When the story is not about how Tiwa Savage Kissed Wizkid at Eko Hotel.

Seriously, Seun needs to review his moderators list.

We can all talk but Seun won't do that

Because such bland news is what generates traffic to Nairaland. And he is in support of it

Colin Udoh isn't saying anything new. This is obvious to anyone who is an ardent follower of Nigerian football.

He is right. Its quite sad but sometimes I wonder if our local coaches play football matches with sound tactics or just tell their players to kick the ball to the nearest person. Also, these NPFL players don't even know the basics of the game. Colin Udoh is very right

Don't be carried away he scored 4 goals last preseason

Please help mW tell them.

Rotherham isn't premier league standard.

Before we start making excuses for him when he performs poorly. Me, I wish him the very best but won't be surprised if he continues this way when premier league starts

Jo was no where average. Jo's problem was his lifestyle which cut his reign short.

When he was at CSKA Moscow before joining City, he up there amongst the best in Russia, if not the best. I think he scored over 30 goals in 50 appearances as a young star. He just got carried away with his big salary at City at stopped working hard.

Some of Jo's goals at Russia.

Jo is average

He scored 30 league goals in 3 seasons its an ok stats but dude is average

It's not about the players but the coaches
We just don't have excellent coaches or the structure to produce them(please dont call N.I.S)
Ajax thanks to the cryuff plan implemented after the defeat to madrid in 2010 have become relevant in europe again
Rohr is not the coach to take nigeria forward
QED
Wetin u de QED undecided

What's Rohr got to do with Colins Udoh's article? Was Rohr hired to be the "excellent coaches" in the league [following the theme of the Article] or to create "the structure to produce them" (I'd assume we're still talking about the league)

Calling Rohr into this case is irrelevant. Be subtle with your opinion about Rohr.

Colin is bloody right. There are many things not right and the coaching is one shining moon among them. Watching Niger Tornadoes train in this Minna sometimes lead to me ask "what are they training". Zero professional/tactical input from the coach just side & back balls and occasional long balls to no man's land. I haven't been in too much of our club's training but only Ogunbote at Shooting Stars among the few i have been at has impressed me.

To an extent tho, the coaches are hampered by facilities, structures (youth teams) even quality staff but it still doesn't cloud the fact that a great number are tactically bereft and mostly count on " God " and "luck"

Amodu Shuaibu said the same thing Colin Udoh is saying almost a decade ago when we had this same debate of giving home based players a chance.
The quality just isn't there. Rohr's job is to pick the best Nigerian players home/foreign based - not to teach full blown pros the basics.
Can anyone point out a local league player that'd walk in Super Eagles first 11 at the moment?? What local league player would've the AFCON squad that wasn't picked?

If not cryuff and van gaal players like pep, xavi, iniesta and van schip would not have been stars because other coaches hated their physique
Players have to be given the chance before they are judged

The quality is not as high as it was back in the 90s. Oh and on your list - only Xavi was going to get sold because of his physique(still didn't take away from the fact he was talented).
Iniesta and Pep were always valued.

You might want to read cryuff's my turn and also listen to pep's interviews where he said cryuff blocked his release from la masia
Iniesta was always going to flourish under lvg

That's true. With the way the league is, anyone with just little quality moves immediately, cos staying too long will be counter productive for the player. That is how bad the league is presently

Chelsea defender Fikayo Tomori could be on his way to Goodison Park this summer as he's being linked with a move to Everton by Sky Sports.

According to the British media, the Toffees are looking at their chances of luring the Nigeria-eligible youngster and Southampton's Mario Lemina to the Merseyside club before the summer transfer window comes to an end in two weeks time.

The England U21 international would struggle for game time if he remains at Chelsea as he is behind David Luiz, Antonio Rudiger, Andreas Christensen and Kurt Zouma in Frank Lampard's pecking order of central defenders.

Tomori is seen as an alternative to Zouma who is in the plans of manager Lampard for the upcoming season.

The 21-year-old previously enjoyed loan spells at Brighton & Hove, Hull City and Derby County.

Rohr is the SE coach
Udoh's article was about why THE SE coach shouldn't pick local talent
Rohr has not improved the SE in any way at all
Our local coaches used to reach semis and finals in AFCON ffs
We should go for a world class dutch coach cuz our pattern of play is closer to theirs

It's not even abt the pay. If you were not good in the first place, they won't see club abroad.

Come to think of it, Iheanacho played alot like Nicolas Pepe at U17s. Almost identical skill set and good shooting ability.
What happened to that guy?

Forget talent because it is just a means to an end. The real koko is the better life you are looking for. Nobody is saying let me go to Europe because I have talent. They want a better life for themselves.

Yet a lot of them went for those trials abroad , but failed to get clubs.

Greener pasture is obviously one of the reasons, but if you are not good, even Sunday league team, you won't see
