offence, e.g after giving a very black girl head... We may laugh, even if it's not funny, but mentioning someone's name with a very dirty joke is in bad taste.
If you're not dumb, you should know that.
Would you be this cool if Lupita was your wife or your sister?
Lol. Even if he didn't mention any name, people would still be offended abi you are living on planet Neptune that you have forgotten that, thanks to our easy times, we have a generation of snowflakes who have the luxury of taking offence from inoffensive things? Ebiye meant no harm, he had no racist intentions and was simply catching some fun.

If Lupita were my wife or sister, I wouldn't be offended.

Why do people take things too seriously? What's bad in joking about skin colour? This generation is filled with snowflakes and people really need to have a thick skin. The point of the comedy was that Lupita is too dark in complexion.

Don't mind them.

I laughed so hard at the joke.

And learnt of a new comedian Ebiye. Doesn't make me look down on beautiful Lupita.

The whites now decide how black people REASON. So bad.

The joke was more of a mockery to her black skin, like her dark skin is unattractive and dirty in a way that anyone who makes love to her will feel dirty

People react to things differently people read meaning to things differently, a joke you might laugh off another person will pick offense and fight, but this particular joke is a sensitive one sensitive because that's exactly how racist white people paint their faces black anytime they want to make mockery of our black skin, we Africans are always preaching to those bleaching to be proud of their black skin, making a joke of someone who maintained her natural black skin is offensive, he should have made the joke in a positive way, like the darker the berries the sweeter the juice the darker the skin the deeper the roots, that sounds more positive

What if I justified Islamic terrorism and blamed critics of Islam because "people react differently, criticism of Islam is sensitive and they should have been more understanding"?

Don't start an argument here, am only telling you why people reacted to that joke the way they did, it has nothing to with me, i live in a world of my own with my rules my beliefs my principles and my religion you saw their reaction didn't you? Just telling you that joke was a sensitive one, many people might interpret it like the example I gave previously, it's a joke yes , but he should have passed whatever message he was trying to pass in a way black people will be proud of their black skin , the massage was passed negatively I will say he lacks creativity

This is the problem with you folks. If someone's joke about your skin colour makes you feel bad about your skin colour and makes you change your skin colour then you must have a low self esteem and the inability to think independently and maturely. Ebiye has no obligation to align himself with people's standard. If inoffensive things make you offended then either you toughen and grow up, or you remain a baby with a soft skin. No one owes it to you to please you and flow by your standards.

@red

Very good many people got low self-esteem and get easily offended no doubt,
If you say that guy has no obligation to align himself with people's standard then he shouldn't be a comedian in the first place, if his a comedian and gets paid by making people laugh then his under some type of obligation as a comedian to make people laugh, the people will tell him when his jokes are funny and will tell him when his jokes are dry and offensive that's just what those people who reacted just did, the guy is in the entertainment business

People didn't find his joke funny and creative so he didn't do his job well a comedian who can't make people laugh is not a comedian at all

so because it is coming from a black man its not that serious? But if a white man were to do it ,you will be the first to shout racism. If we as black cannot respect our selves how do you expect other races to respect us?
Lol. The skin colour of the person telling the joke or making a statement is not important instead it is the intention and context that matters. Imagine if a 5 year old caucasian were friends with a 5 year old black and the caucasian smeared his entire face with black paint because, according to the caucasian, "he admires his friend's skin colour and wishes to be like him", would you call the caucasian kid a racist?

Mr. Chukwudi used a black ink to mimic the Yoruba tribal mark out of the desire of contempt and hatred for the Yoruba race while Mr. Okonkwo did it for comedic purposes and, in addition, to star in a film. Who is the bigot and how do you judge the bigot?

By the way ,what does too dark even mean? If your are black, you are black, you dont see white people making mockery of themselves for being too white,do you? There is racism in its boldness still going on around the world and for a black man to even have the nerve to tell another black person that they are too black is the stupidest joke ever. Like bro you are black to the white man, there is nothing like not too black in their dictionary.

Lol. Black is black, no doubt, but if someone says "Mr. A is too dark", it should be understood by anyone with common sense. Beyonce and Lupita are blacks but Lupita is DARKER IN COMPLEXION. Who cares what the white man thinks and what is in his "dictionary"?

A comedian that gets 90% of his audience offended by a joke he believes will be funny, didn't do his job well a comedian studies his audience understands how their mind works and manipulates them with his jokes in a way they will laugh,

No. A comedian's job is to tell jokes. The fact that the audience do not find a funny joke funny does not mean the comedian has failed. Ebiye shouldn't sink so low to please snowflakes that might even pick offense at the sun rays.

Hush my friend! I very well know that the whites in the '40s - '60s, and even later, smeared their faces with black paint/charcoal/chocolate to make racist fun of blacks. The "black face" doesn't have to be a symbol of racism against blacks, the intention and context of the person wearing the black face is all that matters. Ebiye meant no harm, no racism or hatred but was simply trying to catch some fun. Would you ban knives because people used it in the past to kill people?

People need to grow some thick skin and stop seeing offence where it doesn't exist.

I like how ignorant folks just quote shit to support their baseless theory. In that America, black face is seen as pure racist joke and nobody gives 2fucks about the intention of the black face wearer.
Secondly, What right have you got to decide who is "too" black? Are you God's assistant to tell us who good accidentally added too much paint on their skin? Blacks are more racist and evil towards blacks yet we shed crocodile tears when people of other races talk shit about us. Everythibg is a joke to the typical black buffoon

Nobody gives a fvck about intention and a lot of people see "black face" as offensive, how is that my business? Are they the one to set the standards? In labeling people as racist, intention and context are what matters. Imagine if a 5 year old caucasian were friends with a 5 year old black and the caucasian smeared his entire face with black paint because, according to the caucasian, "he admires his friend's skin colour and wishes to be like him", would you call the caucasian kid a racist? No one assumed the right to determine who is too black. Lupita and Beyonce are black women but Lupita is too dark in complexion. The meaning of that should be clear to anyone with an average IQ. If you insist on picking offence, that's your business. Everything is offensive and sensitive to the deplorable snowflake.

If you have experienced racism before, this will hit different when its a black man bringing the foolery to you. Go on foreign forums and see what people with even Beyonce's type of skin are experiencing when it comes to racism,so where does that leave lupita,if a black man is the one to give her to the wolves just for jokes. If a white man is to follow suite and do same to her, it will racism, but you think its OK to mock her because its coming from a black man?

I say again, you don't have sense if you still don't see the point everyone has been trying to make.

If you disrespect your wife or husband in the presence of your friends or family, they too will loose respect for your spouse. Lets respect ourselves if we want other races to respect us. There is no disrespect in Ebiye's joke except you insist on being offended. People should toughen and grow up instead of having everyone stooping so low and limiting themselves to what every Tom, Dick and Harry deems offensive and sensitive. A lot of muslim men find mini skirts and criticism of Islam offensive, should we ban women from wearing mini skirts and people from criticising Islam?

If you say that this analogy is inappropriate because people have the right to wear whatever they want, I would ask if Ebiye doesn't have the right to make such jokes?

Didn't I say repeatedly "it doesn't matter the skin colour... intention and context are all that matters" ? What the hell is wrong with you? undecided

Wait you still insist his intention was not to ridicule? undecidedYou know what ? You are obviously those type of jerks that go around being assh0les and think everyone should get used to it. I am glad the world is no longer getting used to clowns who are oblivious of other people and are so self absorbed and expect the world to accept their foolery.
Lol. If you and other snowflakes insist on being offended at everything, that's you guys' business. One thing I won't stand is spineless toddlers with adult bodies trying to limit other people's freedom of expression because of what they find offensive. Ebiye and I are not assh0les and we owe it to no one to please them. No one has the right to not be offended.
