I submitted my application at the vfs today in Abuja. Those vfs staffs can be frustrating.
I only have one reservation, the DoB on my Waec certificate is wrong by a day. Instead of 13th, it was 12th. But I didn't submit the Waec anyway as we were told it's not needed for postgraduate studies rather copies of degree certificate.

I have a fully funded PTDF scholarship. Should I be worried?

Did you go through campus France. You are good to go with PTDF scholarship

Yes bro. I went through Campus France. We were told that visa fee for us is 22k while vfs still collect 44k from applicants especially in Lagos.

I paid 27k though, that is 22k plus their 5k service charge. I think from next year, students won't have anything to do with vfs.

Yes. Because they are just extorting us. After September 2019, students will not have to go through vfs anymore but campus France. For example. I was suppose to pay 15k at vfs as well according to campus France website because we already paid 15k to campus France(no scholarship) but those guys go collected the 44k.

How were you able to convince them to pay 22k?

Lol, serious extortion, one PTDF guy was nearly sent off the vfs centre in Lagos when he insisted that he was supposed to pay 22k. When I got to vfs and showed them my PTDF award letter, they started asking each other if it is half payment or no payment. I told them that Campus France said we should pay 22k and that is what I came with. They agreed and said I will also pay their service charge which is 5k. Now, PTDF may not refund 44k because that is not what we are supposed to pay, they will refund the half payment to us, I just kept my payment slip.

Campus France said we should get their names, I mean those who insist you pay 44k. They are also working towards reimbursing those that paid 44k.

You got a summary of your request not a reply, like an auto-response.

They should reply you in English soonest. This is Summer and most schools are closed for the break to resume mid August.

Also, i believe you can get what you need at the school website though. What is the name of the school?

Details will help. What sort of a visa did you apply for, what documents did you submit, what is the purpose of your trip, etc.

Tourism and Tourist visa

You got Reason 2 on their denial checklist. Unfortunately the Europeans use generalisations, unlike the UK which generally specifies and gives you an idea of why you were denied.

However, Reason 2 refers to consistency and credibility issues assumed to be inherent in your application. You've not given us any general details about yourself here in terms of what your account statement contained, how much you earn, type of company where you work, travel history, etc., but look into the following issues:

Travel history (where have you been to previously, do you vacation regularly, i.e. is there a track record to support your trip, finances (how much do you have and does your account show that you can reasonably afford to be a tourist or not), any previous refusals and if so, on what grounds, evidence that the applicant has a thought-out itinerary etc.)

You can of course reapply, but before doing so you need to carefully review the previous application and correct any problems it might have had, and or address issues you think the visa officer did not take into consideration and/or provide new documentation. Also note that tourism as a reason for travel is not given much weight as you can always vacation elsewhere in the world or not go at all, so bear that firmly in mind.

Write a detailed cover letter in this respect. I normally use bullet points to enhance readability, keeping each idea/issue to a separate paragraph. And keep it as short as you possibly can - I have never written a cover letter beyond one page.

Don't just throw in the same material as used for the last application and expect a different result.

If you have a specific leave timelimit, also consider that reapplying now with a travel date based on your leave may lead to rejection for unfeasibility, processing times considered.

Hello all,

Please I'm unable to book an appointment for submission to the France Embassy. Is there another way to do it? It keeps showing "no appointment available"
What could be the issue?

The Master in International Management is a 2 year program (M1 and M2), and you can apply directly to M2 if you meet the criteria. Their below website is in English and you can send a mail directly to master.international@tsm-education.fr instead of the generic one you did.

To be sure we are on the same page, you are trying to apply for a French visa right?

If Yes, you don't book an appointment to submit. You only go to VFS office at Lekki very early to submit your application, not the French embassy.

If No, then i don't know.
