Dear Immigrants and VO,

For those that have gone through this process...Please where would I get my police clearance certificate at Lagos and How much is it, then how do I apply for my immunization treatment because I had none but saw it as the requirements for medical tests also?

Thanks as you respond!

Hello Duuzsz,

According to the July 2019 Visa Bulletin (linked at the bottom of this post), the priority date for F1 immigrant visas is 08 Mar 2012. That means that if your petition was filed on that date, you should expect to be called for an interview soon. Because your petition wasn't filed until November 2014, you will have to wait a bit longer. Nobody can tell you exactly when that will be, but if you routinely check the State Department visa bulletins, you will have a better idea of when you will be called.

These visas are numerically limited by fiscal year, which explains the long wait time. F1 visas are currently limited to 23,400 a year. Please review the following links for more information:

https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/legal/visa-law0/visa-bulletin/2019/visa-bulletin-for-july-2019.html

https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/visa-information-resources/glossary.html#N

Duuzsz:
Good evening VO.. thank you for your help and support.. please I want to quickly ask some few questions.

1. I’m a beneficiary of a F1 category( unmarried son of a US citizen) he filed Nov 2014, we only got the receipt notice up till now there has been no other notice ( approval notice); does it get this long before it’s approved? Or is that it has already been approved?

2. Is there anything we need to do or is there something wrong with the petition? Though I sometimes check my case status on uscis website.

Thank you God bless you!

Good Afternoon,

Dear VO,

I have a few questions that maybe you can help me with. My husband and stepson I 130 was sent to the Embassy for processing. We have already updated the d260 and was wondering would the embassy be contacting him for further instructions? Or is there a step we need to take to make psychical, police clearance and interview apointment? Also on May 21st, 2019 my husbands I-601 waiver was approved. However, I did receive an email of this approval, but I did not receive the NOA with instructions on what to do next. Can you please give me some advice on what to do next or how to obtain the NOA. I kindly thank you in advance for any assistance you can give us.

Good afternoon.. please i have some questions to ask.. my family visa will expire in august and have already book an appointment for our interview for September.. now my major concern is this my wife is pregnant and i want her to give birth in USA , though we have good traveling experience..we've been to uae together while my wife and child have been to London together.. we traveled to USA together and went to the same place i told them i wanna visit at the embassy. we spent just 2 weeks . then my wife and my child went the second time this Easter. i couldn't go with them cos of work so they went all alone and spent just 10 days. at the point of entry they ask if my wife is pregnant and she said now which is truth . but she is preg now.. now my main concern is this i know this people will ask if my wife is going there to give birth since her preg is showing already. we planned going for December for holiday and spent like 10 days as usual but i want my wife to be there till she gave birth cos of stress while i come back home with my child. so before her delivery day i will travel back to meet her.. i don't know the best way to go about it with the consular. am trying to be on a safe side please advice me.. thanks.

Good day and happy Sunday! Please i am in F3 category. I made payments for all the applicants(family of 4)successfully but while trying to pay for the Affidavit Of Support, I keep getting an error message on the screen as follows:

"There are one or more errors with your submission. Please correct the area indicated below. Once completed, click the make payment button to continue:
An error occurred while summiting your payment. Please try again later. DB error occurred rolling back. Service fee 000015471613 has an active payment.this payment cancelled".

My wife was previously on F1 category but got married before she was called for her interview. During the interview she notified the embassy that she is married and she was automatically changed to F3 and requested to summit her spouse's and children's birth certificate for further processing. Currently, we received an invitation to proceed in our application and make the relevant payment. The petitioner was requested to pay for another AOS fee which we are unable to process because of the error messages we get. Please could it mean that the previous payment the petitioner made when on category F1 is still active? Please advice. Thank you!

HI VO,
I am a US green cardholder. Please, how do I include a newborn baby after my wife's I-130 application has been approved and transferred to the embassy for an interview? Thanks.

Hello emekaolu,

If the visa has not been approved yet, you can send an email to LagosIV@state.gov letting us know about the birth of your child. Please attach a pdf copy of the birth certificate to the email and request guidance on obtaining a medical clearance for the child. Your spouse should bring the child, birth certificate, and secondary evidence of her relationship to the child (i.e. photos, medical records) with her to the interview. Congratulations!

Hello VO,
I am on the immigration queue
I travelled and stayed in Cameroon
Married a Cameroonian and have a stepson.
My wife has never lived in Nigeria more than 2 weeks, she only visits. My stepson has never visited Nigeria.
Due to the closeness to my PD on the bulletin, I am deciding to relocate to Lagos alone first
My question now is, Will my family need to produce Nigeria police report since none have lived here up to 6 months?

Hello USMissionNGRA

Is it wrong to apply for a B1/B2 visa when one has an F4 immigration petition pending (which will not be current for at least 10 years)

We were denied our tourist visa for this reason and we are wondering why we cannot visit the US for vacation just because we have an immigrant petition whose processing will take q very long time to complete

Thank you

Hello AJEGBINJEKARAUN,

Every IV applicant must have an affidavit of support form. The different types of forms are found on the USCIS and travel.state.gov websites. Overall, the petitioner is also a sponsor. If the petitioner has insufficient income to sponsor two more people, plus her current dependents and the principal applicant, then the petitioner can get a joint sponsor. Both the petitioner and the joint sponsor must input the names of the children on the affidavit of support forms.

Good day,
I intend studying at Brandon university, buh people keep discouraging me that I should not bother applying for interview that I would be rejected....

And my sponsor is quite ready, able and capable financially..

Is it safe to apply...... Can visa be given on merit when one is 100% honest and truthful with his intention or the visa is quite restricted and one is 95% sure to get rejected even before starting the interview

Dear Visa Officer,
I am the principal applicant under F4 visa. Our interview is coming up in September 2019. My wife and three sons are beneficiaries.
My problem is my three sons are students outside Nigeria and will go back to their schools after the visa interview and I will like to ask if it is a most that we will all travel to USA same time or they can travel independently as time allows them before the visa expires due to school work?
Best regards,
KEVIN.

Hello offorbuike,

Please contact LagosIV@state.gov with the specifics of your case.

offorbuike:
@USMissionNGR

We are a family of 8 (my parents and 6 children). My Aunty(my dad's sister), the petitioner resident in the US applied for the visa for only my Dad and 3 of my siblings and only their documents were sent to her for filing. They disqualified 2 of my siblings and accepted only my dad and only one of my siblings. The interview date is out and now, even my mum and other of my siblings whose papers were not even filed at the moment were shortlisted to appear at the interview. We wish to know who and who are eligible for the visa so as to ascertain those going for the medicals in preparation for the interview. Please treat as urgent as our interview date is in a fortnight. Thanks.
