Just add Post to the front.
The Super Eagles Thread: POST-RUSSIA 2018/AFCON 2019: THE DAWN OF A NEW ERA grin
Icon4s:
The 2018 WC has come and gone and so also is the 2019 AFCON. Are we still maintaining the same title for this tread going forward?

Or are we probably waiting for the 3rd item their: "Dawning of a new era" to materialise before we change the nomenclature of the thread? grin

So we will be playing 2021 AFCON qualifiers and 2022 WC and still be Carrying Russia and 2019 AFCON.

Emmm... Terzurum5, come and change the title of this thread jare. Russia and 2019 AFCON have come and gone. Or we create an entirely new thread.

Leicester assistant coach, Chris Davies: "(I’m) Very pleased,” Davies said after
Saturday’s game at the New York Stadium.
"Kel (Iheanacho) is a threat. He’s got a lot of attributes, (he’s) quick, strong, has a good
technique, HE’S A FINISHER , and it’s difficult.

“He’s playing second fiddle really to one of the
Premier League’s best striker’s in Vards, so he
has to be patient, he has to do his best to
develop himself through training.

“He’s been doing that. He’s come back hungry
and strong, he scored a hat-trick in a pre-
season training game the other day and now
he’s done that today.

“He scored two, he could have had more and to
be fair the goals he did score, he took them
very well. There are a couple more he could
have scored but we need goals and it’s really
promising.”

TheGoodjoe I think u can agree now that missing the AFCON has helped Nacho.. He joined his team pre season early and is now in good shape to get lot of game times this season..

If he had gone to the AFCON, he'd be chilling in Benin City with Onyekuru and co. right now...
June 12th, 2019.

TheGoodJoe:

The fact is that from day one, long before the list came out, I wanted Nacho focused on preparing himself for the preseason than going to the AFCON.

Let me make it easy for you. I have a deep dislike for conservative football play. I do not think that should be Nacho's focus when Rodgers will be improving their tiki taka play.

So this is not about Iheanacho being dropped. I do not think he fits the bill of what Rohr wants to play. I am talking about strange reactions due to him being dropped that shows people have personal hatred for Iheanacho.

Deji Behruether and Chima Okoroji should borrow a leaf, go down to Bundesliga 2 to display their wares and improve themselves instead of sitting on the bench of Bundesliga clubs and occasionally playing for their youth teams in the Regionaliga, Collins has already blazed the trail, and here is Agu following same footpath.

Got my eyes on him already and he is just 19

Portugal is just producing quality talents at a large rate. Rafael Leao plays a lot like Jo of Brazil who played for Cska Moscow, Manchester City, Everton and Galasataray.

Wish Osimhen the best.

"The Super Eagles Thread: The Dawn Of A New Era"

This should be the title of the thread. No need adding tourneys. Thus the name stays for a longer period. We are in the dawn of a new era.

Let us set high standards for the SE

I am getting sick and tired of looking to lower tier leagues to fill in positions

Semilogo was very average in AFCON. Let us not populate the team with average players

We can set high standards but we need to scout every nook and cranny to unearth hidden gems. Lower tiers are a good place to search for quality talents.

The quality of the player is where you set the standard.

I doubt he would make the cut in an offensive manager's list. I do not see Jamilu Collins as a high grade. As it stands, my choice of players to play the Super Eagles full back roles is Aina and Ebuehi. However, Rohr is conservative and will opt for players to suit his conservative plans.
