I advise you go for a h.pylori test as its present in most ulcer and gastritis patients this bacteria infection can cause so many symptoms not even related to the stomach.

And yes I did HIV test twice in the space of 7 months (second one today) all negative.. So calm down and get all your tests done

I also noticed anxiety in ur comments ( also a symptom of h pylori)
One last thing you can treat the gastritis for good tho the treatment will drive you insane.. Hope this helps

I'm at crossroads and really confused right now. Got another invite for an interview, but the medical tests which i got to know involves HIV screening. People with diabetes live on pills their whole life, some take insulin. Injections 3 times every day. People with hypertension live on pills the rest of their lives. There hundreds of other diseases that requires you to live on pills. It doesn't make your live the worst case scenario because you have to take anti retroviral every day. Those drugs will keep you healthy for the rest of your live. They are not a course. Being HIV positive will not stop your live except you stop it yourself.
You are sad bc your tested positive, probably your are afraid you are going to die. Why kill your self then? If you are afraid of death, why are you running to it your self.
By the way, it will take about 3months from the time you got infected before a routine screen will detect the virus in your system. So if you did this test less than 3months of having sex with this person, it would be unlikely you got it from her.
Which ever be the case, think forward. Go do a confirmatory test first.
If it's still positive, enrol and start the drugs right away. That way your present health status will be maintained. I'll strongly advice you join a group. It helps. You will be mo motivated when you see other people living highly productive life , doing far better than you, with beautiful families, having HIV free children.

I was in the same condition as you but was lucky, my then girlfriend was positive but on her drugs but she never told me. To be sincere with you I was having unprotected sex with her all the while but was never infected.
It is now I knew why I was never infected. I watched on CNN the other day about a new study that shows that positive people who are consistent with their drugs are not able to transmit the disease, then I realise where my luck came from. I had already made myself a Guinea pig for that study before even the scientist did that albeit unknowingly , so I was like nodding with the findings the day I was watching it.

You see it is not a death sentence. Staying close to that my Girlfriend all the while, I never see anything much different from her lifestyle though she takes the drug secretly without me knowing. please hang on. I came across your post from another post (https://www.nairaland.com/5362124/how-got-infected-hiv), and I just want to encourage you that the downfall of a man is not the end of his life. Think long term, in 10-15 years time, would this matter? Answer is No. You will have started your own family, built a successful career, found a better alternative for the drugs (as I believe research/technology would have made immense progress in the space by then), become an advocate in this area and impacted others' lives and will be able to look back on this as the hiccup it was rather than the end. That you still have a life is a sign that you still have a purpose.

Don't bother looking back, forget the past, don't waste your life with regret. Pick yourself up, create a long term goal for yourself and focus on it.
