A Nigerian farmer shows how to kill many catfish easily.

The fish farmer asked a question online

"What’s the fastest way to kill 51pcs of catfish?"

He showed a simple way of doing it.

He poured salt on the fishes and they began to struggle until they eventually died.

The farmer did this in front of kids. Some Nigerians have criticized him for doing that in front of the kids.

While others said he is a murderer.

Hypocrites everywhere and when they were small, they use to chase Christmas chicken, catch it, hold the two legs for their mother while she slits the poor chicken's throat. After that they will now pour water that is above 125 degree Celsius on the poor creature, then remove it's feathers and watch how their mother dissect the once lively chicken and butchers it into meat.

Our generation grew up during the most brutal austerity measure instituted by any nigerian govt...
The late 80s n 90s....
Wages was poor, unemployment was high, travelling out wasn't this common, the economy was in permanent recession....
I remember I trekked from school to my hostel for a semester, just so I can afford to buy myself a pair of jeans n trekkers...
Yet suicide was very uncommon, we saw it as a white man's problem...
We find ways of getting by the constant daily struggle n it's cyclical challenges...
Nowadays, when I read what pushed people into suicide....
I really wonder if we've not tried too hard to copy the western lifestyle faster than we can cope, without fully understanding the process nor considering it's unpalatable consequences...

The reality is that suicide and other social vices were rampant in those times too, but we didn't get to know because the internet was not available to make them go viral, mobile devices were not common in order to record these events. Now that smart phones are cheap, internet is common every body can now record and send online for public viewing.
