The following is from the internet:

How To Appeal A Rejected Schengen Visa At The German Embassy
There’s only one way to appeal a rejected German Schengen Visa and that is by writing an appeal letter addressed to the German embassy.

Here are 4 things you need to know before writing your appeal letter:

1. The appeal can only filed by you, a legal representative (a lawyer for example) or a person authorized by you in writing (a family member for example). I think it’s best to lodge the appeal personally without the help of others to show the embassy that you are serious about your visa application. It is quite easy to do it. I will show you how below.

Should you choose to ask the help of a lawyer or another person for help to lodge it for you then you will need to write and include a signed Letter of Authorization which they need to be able to submit your appeal. You don’t need a travel agency to help you with your appeal but they can help you write an appeal letter or organize your supporting documents for the appeal.

2. You can only appeal within one month of getting the Schengen visa rejection. There’s a different timeline for other kinds of German visa. This one-month deadline ONLY applies to tourist or Schengen visa. I suggest you apply as soon as possible specially if you’re traveling soon.

3. It is FREE to appeal. There are no fees involved in submitting a Schengen visa remonstration at the German embassy in Manila.

4. You can write your appeal letter in English or German. Unless you’re very fluent in German (which I highly doubt), then write in English. There are a few guidelines for writing the appeal letter. You can check them here for the most updated info.

How To Submit An Appeal For Schengen Visa Refusal
You can submit your appeal by courier service, post, fax, email or personally at the embassy. I suggest submitting it via email because it’s faster and much easier. You can do it without leaving your house. And who owns a fax these days?!?

Submit by email:
Email the German embassy at visa@mani.diplo.de with the subject line: Remonstration for Full Name. We used a more urgent one for my sister since she was flying in less than 2 weeks. Her subject line was URGENT: Remonstration for Full Name – Flight: June 25, 2016. We used this so they know that this was a rush appeal. And it worked! They called her in less than 48 hours to approve her visa.

Remember that they need an appeal letter signed by hand. So you MUST print your appeal letter, sign it and either take a picture or scan it. We took a picture. And created a PDF of each supporting document. So here’s how you can email:

Email to: visa@mani.diplo.de
Subject: Remonstration for Full Name or URGENT: Remonstration for Full Name – Flight: Departure date

In the email she wrote:

Good day! I am writing to remonstrate against the rejection of my visa. Please see in the attachments my signed appeal letter and supporting documents. Hoping for your quick response as I am planning to join my parents on a family trip to visit my brother on June 25, 2016.

Thank you for your consideration.

RedStar Express picked my documents Thursday 25/07 and delivered to me in PH just now.
Though I filled single entry, I was given 1 year multiple.

Everything took 9 days in all.

Thats about 7 days, mine was 9 days, dont think its too fast though, maybe they are through with their checks and decided to issue and send back, you have no cause to worry as its already on the way, stay positive.

If your app is not a complicated case, Germany usually responds within 8 days. All my 3 visas from Germany have been issued in exactly 7 days. So, it’s not a bad sign.

What do you mean?

NB:When I said "not complicated", it doesn't necessarily mean that you'd get visa. A non-complicated application is one that is a very clear Yes or No. A complicated one, is one that needs extra document verifications (if the authenticity of your documents can't be easily verified) or deeper background/security/criminal checks (most especially if they spot a lie/misrepresentation in your application), etc.

Good day everyone.
Thanks all for sharing your info on this thread, have read from page one till now and have learnt a lot.
However I need help from gurus in the house. I just won a fellowship scholarship award fully sponsored by UNESCO and the German government for a short course at one university in Germany for a month in October. I'm expecting all the original copies of the documents (award letter, flight itinerary, health issuance etc) from them as stated in the email I received.
My questions now is
1. What type of visa will I apply for?
2. Can i start to fill the application form and book appointment while still expecting the original documents?
3. How fast can I get an appointed date, is August possible?
Thanks in anticipation for you answers

1. Visit visa
2. If you know exactly when your document would arrive, book your appointment. If not, don't take the risk as you may not be able to book another appointment in the next 3 months if you miss your original appointment.
3. You can check the german website yourself to see the available dates.

I want to share my experience with respect to the subject. Go back from Germany on the 7th of July 2019. I can tell you for free that German embassy has the sleekest process when it comes to Schengen area.
I got my first tourist visa in June 2019 after 2 attempts ( Italy-2016 & Spain- 2018) and 2 yankee gbas gbos.
The good thing about their process is that there’s a mini-interview and they will review your documents not like others that you will use just submit documents without being able to defend what you have submitted.
At the POE the immigration officer delayed me a bit because she was stamping everyone and when it got to my turn she started asking questions and also because I am black (was the only black in the plane to Berlin from Doha).
She asked about the purpose of my visit, how much I had and I should show her, my accommodation and she said I should go and get my bag that she will get back to me and I told her I don't have bag only my hand luggage, she looked surprised and I told her I am only here for 7 days, leaving on Friday got there on Sunday night. After like 5-10 minutes, she gave me thumbs up and gave me my passport stamped in. Apparently, she confirmed from the hotel about the booking cos I booked 6 days.
Omo the next day I was on a flight to Barcelona, later to Baga, Ax les thermes, Andorra, Basel, Freiburg and back to Tegel in Berlin on Saturday morning and zoom back to Lagos.
